They have fixed the combat system so that you're more in control of your character when attacking. It's no longer hit X and watch.

    Have you tried the demo?

When is this game coming out again? Because I saw that it's been floating in the internet since today. And it's been cracked already.

Ah I see. Seemed a little strange. Tell us impressions, I want to buy it but I'm not sure if I will, if it's not good enough.

Well I haven't played a whole lot of it so far, but what I have played, it is a lot of fun. The combat is much better than the first. The story is good so far, have you tried the demo?

I will say the story in Origins kept me more interested than this, but I still love 2 so far.

You should, and if anything, wait till the price goes down if you're not sure. If you liked the first, you should like this one, especially if you play it on a console.

This game had better be great, the issues I went through to get the signature edition is not funny!

I also wish you could choose your race, i mean i play fantasy games so I don't have to play as a human all the time in all games. Still I loved playing the demo, wish you could have changed appearance and picked up equipment. Still that's what's the game for. And I tried all classes and dialogue options in the demo but I still don't know what class to choose!! Mage, Rogue or Warrior? Argh!!!

I love the dialogue wheel now, you get valiant, aggressive or humourful Hawke. That's what I want in my hero, saves the world while cracking jokes about darkspawn. Lovely.

Yeah, it's much different than the first. The first was supposed to be what RPGs are made to be. Be whatever you want to be, how you want to be it. But DA2 is a lot like Mass Effect 2, you're pretty much putting your own spin on a pre-made character, but there is are still a lot of choices.

After playing a lot yesterday, I found that the combat is simpler, but faster and more exciting on the console end. In Origins, I constantly said to myself, "God damnit, more enemies, boring", but with this one, I like the battles, I look forward to them. The story is starting to get better, but it does take a little time to get going. I won't spoil anything, but it has a lot to do with mages and Templars. The companions...in my opinion, aren't as cool as they are in the first, but you do have some pretty cool ones in this one, like Varric and Isabella. There wasn't a stand out companion, like Wrex or Garrus in Mass Effect, Morrigan or Shale in Origins, or HK-47 in KOTOR. made me switch up my party a lot, which I did like, because I found in Origins, I just picked one party and used it the whole way through. Mostly because I didn't like Sten, Zevran or Leliana, and I only used Alistar because I needed a tank. Anyway, the balance is nice.

The conversation wheel actually turned out a lot better than I thought it would. Now they have icons to show you when you'll start a fight, or what you're being funny, or nice, or a dick. In Mass Effect 2, I would say no to something, and he would be like screw you, and I'd gain Renegade points, which Dragon Age 2 doesn't have, thank god.

The small problems I had with it, were that they re-used some of the dungeons, and just had different paths for different quests. Also, some of the things like item crafting, were too simplified versus the first one. People say there are long load times, I didn't really think so.

So if you liked the first one, and if you liked Mass Effect 2, you will like this game. I am having a lot of fun.

It was shipped via special delivery today so I should be getting it tomorrow. (fingers crossed)

What I played at Eurogamer was pretty good, familiar but with a Mass Effect vibe.

I am currently playing my Bioware Signature Edition <3
Alot of fans have mixed feelings about this game, but I love it.

    Pros
    • The graphics look alot more better (not amazing, but certainly an upgrade)
    • Elves look more distinctive and unique
    • You don't look like a disco ball just walking around now when you summon a spell
    • Battle is not boring and tedious as it once was
    • The classes are also very distinctive
    • Character models/animations have improved drastically

    Cons
    • I love the Dialog Wheel, I really do. But the choices they give us feel a bit constricting
    • Both Hawkes actors are a bit weak.
    • Hawke shows near to no emotion during vital parts like..
    when Carver/Bethany dies
    or...
when a qunari sets himself on fire
    • The woman models HAVE improved. But their breasts are just way too huge for my liking.
    • Even though I do like it that elves actually look different, they just look like Na'vi.
    • Story seems to be very loose, I am not used to it.
    • Your Warden is sadly never mentioned but in a few lines (I had a Dalish elf, I thought she would be alittle popular among the Dalish clan since its the same one from her origin)

All in all its a good game, but it is one of Biowares weaker titles. I mean DA:O took 7 years to make as DA2 took 1 and half (or 2). EA is really destroying Bioware with these fast release dates.

