doesn't it annoy you....

..when the characters have that really really REALLY long stare/pause before they actually fight in anime?

 

Thats why I usually like the manga when it come it that stuff. They end it in one page. But in the animes it seems like a third of the ep. That and the same drawn out speech about how the hero won't ever lose or give up. Its like we get it you are going to win just do it and stop f***ing talking.

Bad guy:Foolish Brother (or any other family relative) you dont really think you can defeat me after all those years (Flashback about something that happened many years ago that made the angsty emo guy the person he is today)

Good guy:SHUT UP! (the usual response) im stronger now (rants on about his journey with his friends and crap. 93% of the time the bad guy wins this one.

 

No, it doesn't really annoy me. Maybe because I think the tension in the air of that anime is quite high. The text gets too predictable but apart from that, it's fine with me.

It completely depends on the situation.
If it's a good neccesary pause it's fun/tense.
If it's a boring one full with shiz niz, I don't really see the point of it and it can be a tiny bit annoying.

And then the second one sounds like Cloud and Sephiroth from KH2 -- Ah, rambling ^^. Anyway...

...It doesn't really annoy me, though I don't watch as much TV or anime to really care. Sombody SHOULD think of some other way of doing it, as it's kinda the norm. Btw, I have four words for you:

yes it does it actually wants to make me skip the stupid fight they're all saying i'm gonna kill you and blah blah blah and the other guy does the same thing and like 5 min of talking they fight

 

It annoy the crap out of me. I mean come on, kick someones *** already and get iot over with.

"I love her, so I'm gonna win!" -long pause-

"No...." -yet another long pause-

I mean, MOVE IT PEOPLE!

 

In DBZ,it's the worst.They have the little staring contest then they start screaming for what feels like forever.Imagine how the voice actors feel after that XD

All they do is talk for like, 36 episodes then they get to the fighting. IT ANNOYS ME TO HELL!

I swear there was entire story arc's dedictated to the screaming and staring alone.

 

The only exception was in KH1 when Cloud was in the Colliseum and Sephiroth appeared.Their face off was cool because they had the electricity going around them then they started hacking away at each other really fast.

 

They there is always an exception to the rule. Like the one you posted.

 

Its even worse when they are in the middle of a battle, then they start flashbacks and conversations that last like 3 episodes before they get back to the fighting.

 

Or when they go into indeph lengths on each others fighting ablities.

 

Or when they talk about what they are fighting for.

eg, world domination, love.

 

I actually like that, but only if it isn't waaay to long.
