Does having a friend with your name affect your friendship with them?

Well...My best friend has the same name as me...We have total trust with each other and both of us never had such a good friendship as we're having now...
Of course we got mad at each other sometimes but it's normal...to tell the truth, somtimes is good you guys fight...it makes the realationship with your friend even stronger...I'm telling you this because I perfectly know what I'm talking about...
As you can see...having the same name as your friend doesn't affect your realtionship...=)

If you talk about your other friends in general...well...that's another thing...I used to be the only Vanessa in my class until she (my best friend with the same name as me) appeared...My friends started to call her Vanessa and passed to call me...Vanessa Ideias...--' (ideias is my last name...) of course I started to feel a bit sad...I felt like they were pushing me away or something...but still...they are still my friends and that's all...nothing to worry about...^^

 

Not if people arent immature about it. I think it would make the two of you tighter as friends...having the same name...my name is slightly uncommon so its pretty cool to see someone else with it, lol.

 

Yeah thats awsome actually sometimes a little annoying .. it would be funny if ur name was penor and the other guy last name was ballz and ur mom would be like penor balls lololol yeah that should be funny yeah . then we all had a good time and go to sleep.

 

I have a cousin who has the same name and we are the best of friends, there are times when we get abit confused but apart from that we're good. It's best that you have nicknames for each other it'll make things alot easier lol

 

In my case I don't like anybody with the same names as me because they still somehow spell it wrong, i don't like it when people spell my name wrong

 

I don't know how having the same name as somebody is supposed to affect you either in any way.
I guess I wouldn't know because my name is really uncommon where I live in both males and females but even if I did find someone with my name, I wouldn't think much of it.

 

I didn't personally know anyone with my name until just recently. Yeah we became friends kinda, and yeah the convo did start with -on her part- "Like OMG my name's Gabriela too!"

I find it to be the wierdest thing sharing a name with someone. I think my name is pretty common but I don't know many people that have it. It's annoying to get called and you both turn around.

 

lol its alright with having a friend with ur name and u have other friends who know u and him lmao its so funny they yell out the name and both of us like respond to their call xD its so funny

 

I have five friends named Meg(h)an - and I think having the same name brought them together - and I get called Megan all the time accdnetlay because I'm best friends with all of them so it's kinda like a second name for me xD

 

I have quite an uncommon name, but I still managed to be an acquaintance of someone else with my name, although her's was spelled differently.

I was #1 and she was #2 because I was older, hah!

 

It could affect the friendship if both individuals feel it is a "problem," etc. But for me, I hardly know anyone with my name so it could get a little awkward, but not enough for me to be judging them and whatnot.

So, maybe it won't affect the friendship, but it can affect the attitudes of either party if they feel it's a problem of sorts.

 

People can easily have the same name from either religion,tradition, appeal of names and such. I don't exactly think that having the same name affects your friendship, it just comes to a conclusion that you and your friend that has the same name as you have a characteristic in common.
I think having the same name as someone else is a cool privelege to have, especially if that person that has the same name as you is close to you.
It all depends on how you look at things. The bad thing about having the same name as someone is if that person is someone who you don't envy that much, or don't happen to have a friendship with. It all happens at times, it is just the way you deal with that matter.

 

I've got a semi-friend with the same name. It does bring us a little closer, because we make corny jokes and always walk by each other saying "...!" It does make things a little confusing when people call one of us. We're trying to think of a distinction, but I always end up as "BIG ...." Which really isn't flattering. D:

 

I have a guy in my year that has the same first name, and last name... kinda scary....

anyways we have a semi friendship but i dont see how having the same name could affect the friendship, unless you get called Bryan 2 and he gets called Bryan 1 :(

 

wow and last name it is kinda scary anyways no i think itd make your friendship kooler because you could be like whats up bryan nothing bryan and randomly use eachothers names alot in the same sentence for no reason :)
other than that no i think itd be normal
