Well I dont think he diserved to die, he chose to die... if you pay attention he said that he put his intire being into an attack, actually I wish he didnt die at all but I guess Axel didnt have a choice (sure wish he did though)

As for Axel, I don't think he deserved to die. He wasn't a bad guy towards Sora at the end of the game, he helped him when he was surrounded by all those Nobodies and even sacrificed himself so Sora could continue.

I won't want him to stay alive either. Him dying added to the drama.

I don't think he necessarily deserved to die or to be spared. He did what he felt was right, and gave up his own life. Its not a matter of whether or not he deserved it, because he did it of his own will.

 

Yes, and if there was a hell for nobodies to go, he'd would be in there. He has commited murder. So yes, I think that he should have died.

 

No but he did overwork himself so he kind of brought it upon himself.

 

hey, didnt he die TWICE? roxas fought him, then he disapears. then he reappears later, kamikaze's, then disapears in the same way......weird. were they just data copies? did he actually die? last time i checked nobodies dont die twice.

 

I don't think he 'deserved' to die. He had changed a lot of things about himself and grown as a person despite being a Nobody and all the hang ups that brings about. He was dastardly in CoM but he was pretty missioned to have to be so with his title in the Org and his honor that he took in completing his jobs. He was also protective of Roxas even then and dealt with Vexen at a key point when Vexen might have told Sora too much.

Axel did change things around for himself and sacrificed himself so that Sora/Roxas could go on and do things and stop Xemnas. He knew it was the right thing to do (at least to him) and did so with a devotion to friendship few people with Hearts show. I don't think anyone would say someone who actually did a whole switch around in character and actually also asked for forgiveness would 'deserve' to die. He was sincere. However, since no one actually went to kill him any way and he did what he did of his own volition, it's not so much a debate.

 

I'll just vote 'uh...?' because, it's different cases. He may have been heroic, but he didn't hesitate to kill in CoM... if you say that the Organization didn't deserve pity, then what about Namine? She did not do anything wrong and Axel was willing to finish her off, since she was a shield of Marluxia's at that time...

So, yeah. Heroic or not, he's had his share of villainous deeds.

 

Axel should have died to make the story good. But I wish he wouldnt have.

 

If you even look at the scene with Axel and Marluxia, Axel never even -had a chance- to attack Marluxia once he hid behind Namine and then Sora rushed in after Axel said what he did. I doubt Axel would have just chopped through Namine to get to Marluxia and Namine was no angel. She sat there and manipulated Sora's dreams through force and she did worse to Riku, who she didn't even bother to help. She also messed up Riku Replica very badly and never even apologized to him even after he saved her life by attacking Marluxia in a surprise attack. Sora showed he had a lot more depth than Namine did, and so did the Riku Replica.

In the end though, due to how fast Sora comes in and Marluxia tells Sora that Axel is going to attack him and Namine...you really never know what Axel was going to exactly do. He may just have tried to toss her to the side or something and well, Marluxia did traitor and had no regards for the other Org members at all or any honor for that matter, hiding behind a girl like that and yet trying to be so big. I think the worst thing Axel did in CoM was probably getting the Riku Replica to get rid of Zexion and then setting him up to die at the hands of Riku who was very hurt by it all. I'd consider that the worse crime than Namine's deal since there's nothing showing what he would have done. It'd have been different if Axel actually did anything in the scene at all with Marluxia. In my opinion, really, Sora should have questioned the scene more and probably Axel and Sora could have dealt with Marluxia's Replica easier, but Sora was also having memory issues.

I do agree he had his share of villainous things he had done, but he also changed and the Org itself was a nest of deception. He did what he needed to in order to survive. It's clear all of them in some way or another feared the 'Superior'.

Meh, he used all his energy. I would have delt with the nobodies.

 

Axel was the perfect best friend! I wouldn't have expected him to die! ;(

I don't think he deserved to die...but I don't see how the story could have made it any other way. It wrapped things up very nicely...very dramatically...and of course gives me a ton of fodder for the fanfiction I write. :D It was still sad though...if you're talking about how his good outweighs his bad....I'm of the opinon that he did what had to do to survive in the Organization.

And of course I'm an akuroku shipper so I thought it was all very.... loving and such. :)
