Nomura himself told that they made spin-offs just to keep the fanbase, so it is beyond discussion that those games were not planned at all beforehand, he wanted to do KH 3, though, so let's hope that KH3 will be stellar!
About KH II , I love it! I guess the problem some people have with it is that Disney worlds lost their importance in comparison with KH 1 (Hell for most of the game there were all there was) . At KH II all worlds just end up resolving themselves pretty much like the original movies making sora's adventure disconnected with them, even lessons that could have been passed by Disney characters were done within their on "Kh universe".

Riku only had 3 games doing his "i am dark, no I am not"(only two he was playable), is not like Sora that had a Heartless/Nobody/Data/Card version (all protagonists).

I guess we can excuse Riku if the writers manage to do something different with him in KH 3 other than be "tempted by darkness" or become Ansem/Dark to save Sora..

If not it will be best for the character to die, he lived all they could imagine for him to live anyway.

But again I think the problem is not the characters per se, but the plot that got stretched! It is like doing a "Batman & Robin summer vacation" so you can sell one more story.. even if you put some good things inside people will feel that it is a filler and won't enjoy as much, but it is not the characters fault.

They can fix a bad line, and in the end, a lot of good lines goes a long way to a good story. Riku and Axel DON'T have good lines. They have good catch phrases.
You're underestimating the power of the written word. It can give us context to things we probably don't need it for. While the exact words that could have saved BBS' plot elude me, and clearly you as well, I do believe they exist

Actually the one-liners are mediocre and not at all what I was talking about.

I know this isn't exactly an argument to the contrary but... this is really funny considering you're talking to a writer. :'D

Saved it? Doubtful. Brought it to the level of the original? Probably not. You overestimate written word and underestimate the impact of everything else. Writers don't tell stories by themselves, and storytelling is not just about florid language. What lacks in the later games in the series is as much writing as it is plot: The way events are arranged is sloppy, unfamiliar settings are given disproportionate amounts of weight, new characters are introduced which quickly become as important as the old without really earning it, nothing is as deliberate or meaningful as it was in the beginning... Not to mention many aesthetic elements become incongruous as a less uniform range of Disney movies is incorporated into the story. There are so many awkward and disjointed elements that don't just boil down to the script, even when you're just talking about the characters.

Good lines cannot fix these things because good lines have nothing to do with these things. These things will still be bad, no matter how good the writing is, and trying to improve them indirectly through quality of dialogue is both inefficient and utterly transparent. Riku will still be fighting the same boss in every game, half the worlds in KH2 will still be barely connected to the overarching plot, and Xehanort's time travel will still be really confusing. The amount of times I've tried to reconcile the plot holes in it should attest to that. Besides that, the translation's job is not to bandage something that's full of holes; it's to bring out the ideas expressed in the original work for a different audience. If the original work is sloppy, no amount of good writing will make it less sloppy. At best, it will have good writing and still be sloppy in other areas, perhaps attaining the illusion of being fixed, but not the reality. It's a wondrous art, but it has its limits.

I think that all the organization's members are very good characters[DOUBLEPOST=1383854101][/DOUBLEPOST]
I also think that some Disney world are bad in KH2 (Atlantica the worst, followed by Agrabah IMO) but I like some: Halloween Town, Beast's Castle, Pirates of Caribbean, Space Paranoids, Mulan (only the second visit), Hercules, and Timeless River
