    Good evening, fellow KH fans!

Very, VERY interesting update here for you all, which was brought to our attention by forum member P. So, after some people went through the files of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix, they found animations and renders of Sora, Riku, and Kairi, all from the up-and-coming Nintendo 3DS title Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. After hearing this, it appears "KH3D," as fans call it, will most likely run on the same engine Birth by Sleep did. Pretty exciting, huh?

Anyways, you can see both videos, posted by YouTube's Keytotruth here and here, or watch them below:

Hope you all enjoy; we should have more updates coming soon!

If they rendered everything ahead of time using the same engine having a demo on the psp would only make sense. And check my previous post.
      Got the pics posted.

i don't imagine they would be that different.
not entirely sure either but i think the cutscene was rendered while they were running BBSFM since all the animations are in there. that's what i think anyway.

What I find weird is the title screen is a 3D model and not a texture.

The existence of the title screen for the demo suggests that it was going to be included as an extra for BBSFM, but was ultimately cut. If it were merely a fact of being on the same engine, there'd be no reason for them to include it in the BBS ISO.

Also, this means that DDD isn't necessarily based on the BBS graphic engine, as it's possible they re-rendered it on the BBS engine to include as a demo, but ultimately cut it due to lack of time.

But why re-render and not follow through?

Time constraints. They got the Sora and Riku models complete, but didn't get the rest sorted out in time for release, so they cut it, and didn't bother removing that which was already there. Kinda like the left over Jungle Book world in BBS, or the Buzz and Woody models in KH2, I imagine.

The models can be easily converted. So making new ones would make no sense on their part.

Yeah, I'll give you that. It still works with my theory, which is that the developers started on putting the DDD demo in BBSFM, but had to cut it for some reason, be it time constraints or a change of heart. Instead, they left the easily-converted models in the ISO, not bothering to take them out.

Are any of the settings of the DDD trailer in the game? How about the other parts? If not, it supports my idea.

I'm just trying to think of an explanation other than, "Well, they were working on this at the same time, and they used the same engine, so they decided to put it on the ISO for a laugh."

Those vids are ridiculous they looked like they were put in my some computer wiz or a code modifier anyway they doesnt look like they were meant to be there.

Well maybe I will find something helpful. I'll take a look at the models.

I don't see you trying to help.

The videos themselves weren't supposed to be there. The important thing to note is that the models are. Why is the Sora model from DDD hidden away in the coding of BBSFM? To demonstrate the Sora model's presence, KeytoTruth inserted the Sora model in a BBS location and a BBS cutscene. So while no one at Square sat down and coded Sora into a mine shaft, they did sit down and code a Sora, which is what the video is trying to show us.

Its the beauty of how square made this game and others in the series. They have cutscene models that can be switched or changed. It isn't just a pre recorded video.

I'd just like to note Truthkey found them first, then I found them on my own, and the screens that Luxord posted were uploaded by me.

The reason that these models are in there is most likely because they simply didn't remove them. Since they were rendered in the BBSFM Engine, they were inserted into BBSFM in order to render them properly on the PSP. The flags and the models probably became too difficult to remove completely due to coding issues, so they were dummied out instead. The Kingdom Hearts: 3D DEMO Model and 3D DEMO texture are there probably because they are part of the very first KH3D trailer that was shown in the private theatre last E3.

I think it's similar to how KH2FM had an option for the english voiceovers.

Anyway, this is really interesting. I already figured that most of the newer KH entries were gonna pull things from BbS but running them both on the same engine is something interesting...

Anyway, it's nice to know that people are finding these easter eggs for the fans. Can't wait to hear more on 3D though.

Truth's patch was used. That is why it was english.
