Anyone think that Donald and Goofy will have a good amount of knowledge of the keyblade in this game? They did see Mickey train with one in Yen Sid's Tower.

Yeah probably because they have been with the king for a long time so he could've also told them about it

Donald and Goofy are regaining their memories back with Sora. We won't see much of them, unless they are bosses in Olympus Collesium. And you might fight other orgies to train with in TWTNW. oh wait, this is bbs.

yes but I think that they won't tell Sora until KH3 (if there is one). They will have thought that what they learned is un-importaint but it will be like the most importaint thing in the whole game.

Actually, I was surprised at Sora, Donald, and Goofy's first meeting after learning that they know of keyblades before. I mean Donald and Goofy did seem freaked out.

I would imagine in BBS, Donald and Goofy weren't told what the weapon Mickey had was called. Maybe Keyblade wielders had to train in secret or something back then. I think that the fact that Mickey could wield the Keyblade was a secret back then so he never told Donald and Goofy. But, when the news of a possible Keyblade War was announced, Keyblade wielders had to do intense training. Perhaps Donald and Goofy started to wonder why Mickey was away all the time, possibly even very worried. So Mickey, as their good friend managed to persuade Yen Sid to finally let the two in on his little secret. Yen Sid agreed and even let them visit during one of Mickey's training sessions (from the scans). Donald and Goofy seemed rather scared in that screenshot which probably means they were really awestruck and nervous about that skill they never knew Mickey had. So that's probably how they found out about Keyblades although the name probably wasn't mentioned to them at that time. This is just a bit of a wild guess, but hey, it's only a theory.

If that's true but then why were Donald and Goofy surprised when they saw Sora with a keyblade?

Well I kind of understand that goofy could keep a secret but donald just cant keep his mouth shut. If it really was a secret, then why is it in kh2 donald blurted out "he trained the king!" After Sora asked who yen sid was? I understand that it is possible for them to be keeping a secret but if so, nomura has got a lot of bullets to dodge in order to not create a another plot hole in kingdom hearts

You forget, Donald and Goofy spent the first part of KH1 trying to find "a key." They had no idea what they were looking for exactly.

The King's letter said: "There's someone with a "key"--the key to our survival."

They kept referring to a "key", but never a "Keyblade" which means that they had no prior knowledge about it.

Besides, if Donald and Goofy saw Mickey wielding the Star Seeker, they'd probably think it was just some fancy looking staff-blade.

Oh, and when Sora asked who Yen Sid was, Goofy replied "Yen Sid is the king's teacher." He never specified WHAT he was teaching. But Jiminy's Journal says that he was referring to magic, not fighting.

they dont know anything about it in the begining of KH1 so what makes you think they would know about it in a prequel?

In Kingdom Hearts 1, they are searching for a key. They had no idea what kind of key they were looking for, wether it be a person, an object, a magic, a power, or a force. It could have been anything. If this is a prequel then they will not have any knowledge of the key. hope this helps you!

To answer everyone, I'll explain what I mean a little more: Donald and Goofy were only invited to that ONE session so they're assured that Mickey is okay, and to keep the secret of the Keyblades, they weren't told what the weapon was called. Plus, as Destiny's Force said, they could've thought it was just a fancy-looking staff blade. See, they didn't learn anything at all during that session except discover that Mickey was tougher than they thought. They didn't know it was "the key" they were gonna search for in KH1. Finally, it's been 10 years. Mickey already forgot who Xehanort was after less than 10 years so Donald and Goofy would've forgotten practically everything they knew about that lesson. They only remember that "Yen Sid was the king's teacher.". If they did learn more than that, then they might probably remember in an important scene in KH3 (if there is one). So, to sum it up: Donald and Goofy didn't know anything. The news of a Keyblade War was brought up to Keyblade masters and they were forced to train hard. Donald and Goofy became worried. Mickey persuaded Yen Sid to let Donald and Goofy come to one of his training session. This was just to show that Mickey was okay, basically meaning Donald and Goofy were only invited to watch, not to learn. They forgot almost everything they might've learned after 10 years. You see?

that may be true. it makes me wonder about the roles mickey, donald and goofy might play in bbs. Hmm....it also makes me wonder if Disney Castle would become like a "traverse town" or "twilight town" of the series, after all, in kh2fm+ u fight Terra in some portal inside disney castle him being a boss might be a cameo appearance but that place seriously looked like the desert in the bbs trailer

Heh, wouldn't it be weird if Mickey's world was the place of the final battle in this game.:p

yeah but the note mickey left was find the key so that could have meant anything because as far as they were concerned the king only had a key blade

Yeah, that was clarified already. Anyway, do you think maybe Disney Castle will be the place where you'll fight the final boss?

Don't think so. If this was 10 years ago, No,ura wouln't want to ruined Kingdom Hearts I for the reason that Donal and Goofy din't knew what a "keyblade" was. If Nomura puts that Donald and Goofy knew what a keyblade was 10 years before KH I, he has to put a logical explanation on how they din't knew in KHI...

Heh, maybe Donald does something to himself and Goofy through his magic.:p

He did freeze himself in KH2 when he woke up from his sleep.

A little late to this topic, but I agree here. Nomura has so many plotholes in thsi series it's upsetting. Now, i haven't been on kh-vids.net, and I don't know a lot of what's going on in the new games, but from what I;ve played and experienced in the games already released, they make almost no sense when added up.

The games actually make more sense when you play all three of the main games already out (KH1, CoM, and KH2). I think they're making the three new games to finally fill in any remaining plot holes and to answer all other remaining questions regarding the previous games. The three new games are also connected to a "future game" (KH3 obviously) which will most likely be the final game of the series. So I think these three new games are to fill in plot holes for both the three already-released games and KH3, meaning once we finish playing KH3, there will be no need for SE to make another KH game 'cause every plot hole will have been filled in and all the questions will have been answered. Get it?

Ahem, a bit off-topic there but, that's what I think all of this is leading up to.
