A/N: I thought I would post this in chapter format, since alot of people seem to like my game's story, but don't have the means needed to play it. so, here goes, I hope its as good like this as it was as a video game. Please note, this is not a mainstream game, it is a story I personally developed for use on RPG Maker 2003. I am merely posting it like this for those that are unable to play it, but wish to experience my game. CnC is loved, and welcomed. Just try to be constructive. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 0: Prologue In Times of Dragon and Man. There once were beings called 'Dragons' they were powerful, much more than humans could ever dream to be. But as fate would deal, they werent the strongest. Unknown to the great Dragons there was a race that lived deep in the planet, plotting their rise against these champions that maintained peace. Humans came to know these beings as 'The Germ' due to their strange ability to infect others, rather than directly reproduce. 'The Germ' tried once to tinfect and destroy the populace of humans and Dragons, but were driven off by two warriors who stood far above their kind, A dragon man, and a human female. They fought for their child, to give him a world he could live happily in. Peace reigned on for what felt like lifetimes, and The Germ fell from memories....until one day, when Dragons vanished from the world completely. Once these champions were gone, The Germ returned, with no resistance. The Human warrior was long dead, lost to the years, and her child nothing but an old man. Hope was lost completely. Animals, once peacful and kind began raging against their human companions, and monsters were born, even the wilderness and nature itself was lost to these creatures. On the verge of annihilation, the human race devised a plan, to use the technology that was left by the Dragons, to re create the two warriors. Their plan worked, though dragons were never seen again, the two lived happily once more. They once again, had a son. Humans had grown greedy though in their time alone, and destroyed their created warriors, leaving the baby to die. However, fate intervined once again, and a lonely old man found him and brought him back home, to the town of Dregnan. The boy was raised with no knowledge of being found. He is now nineteen years old, and about to get married to his childhood friend, and take over his father's role as mayor, and live happily....until disaster strikes the world once more. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1: Nightmares and Demons. A young man jolted awake with nightmares of war and suffering. He clutched his face in his palm and sighed. "What is this...?" He asked himself out loud. "Another nightmare, Eh Son?" Asked an elderly man. "You should stop worrying, its unbecoming of a mayor you know." The young man laughed and got out of bed, putting his jacket on. "Dad, I'm not mayor yet, not for two more days...Alright? You can keep your job just a little longer." He laughed. He looked at the corner and saw his shabby wooden sword and shield and had the feeling that he should take them. "I'm going to see Sally, I'll be back later." "Alright, have fun Arc, remember, be home early so you can get a good night's sleep." The old man called after his son as he ran out the door in a hurry. Along the way, Arc decided to visit the other villagers, starting with the local church, an old childhood friend of his was just allowed to serve the church. "Hey Cassandra, you look good in the holy cloth." He said jokingly as he waved. T he priest smiled and jumped up "ARC! SO GLAD YOU COULD MAKE IT!!!" He said as he led Arc to a chair. "Please sit...have you come today for god's divine blessing? I ensure you, he would not turn a blind ear to your words my son." Arc sighed and stood back up. "I'm sorry Father...your sermon is falling on deaf ears today...maybe another day though.." The priest sighed and nodded. "One day, my son, you will open your heart, and our lord, savior will be there to welcome you with open arms." Arc smiled and nodded. "I...I really hope your right." He walked out and saw Daniel, the town's only soldier, long retired. This man had taught Arc everything he knew about swordplay. "Hey Geezer!" Arc said as he walked up to him. "Geezer!? You wanna put your sword to that!?" Arc laughed and shook his head. "I'll pass today, sorry." Daniel grumbled and sighed. "Go find Sally, she's been looking for you, said she would meet you in 'the usual place'" Arc nodded "Thanks." and ran to the small Garden he planted for his soon to be wife. "Sally..." Arc said softly as he approached a girl sitting in a small flowerbed, admiring the assortment of roses and other wild flowers that decided to grow in the small patch. "Your FINALLY awake!" she exclaimed and hugged him tight. "Yeah, sorry, I havn't been sleeping well...I'm still exhausted, I don't know whats going on lately..." She giggled and flicked his nose. "Too much combat training before bed, buster!" "I really doubt that" They playfully argued for a few minutes before he got a serious expression. "This dream...has me scared....I'm hurting so many..." She smiled and wrapped her arms around him from behind. "Look at them all..." She said, pointing to the villagers. "They all believe in