Birth by Sleep Does she lie?

Maleficent could be trying to turn them against eachother, and Aqua seems to be both Vens and Terras saving grace, helping them step into the light.
Besides, don't you need a strong heart to hold the keyblade. Surely the keyblade would not have chosen Terra without a strong heart.

 

I don't think so because Terra runs off at a point, I think, and that's kid of what Riku did when he succumbed to darkness.

 

Riku's eyes are REALLY yellow in that screenshot, aren't they?​

It's obvious that Terra takes the role of Riku in the story, same name meanings, both are bigger? More in shape? Than the other characters, and both seem to have a strong connection with people named Ansem/Xehanort.
Malificent is obviously attracted to these kinds of dudes.​

I don't quite think that's why Riku wore the blindfold, but I agree with everything else. In the trailer, you just kind of get the impression that Terra is at least partially dark because of the sudden change in eye color.

So, yes, I do believe that Malificent was telling the truth.
