Caim noticed something out of the corner of his eye and hopped down off the dragon to investigate. Closer inspection revealed it to be a message written in blood, which the dragon then read aloud. Speak not the watchers. Draw not the watchers. Write not the watchers. Sculpt not the watchers. Sing not the watchers. Call not the watchers name. What is this? The dragon said as she finished it.

 

Angeal shot from the bushes, his sword drawn, and skidded to a halt near the little group. A flutter of little wings and three fairies settled on his shoulders. "Who are you? You linger in the forest even after the seal is broken."

 

Caim spun around to face the man who had just burst from the bushes, his sword also drawn. We were the ones attempting to defend the seal. We linger because we found something rather unusual. The dragon said, tilting her head toward the writing on the ground.

 

Angeal sighed and put his sword away, "Hmph, you should've just said so. Oh, that? It's nothing...ignore it...but don't linger too long. Fairies may protect this forest, but there are other things here as well. Our lovely Goddess Yggdrassiel cannot hold back all the evil in this world." He took a few steps backwards and folded his arms. "A dragon...perhaps you would give me a lift to the desert seal. My name is Angeal Hewley, the Goddess instructed me to protect the seals. She's in pain...I must end her suffering."

 

Kenna went forward, calling off her kin as she was guarding this Dragon and her partner. "I am a fairy of this forest, who tried to protect the seal. These two helped, but were not enough. Now I forbid any calling harm upon these two, or I shall choke you with my own smoke." she harshly warned.

 

It would seem our group is ever growing. Very well, you may ride me to the desert. Said the dragon. Well then, if everyone is ready, let us be off. i just hope that boy and the other dragon can protect the ocean." Thought Caim, as he mounted the dragon and waited for the others to do so as well.

 

Angeal was about to jump up onto the dragon when a burst of white light emitted from his right side. "What the...!" A white gossamer wing broke through his shirt and spread wide, "Holy...Goddess..."

 

The dragon looked at him with intrigue "What's this? A human that can fly on their own? Now we can travel faster." She was about ready to take off when the fairies flew around Caim "Wait a moment!" They said to him. "The empire is extremely strong, let us grant you new power." They began working their magic on Caim. "You now have power of fire, may it serve you well on your quest" They then fluttered over to Angeal and did the same. "If they learn of your quest, the golems and sirens will do something similar for you."

 

Angeal brushed them aside, "I have powers...ones the Goddess gave me. Thundara Materia." He lifted his arm to show a glowing orb infused inside his arm. "Let's go. I know a few of the Sirens."

 

As you wish. The dragon said as it lifted itself into the air and began gliding off towards the desert.

 

Kenna followed quickly, a thin, constantly shifting cloud of smoke trailing behind her. "So, great fire breather, how would you train me to fight?" she stared off to the clouds, creations of dust and water. She wasn't a big fan of clouds of water, she called them half siblings.

 

"Caim will teach you to use a weapon when we camp for the night." Said the dragon. A few hours later, it came to be about that time and she landed in a flat open space. Caim dismounted and began to set up the camp. once that was finished, he tossed Kenna a wooden training sword while holding an identical one in his left hand. "Time to figure out her forté." He thought to himself.

Background: Mitzkuni or Mitzy is the only daughter of a Untion general. Her mother died during childbirth and she formed the pact with Din to aid her father in the up coming battles. Though she refuses to fight on her own, she implores Din to be gentle with her opponents, often leading to a one sided argument with Din herself.

 

Kenna quickly caught the wooden sword quickly, staring at the unknown thing. "So, how should I start?" Her form grew, to the size of a normal human female, though smoke laced her every step.

 

I have a question on this one. What is Din?

"Try parrying an attack." The Dragon said for her partner. Caim then ran towards her and swung the wooden blade down on the fairy.

Angeal watched them from where he sat. Yggdrassiel...guide us. He leaned back on the ground and set his sword beside him, "Is this going to take long? I usually travel more at night. Goddess M-- Yggdrassiel has a limited patience and pain threshold."

 

Kenna shifted her form to smoke, solidifying once Ciam had passed through. It was merely an instinct, as Kenna could not really think at such a time. "I... I apologize. I get nervous at brute force." her hands felt clammy, trying to keep a grip on the fake sword.

 

Caim transimitted his toughts to the Dragon and she delivered them to the rest of the party in his stead. "The enemies will be using mostly brute force you know, but...if that makes you nervous, maybe a sword isn't your thing. Lets try a bow and arrow." Caim then walked over to the packs tied to the dragon and withdrew a long oak bow and 3 arrows, which he then handed to Kenna. He walked over to a nearby tree and cut a mark in it with his sword, so as to create a target for her.

 

Angeal stood, leaving his sword where it was, "Instead of shooting at a tree...how about at a person. A few soldiers are known to have good reflexes. Come...the both of you. Along with teaching Kenna, we'll hone Caim's skills." He stood in front of the tree, blue eyes focused on the two.

 

Kenna shrunk a bit, not in her actual size, but probably a bit put off. "Well..." as she tried to fiddle with the bow. She already realized she wouldn't be able to hit it straight on. So, the alternative to compensate for lack of strength? Angling the bow up high, and shooting. The arrow, guided by Sir Gravity, hit a thin branch, making it snap off from the foreign weight.