you, and I love you. You have nothing to worry about, OK?" He nodded and closed his eyes. "Thanks..." Sally shook her head. "Don't mention it, now, go home and rest up, The big days coming soon!" Arc nodded and kissed her before running home. "About time!" Arc's dad exclaimed. "Hurry and eat so you can go to bed, its a busy day tomorrow!" Arc nodded and was soon sound asleep again, tossing and turning as the dreams began again. Daniel rushed to Arc's house in the middle of the night. "Sir, we're under attack, we don't know what it is, but nothing seems to be working, and the town is ablaze!" Arc's father rushed out as fast as he could and fell to his knees as he saw a man with deep purple wings and pale blue hair. The man looked different but the old man knew his son when he saw him. He watched as the boy he raised lifted a child and set the young one on fire, throwing the corpse to the ground, as if he were possessed. He began towards the flower garden where a girl stood firm as Daniel jumped in the way, but easily fell to the power of this 'Dragon' Sally backed up finally, noticing his eyes. "Arc? Whats happening, I thought you would never hurt me!! That we would be together, forever!! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!!!"" Tears streamed down her face as the man's voice boomed and echoed. "I want...to see your skin melt, Die...pathetic human." With that sentence, the flowers began slowly wilting as they were burned from the roots and soon ignited, killing Sally, the woman Arc had given his heart to. He turned and began walking again when a magician that had arrived moments before grabbed Arc by the arm. "Stupid fool, your too young and weak to awaken, now, SLEEP!" With that, Arc's tirade died, along with the small wind filled town of Dregnan. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2: Awakening to Despair Arc opened his eyes and found himself on the outer plains, beside a ruined town. He didn't recognize his home at first, until he walked through it and saw one thing. The charred bones of a person, wearing a pendant he had hand crafted from diamond clutched in it's hand. "S...Sally? No! Whats going on here!?" he stumbled backwards, tripping over Daniel's remains and landing on his backside, pushing himself back. "Everyone...? This has to be a sick joke, it has to be!!" He jumped to his feet and ran to the church, the place he hoped he would find salvation, to find it collapsed. destroyed entirely.A hand stuck from the remains, clutching a bloodied bible. Arc dropped to his knees and began crying. "What the hell happened here!?" He screamed to the sky. The sun began setting several hours later as he clutched the bones of his lover in his arms, not knowing what to do. "I don't want to live without you..." He said to the remains, wishing for an answer that he knew would not come. An entire day passed as he grieved, an entire day before the despair was replaced by an equally strong emotion-Rage. He buried his friends, family, and lover and looked at the makeshift head markers. "So...My town gets destroyed, my family torn from me, and my paradise stolen....but I'm still standing, without a scratch...God must really hate me. I don't know whats going on here, but I need answers...I need to find the ******* that did this, and I need to kill him." --------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3: A Journey Begins Once he decided he mourned enough, he looked out at the plain he was in, it being a vast area, secluded on one side by giant mountains, while blockaded by ocean on the other. There was a small cave to the north that would lead to the neighboring village. "I wonder how many were killed...." He said to himself as he began his walk, clutching his wooden sword and shield, knowing they wouldn't do much in terms of protection. He saw the cave coming on the horizon and smiled a sigh of relief escaping his lips. Just as he reached the cave, a wild monster, one of the remnants of the forgotten 'Germ' infestation, this one looked like it was once a wolf, or dog of some sort, but now it's face was twisted, eyes red with blood lust, fangs grown out so it could bore into it's enemies. It approached Arc while growling, and he knew his choices were simple. Escape...or Die. The beast lunged at him and before he could react he found himself on his back, barely holding the beast from goring his neck. His arms slowly began to lose their strength under the beast's weight and he closed his eyes, making his last rites, expecting his death to come slow and painfully. Suddenly and unexpected though, the dog yelped and flew back, impaled by a spear of ice. "What the hell?" He asked as he looked around for the source, seeing nothing, no one. "Oh yeah...I'm alone..." He entered the cave and wandered haphazardly, he was tired, his first time away from home wasn't as grand as one would think. He slumped down against the wall and made a small camp, just a sleeping bag and small fire for warmth. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep, peacefully for the first time in seven months.
I have never heard of this game before Arc, but it sounds really good. If you have time, please continue.

Those Germs are gross! I wish I will never see one of those, unless I have to like in Arc's situation.
