Lots of news recently. First of all, here's a new trailer:

Also, the "movie-style" posters from the first half of Series 7 have returned, with the following released for the first four episodes of the second half of Series 7:

Also, Smith discussed the 50th anniversary recently, and when asked if there are any past Doctors returning, he said, "If I told you, I'd have to kill you!"
Interestingly, I think it's the same exact words Christopher Eccleston used when an interviewer when asked him about the 50th anniversary.

Ooh, I do enjoy those posters (particularly "Cold War" and "Hide"; I'd probably buy them if they were available).

Also, a teaser for the 50th Anniversary Special from BBC One.

Honestly, I do not like where this seems to be going. His name is always supposed to be hidden, and yet they're throwing the Fields of Trenzalore in the fandom's face. Still, I am hoping that it will live up to all of our expectations.

[DOUBLEPOST=1363570102][/DOUBLEPOST]Also if you look closely at the trailer, the Doctor is wearing the same space suit he wore as the 10th Doctor:

Looks like filming will begin in April, not today as previously mentioned. But, a source from the BBC had this to say:

Can't wait to watch this. This is gonna be fantastic. Also can't wait for more episodes. It's just, getting to see a movie, with multiple Doctor's in it, is a work of art alone.

I do hope when they say around the world they mean AROUND the world. Although, wouldn't it be difficult to market in places where the show doesn't actually show..?

    That... could be a problem...
Still, I think it's best to wait until the release is close (when we all have more info) before asking your local theatre.

Oh good god, if this is in IMAX 3D I will be shelling out the cash.

I'm also glad that the BBC hasn't forgotten about the rest of the world in all of this. <3

I'm still confused as to if the 50th Anniversary episode is to play, and THEN season 7 part 2 comes rolling out, or if it's a part of part 2.

It's independent of Series 7, as it looks like it'll be released November, which is officially Doctor Who's 50th anniversary month

I read somewhere that there was a Doctor Who movie released in American theaters long long ago, before it was known outside England.. It was a total box office flop. I'd want a worldwide release more than anything but it seems unlikely to me that we'll get it everywhere.

Actually, the only Doctor Who movie ever made was the 1996 TV movie with the 8th Doctor. It wasn't released to theaters, but it's ratings in the U.S. were terrible.

Well I'll take a look at it again, but I recall reading about some kind of a Doctor Who special event that failed in the US in a book about Doctor Who that was published in the 80's (which I found at our school library). It was a sort of non-fiction timeline of Doctor Who events.

I highly doubt it's a movie. Trust me, I've spent more time on the DW wiki than I should've. I'm guessing they were showing episodes of the show in theaters for a limited time or something. Regardless, that was then. The world has changed. DW is popular now, even in the U.S.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Who_(film)

There was a Doctor Who film, shortly after it had been suspended as the first attempt to revive it. From what I've seen said about it though, it wasn't very good and probably worth forgetting.

'You can't remember the plot of the Dr Who movie because it didn't have one, just a lot of plot holes strung together. It did have a lot of flashing lights, though.'

Yeah, that was the 1996 TV movie, the only time the 8th Doctor ever made an appearance.
