    Okay, now time for some thoughts on yesterday. In the words of the 9th Doctor, it was absolutely FANTASTIC!

    Alright, first thing's first, the episode itself:

    I absolutely LOVED it! Smith and Coleman did terrific jobs! I'm even more interested in the Great Intelligence. I'm scared of the Wi-fi now :D. And U.N.I.T's appearance always puts a smile on my face. It's great that the episode continues the whole independent story format of Series 7, where, while there may be a few references to past episodes, it's not necessary to know them in order to enjoy the episode. Moffat has really done a good job with Series 7. I have to say, it's episodes like this that prove to me that, in my opinion, Series 7 is vastly superior to Series 5 and 6 combined. I guess it's Moffat's luck number 7. Or maybe it's third time's the charm for him. Okay, I'll stop :). Also, it's interesting to note that this episode felt very much like the episode "Rose" (one of the reviews for the episode that I read made the same connection). Which is no wonder why I loved it so much. "Rose" was not only the episode that brought back the revived DW series back. It was also the episode that introduced my favorite DW companion, Rose Tyler. There were just so many things I loved about her. I was so sad to see her departure from the show. And I was so happy for her when Meta-Doctor stayed with her. In short, no other companion of the Doctor touched my heart the same way she did. Now, I'm not saying the other companions were bad. It's just, they didn't have the same effect on me that Rose had. The companions that were very close to doing so were Wilfred Mott, Craig Owens, and Brian Williams. But there time in the show was, unfortunately, short. However, that may have finally changed when Clara came along. There's just so much about her that I love that I may have finally found the companion that touches my heart just as much Rose. I'm not paying too much attention to all the theories you guys are making about Clara. But while I don't believe this whole daughter of Rose and TenToo nonsense (there's just too much to contradict such a theory), if it does somehow end up being true, then I guess that there is why I love Clara just as much as Rose (without even knowing it :p). Anyway, back to the episode. I find myself liking the 11th Doctor a lot more in this series. I think I like him just as much as 9 now (but not as much as 10, because no one can ever replace him for me :)). The spoonheads were definitely interesting new villains. And the return of the Great Intelligence has me more interested in it than ever before. It's funny how a villain that only appeared twice in Classic Who can be made into a very intriguing villain in NuWho. Overall, FANTASTIC episode! Can't wait for the rest of Series 7!

    And as for yesterday's announcement that David Tennant and Billie Piper will be returning for the 50th anniversary episode:

    AAAAAHHHHHH!!! F*** YESSSSSSS!!!!! KNFDLWNFLWNFLWNFRLNWFLN!!!!!!!!

    That there shows just how excited that announcement made me. Tennant has, and will always be, my doctor! And I've stated in the above paragraph, Rose is my favorite companion. So the very thought of her and Clara (my other favorite companion), together, has me extremely excited! Those two alone will make the 50th anniversary episode worth whatever it is theaters charge for a 3D movie these days. I can guarantee that I WILL do whatever it takes to go see the anniversary episode in a theater.

    So, to sum up, I think yesterday was the best day for Doctor Who in a very long time. I even celebrated by having a chocolate souffle. But it wasn't made by Clara. Or was it... ;)

    When I am prem, will you be the 11 to my Clara? *u*

    Totally on topic because souffles

    Anyway:

    This has me very excited as well! I don't much care for Rose, but Billie Piper is a fantastic actress! David Tennant is my favorite Doctor and an amazing actor as well, so seeing these two return fills my heart with rainbows!

    Okay, so in order of response . . .

    I was always pretty sure that The Doctor absorbed the energy to save her life. Aside from that, TenToo is human. I don't think, even with his brilliance, he'd be able to build a TARDIS from scratch. Considering it took quite a lot of work for The Doctor to make one in a junkyard of TARDISes. They might be in an a different dimension, but their resources would still be pretty limited. I can't see it being as simple as Clara being their child. She appears throughout history, has died twice, and is strongly linked to The Doctor. I don't think it's very likely.

    I definitely believe it was River who gave Clara the number. Who else would know the number? Not to mention the fact that when I heard Clara tell Doctor who gave her the number, River popped into my mind. This is more than likely right. Then again Moffat and his crazy ways >.<

    It looks like a very, VERY, slim chance that this is related. In "The Idiot's Lantern" the faces were taken, as well as the consciousness I suppose. I wouldn't put too much faith in it. Of course Moffat probably linked the two with the conscious stealing and threw the motorbike in, because he's Moffat. lol

    As for Jenny, we only got to see her for a very limited time. She didn't regenerate as she was flying off in the ship. So whether she can regenerate or not is unknown. My speculation would be yes, since she was created using Time Lord DNA. It's more likely that she could regenerate than it would be for River. Seeing as River was the daughter of two humans who happened to time travel, and Jenny is an actual Time Lord. I was disappointed we didn't get to see anymore of her, and I felt really bad for The Doctor.

    So, none of that screamed "MARY SUE" to you? Really? Yeah, part of why I doubt such idiocy would happen is because Moffat is not that bad of a writer. Rose was an awful character.

    First season: She was a decent companion with a lot of room for great character development.

    Second season: Mary ****ing Sue. What development she got from the first season was forgotten. She went back to being a complete ***** to her family. She got pissy at the Doctor and jealous of Sarah Jane simply because the Doctor had traveled with others before. She spent the entirety of "Tooth and Claw" doing a running gag that wasn't funny in the first place. She never fell in love with the 9th, but immediately fell in love with the 10th (likely because he's young and attractive now). She had a longer and more elaborate send-off than ANY OF THE DOCTORS.

