As do I, I keep wondering about the 50th. Will they bring back a baddie from the old series or come out with something new. I like the snowman because it was a new villain but a old villain at the same time. (The doctor never faced snowman before but he has faced The "Great Intelligence" before in the classic who.) If they do bring back a classic villain I wonder who? The Master, Darvos, and Lord President Gallfrey and all of the Timelords have already been used, so I am stumped. Will it have some thing to do with Trensalore and will we learn the doctors name? If we do how will that impact the series? The Doctor said to a few of his past companions that his name was unpronounceable. He also said that some Gallfrain words could raise empires or destroy gods. So maybe that's why the silence don't want the doctor to reveal his name in fear it would kill them all.
    ....
Or maybe I'm just rambling.... as if!
    hahaha

So 2 questions now pop in my mind one is of course Ms. Clara Oswin Oswald. (which is a topic I kept quite about) I was hoping she was the same person and not 2 different characters. The Woman Twice Dead.... She is herself a living paradox or in the words of the doctor "She Is not possible!!!" I already see she is the theme of the rest of this season. What I mean by theme is there is always something that connects the episodes. Be it a phrase like bad wolf or a person like Donna or in this case Clara. So I would like to know of course her story.

and my second question is about River Song. I don't want her to leave the show but unless doctor can rewrite time it is going to happen. The thing is before she dies she tells the tenth doctor his name. She doesn't know his name yet. (I think) so could the 50th be where the doctor tells River his name? Could that be the last time we hear "Hello Sweetie" (The doctor could of course visit her inside the library, but he almost never visits any of his past friends.)

Ok i'm done rambling and if you actually read all of this you have my respect. Now where is my fez? (jk don't have 1 but I do have a TARDIS shirt, a red bowtie :) and a pin that says fez and bowties are cool... cause they are. :D

I certainly read all that, and I am respected by you.:) Anyway, there are many villains they can get, and some may even return. Steven Moffat said that if he ever brings back the Master, it will be John Simm, so who knows. And there are certainly some unused classic villains that could return for the anniversary.

However, I highly doubt the whole thing with Trenzalore will happen in the 50th anniversary episode, since Matt Smith said he will still be the Doctor after the 50th anniversary, and Trenzalore is supposed to be about the "fall of the Eleventh," which would most likely be when the 11th Doctor dies (unless Moffat decides to troll us... again).

One thing I am worried about the 50th anniversary is that it'll be too much of a Classic Who fan service. Now I'm not against having things from the Classic era appearing in the anniversary episode. On the contrary, I actually want them to include lots of Classic Who in the 50th anniversary episode. But I don't want it to be done at the cost of ignoring the revived series. After all, this anniversary episode wouldn't have been possible without the revived series. Moffat said in the video he doesn't want to disappoint anyone with the special. Well, if he can at least bring a regular from Series 1 - The End of Time (my favorite DW era) like Capt. Jack, I'll be satisfied. Just don't forget us fans of the revived series is all I'm asking.

Oh, and Clara is now my favorite 11th Doctor companion.

;~; Mah wee heart has been crushed...

But in all seriousness, I do think Clara will be a good companion, definitely a lot more bubbly and "intellectual"?

Well this 50th anniversary rumor came up. I repeat, RUMOR:

    http://doctorwhotv.co.uk/the-eleven-doctors-50th-rumour-44674.htm

Now it would be great to see classic doctors interacting with 9, 10, and 11, I really don't think the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Doctors need to be in it. Not that I'm against the idea, but simply out of respect for William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee, because I really don't think anyone can replace them, even if it is just a small scene.

EDIT: Colin Baker (6th Doctor) denied any involvement with the 50th anniversary episode.

The 2013 line up looks good though, I must admit.

I wonder how much longer they'll have Matt Smith around.

From what my mother read around the time that Asylum of the Daleks aired, he's signed on until at least the end of series eight, I believe. I'll look for a link later.

Glad to see that the special we've all been writing fanfics about is now a canon thing, but if they delay series eight I will personally slap Moffat in his fat face. >:L

Get in line, I've wanted to slap his face ever since he became the writer. ヽ( `Д´)ノ

Well if that's the case, and they don't release series 8 until next year, we at least have Smith for a while longer!

Yeah, at least. Also, anyone have any news on what the new episode is at least called? I'm curious.

I'm really excited for Series 7 to complete, I don't like how much it has been delayed. The 50th Anniversary special does sound exciting but, having little knowledge or experience with Classic Who, I'm afraid I can't get properly excited for it.

I do think Matt Smith will remain around for a bit longer, from The Wedding of River Song I believe the implication was
that he would regenerate at the fields of Trenzalore (the fall of the Eleventh).
I love him quite dearly, I am open to the idea of a new Doctor but I will be sad to see him go when he does.

    Everything about this is yes.

But on the plus side, Moffat has said he's been considering making the 12th Doctor a Time Lady.
    jiggle jiggle?

I don't know a lot about the Time Lord regeneration rules so I'm unsure if this is a legitimate possibility but I do think it could be an interesting dynamic. Moffat has received criticism for his treatment of females (some of which I agree with, a lot I don't), so I would be interested to see how he carries a female Doctor. However, it could also put some elements of the show upside down,
like the Doctor's wedding to/relationship with River Song. However, after The Snowmen it does seem the show is willing to portray lesbian married couples. We also don't know how much longer River will be in the show, but that's beside the point.
But it would be exciting for me, as a feminist, to see a female Doctor.

Phantom of the Hex is actually the fourth episode of Series 7.2. The first episode is The Bells of Saint John, featuring monsters in the wi-fi. Moffat hits us where it hurts the most...

    ...Anyhoo:

    I also believe that that is what's implied for Eleven's fate. I'll be quite upset when he goes; Matt's was my first Doctor (another reason why THE ANGELS TAKE MANHATTAN WAS NOT OKAY). ;_;

I'm pretty sure that it was outright said somewhere in Series 6 that Time Lords can change gender when they regenerate, so the idea of a female Doctor is quite possible (and was a serious red herring throughout the first half of the season, with everyone thinking River was the Twelfth Doctor). It'll be really interesting if they do actually go that route; it'll give the show a whole new dynamic. (All the recent "main" companions of NewWho have been girls [Rose, Martha, Donna, Amy, and Clara]; we'd maybe finally get some main guy companions?)

I did come up with an idea recently, and it rather frightens me for Eleven's sake (even though it may not be true if Naoto's right) :

What if the 50th Anniversary special has the Doctor regenerate into the Twelfth?

Not gonna happen. Matt Smith said he will still be the Doctor after the anniversary episode. He'll probably regenerate at the end of Series 8