Completed it today...things get crazy at the end. @__@

My first thoughts after completing it were, '...I need Dragon Age 3'. :|

The ending is just so...'HOW COULD YOU LEAVE IT LIKE THAT?! DAMN YOU BIOWARE!'.

I love this game, but that's one thing they could have done better. They might wrap it up with an expansion or DLC, but on it's own, I wasn't satisfied. Sure the ending inside Kirwall with Orsino and Meredith was alright. (I will admit, Anders blowing up the Chantry blew my mind) But I was expecting there to be some point to Cassandra questioning Varric. He told that big long story, and then she was just like, "kthxbai". If they don't incorporate this into Dragon age 3 or and Expansion, in my opinion, it wasn't a great ending. And what was the point of Lelina being there? Oh well, I guess we'll just wait and see.

Yeah, the ending was a wee bit dissatisfying in the sense that it ended abruptly. I wasn't surprised that Cassandra didn't question him since as the story progressed it made more sense to her. Yeah, there will definitely be a new game. There is so much that needs to be explained; like what is Flemeth planning and what has happened to Hawke and the Warden since they have disappeared. I would really like to play as Hawke again, though.

Lelina works for the Divine, with Cassandra. She appeared earlier in the game, I believe part of the DLC in the Sebastian download. They had other Origin characters appear (ZevranxFemale HawkexIsabela = lulz) which was a nice touch. I'm hoping they'll reunite them in the next game.

Thats one thing I do not like. EA is seriously grabbing Bioware by the balls with the quick release dates and the DLC. I mean what about the people who do not have internet access? Are they just supposed to be left with that cliff hanger?

It wouldn't be a surprise if they release all the DLC on disc at some point. They did with Origins. And I doubt a sequel would be DLC. It would seem like a waste. A story about one of the characters or something, sure, but to me the ending looks like it's setting up for a proper sequel.

The DLC has no effect on the ending. Leliana will show up at the end unless she died in Origins.

First off, what did you guys play as during thier first playthrough? And if you romanced, who with? Just cause i'm curious.
I went with Male Rogue choosing the 'kind' dialogue for most of the game.
I was also a mage sympathiser.
Romanced the innocent but misguided Merril.

Anyway, just finished it today, I wanted to take it moment by moment, quest by quest till I got everything I possibly could or wanted before the end. And as such I was thoroughly pleased to complete it. The ending in itself, i'll admit, was a little anti climatic. What I really wished for was that an epilogue like in Origins would appear, where the fate of your companions and other impportant figures would be touched upon. Instead I feel like there's a great big gap...

Ah well. It certainly improved in a lot of ways from the first game. Combat, story, dialogue as usual top notch and immersive. The main story, though a little slow, crazy or fulfilling at times, it really gave me the sense that Hawke had been thrust into this situation whether he/she wanted to or not, whilst also being able to shape the world around you, which to me is incredibly difficult task for a write to accomplish.
I also thought that the companions were more distinct in peronality this time around. I'll admit their not the most memorable, but I liked them in their own way. I liked Fenris the most, though I disagreed with all his beliefs and even though he was also my only rival, I liked him loads!

The companion quests were the best yet in a Bioware game, since spanning years, you really can create a connection with the people you work with. I liked the Welsh and Irish accents for the Dalish elves. Made them more of a country people, and it's the small things that count.
Bioware said Cassandra is likely to feature heavily in the next installment. In my belief she'll be a companion to the main character, seeking there help to stabilise the world.

First play through was Female Mage and I romanced with Isabela. My gosh I love that woman. <3
I sympathised with the mages but after completing it I replayed the end and sided with the Templars (I preferred that choice).

My favourite characters have to be Isabela, Varric and Fenris. The other characters were interesting, but I agree with you that they aren't as memorable as the first cast.