    In season 3, the Doctor spent the entire season whining because he lost Rose, acting like she had died... when she was perfectly fine in another universe. Davies put her on such a pedestal that there was no way that he would allow any companion to be her equal (thus causing Martha to leave because she realized that she couldn't be Rose. How Donna not only managed to be a good character, but the best companion of the Davies era is beyond me).

    In season 4, she NEARLY DESTROYED THE MULTIVERSE to try to be with the Doctor. When the Doctor's clone was created (using a lot of other bullshit, but this is about Rose), she started making out with him... right in front of the Doctor, because apparently the clone is a good enough replacement.

    If you really think Moffat is stupid enough to perpetuate this, then you're an idiot.

    I believe you've posted something along these lines before--I personally really like Rose as a companion, and I could argue you on one or two of these points (though I definitely agree with you that the clone business was a little weird, how she completely just switched her affections), but you're welcome to dislike a companion. I don't think Moffat would completely discard someone who has been such a big deal for the past four series, though, even if he felt similarly to you. Billie Piper returning alone would get a lot of people to watch the show who may have lost interest over the years.

    *cough* 50th special *cough* . . . >.>

    I'm pretty sure Rose switching sides so quickly was more for The Doctors sake, to see that she had moved on, when she really hadn't. Obviously. How do you move on from The Doctor? As for being important. I think she got her spot in the light. I also got tired of her after so long. Just like Amy/Rory. It got boring. I think that a character should be able to go that long without the viewer losing interest, but logic doesn't apply to Doctor Who.

    I could see the special being a hit, because it's nice to see old faces once in a while. But as for a role in the new season . . . I wouldn't care for it. Maybe you're right and that's what Moffat is doing, and so long as she doesn't get a major role, i'll be alright. I just think the past companions should stay in the past, or future, or present . . . I'm not sure.

    I agree that it's a bad idea to keep companions for a long time, but it feels good to see them again after such a long time. Just look at Sarah Jane Smith. I'm sure classic Who fans were ecstatic with her return to the show.

    Yeah, I was more commenting on the idiotic theory of "Clara is Rose's daughter." Rose being in the 50th anniversary is easy: it falls on the 10th's timeline between regeneration and Rose's departure.

    Exactly. Sarah's return to the show sent the classic Whovians into an uproar. Not to mention K-9, lol

    But when you see the same face over and over again, there begins a loss of interest. Even The Doctor has a change of face every now and then. Sad as it may be to see them go, we learn to love the new Doctors. I wasn't really sad to see Eccleston go though. I never really liked him as The Doctor anyway. Well, I liked him, but I didn't like him. It's a paradox.

    The only exception to bringing up the past is the plot points. So if Rose were to play into a plot point, and not make an actual return to the show, I think that'd be fine. After all, I love how Moffat ties all those seemingly meaningless moments, into a wonderfully magnificent arc. The Silence is a prime example.

    Well, I'm just hoping Moffat doesn't let us all down with the new season. He's got a good start going with Clara, so we'll just have to wait and see how things go.

    Yes, but lately, it hasn't been over and over again for some time (except for Amy, Rory, River, and 11), so it makes sense to bring them back. Besides, it's an anniversary year. That alone is the best excuse ever

    Just saw the first episode of 7 part 2. I thought it was a nice starter for the second portion of the season, surprised that
    Clara doesn't die for once.

    I also thought the idea of uploading people was an interesting concept, unrealistic but interesting.

    As for the 50th, I assume da Ponds aren't showing? ;;

    Nah, I don't think the Ponds will ever make a cameo because they said it would ruin their goodbye episode making it less special. Which is sad but I have to agree personally as their last episode was amazing and I don't want it ruined by them turning up so the Doctor can be all like "HAI GUYS!" again.

    I think it's a bit too soon for the Ponds to return. It hasn't even been a year since their departure. Maybe they can come back for the 60th?

    That would be reasonable but I dunno.

    Yeah Enzy I'll have to agree with you there. Even though they are gone, I have to constantly remind myself that Karen Gillan is still in our current era being sexy.

    Yeah, and I like the idea that she is living through her books (like Summer Falls) which kind of links to the world of literature- like with series 4 episode "The Unicorn and the Wasp" where the Doctor shows Agatha Christies' books lasting forever basically.

    Yeah, I enjoy those little book cameos as well. They're clever on Moffat's part and still allow fans to enjoy their lovely Williams Pond.

    Still, in regards to a possible appearance, I have to agree with Enzy. A cameo of any sort would ruin The Angels Take Manhattan, for myself and for many others.

    I've got terrible news everyone. The iconic police box will be gone forever after the Series 7 finale! ;~;

    I hate you, I got really mad and upset before I realised. You did post it on the 2nd here though but isn't it after 12 in your time zone, after 12 the jokes on you. But no, they could never do that and there would be an uproar if they did.

    For a split second, I almost believed this.
    never was good with April Fools jokes ;-;

    There is no changing our sexy. She will always be a Police Box, albeit with a few stickers added or removed every now and then.

    Ok, joking aside, there was a script readthrough this weekend which involved David Tennant and Matt Smith:

    And here's a look at the script covers:

    This is all just too exciting!
