I wanted to see what other people think. I've stated in other posts by other users that I have seen a lot of people unhappy with the way Quinton Flynn voiced Axel this time around. Personally, and this is mere opinion, I disagree with them. I did notice that his voice was deeper and different than it was in KHII, but you have to realize that KH Chain of Memories takes place a year or so before KHII. In the GBA version of CoM Axel was much more evil and dark then when we saw him in KHII. Roxas hadn't even arrived yet in the game, and it was Roxas who softened Axel up. I say Quinton Flynn did a great job as usual.

I don't know why people whine and stuff about the new voices either.
    So what?
Get over yourself and on with your life.

    Don't like it?
    Get the japanese version then.

I never liked his voice either way: old, new, japanese, or english.

So it really never bothered me, though I could also notice the difference.

i personally love all the new voice actors. and Ansem's voice actor, still not as good as Billy Zane but it has improved ALOT from Kingdom Hearts 2. my only problem was that Sora had his KH2 voice, but i'll get over it. i heard Riku has his KH2 voice but it sounds the same as his KH1 voice to me.

anyways, i did notice Axel sounded different but it wasn't an issue for me, it sounds similar enough and IS voiced by the same person (who i found out also voices Raiden in Metal Gear Solid).

The only problem I had was Marluxia's name being pronounced Marloosha, but I'll get used to it.

I agree. In CoM, we see his darker side. Hey, at least they kept Quinton Flynn. Could you imagine the insanity that would ensue if Square had no choice but to find another voice actor?
Personally, I don't have a problem with any of the voice actors. Even Sora's is okay (when I close my eyes...haha)

  11. I didn't like Axel's voice.

It sounds like he smoked too many cigars, and his throat dried. I'm used to the KH2 Axel [which was raspy, but it wasn't too much rasp where you wonder if he ate something sharp and it got stuck in his neck], and for a moment, I even wondered if it was really Quinton Flynn. Axel is darker, but that doesn't mean the tone had to change to that point where now I don't want him whispering in my ear anymore. Besides, even in CoM, if said Axel is darker, he still kept his overall lulz/happy attitude in sadistic way at some points, so, it wasn't like he had to sound any different either [and if the Japanese VA can do complete a-hole without any changes in Axel's voice, then I don't know why Quinton can't], nor can Axel has his voice changing; he's not a growing teenager, he's a adult.

Personally, I think Axel sounded a bit different only because he was trying to match the lip flaps as much as possible (hence the hesitant pauses and such when he talks in CoM). Since NA Square Enix wouldn't be able to manipulate the lips, the voice actors/actresses had to synch as best as they could without it seeming too awkward in their voices. In other words, they didn't have as much freedom in their voice acting as they did back in KH or KH2. That's why they sound and look as awkward as they do.

That's the way I see it anyway.

I actually thought he just sounded more British, and this is my opinion, but that's not a problem with me, I'm cool with it, I'm cool with the voice actors, but Larxene...geez, still burned her. I don't think what they did with her was wrong but, they could have gotten a little more dark with it, y'know? Axel, Marluxia, heck, Vexen were good, even Zexion wasn't half bad, but neither was Lexaeus, which I have to agree with all of you, this entire single part of what they should and shouldn't have done is complete rediculous, even for me, and I'm just saying my own mind here, that even I can sometimes think, what could they have done better on it?

Completely off topic but didn't anyone notice how Larxene said "Yes. She. Is." in single tone each time? It didn't sound right too me, my opinion in fact, but people can say what they wan't too.

i think that IS the reason some of the dialouge is a bit awkward.

  16. I understand the dialogue. Is botched, and rushed, and it bothered me. If it wasn't for that, the VA for Larxene wouldn't sound so awkward, and I liked her.

But, I thought we were talking about the voice tone, not the way the lines were delivered. Axel sounds too rough now. I liked KH2's.

I don't know why people are even discussing this. Quinton Flynn did a great job voicing Axel and it is true that Axel is much darker than he was in Kingdom Hearts II so it fit accordindly. I'm glad that he wasn't being friendly to Sora and that he simply tolerated the other members. Remember all of the organization members have their own intentions. I like all the voices in fact and if people don't like it then that's their fault. You can't please everyone.

I agreed that what most people say about the voice and lip sync situations....I like all the voices too. It must be an interesting job to be a VA!:) It's not like the US is the only country that dubs suff. Almost ever country in the world has dubbed our movies and T.V. shows. I live in Germany and watching our T.V. shows in German is pretty interesting.

I don't mind any voice actor unless they sound completely idiotic. (Like barney)
I quite like this Axel voice. I was quite amused when he said; "Got it memorized".
