Do you think there should be more FF in KH?

I don't know if there should be more FF characters, but I was surprised at what how little FF I saw when I played it after being told it would be an FF/Disney mash-up. It seemed to be more Disney with bits of FF thrown in there. The main characters are FF-ish looking (perhaps because of the Nomura and his love of zippers and buckles they have in common), but I still saw them as original anime creations.

I know the menu style is vaguely reminiscent of FF, and the abilities and leveling up and equipping items and synthesis (with moogles!) is a lot like it as well, but since KH is mostly an action game I wouldn't say that aspect was FF per se...just FF influenced.

 

I'd be disappointed if they didn't include some of the main characters from the earlier games (I don't see why they can't). To be honest I'd like to see some FF worlds included alongside the Disney worlds - it'd be a nice mix up.

Though, I'd be very happy with Lightning and Fang in KH3. xD

 

Of course you would Kitty, but in all fairness I agree with you on your first point. I mean, the only reason I can see them not using the older characters is because they aren't as well known outside of the fanbase as the VII and onward games. I mean, having Setzer (Setzeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer) in KH2 was a stretch almost I think.

Not to mention a bunch of the old games are getting re-released; FFI and II were released on the PSP not long ago, III was on the DS, IV was on the DS and is being re-released on the PSP, V was on the GBA, and VI is being released on the PSN.

I don't think it's a question of things not being well known, in fact KH would be a good way to expose a younger generation to the older games. I really would like to see some of the knight-based characters in future games, like if there is a game set during the Keyblade Wars, perhaps in the world Radiant Garden was before it was populated and modernized.

 

I think Lightning would fit really well in KH. I can see Sora replace Hopes role or whatever.

 

One final fantasy character, that no one has mention let, that I think would be cool to see in a Kh game is Bartz from final fantasy 5. I just think due to their similar personalities Bartz and Sora would get along well with each other.

 

i do think that there should be more FF characters, simply because FF is awesome. Kefka would definitly work, maybe as a secret boss, and i wouldnt mind seeing Kuja in there as well. More IX characters, for sure, and maybe Kain from III could come in, hang out with Riku a bit. i think they would be friends because they both betrayed their best friends (in some way or another), went over to the 'dark side', then later, came back and became awesome party members. I think Zidane would make a good addition, but explaining his tail might be a bit of a problem.

a FF world would add something to the game, rather than take away. all of the worlds so far have been Disney, with the exception of Twilight Town, Traverse Town, TWTNW, Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion, End of the World, Keyblade Graveyard and Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion. and maybe the Dark Margin, but thats not accessible by Gummi Ship. all original worlds. even a single FF world could add a bit of variety to the game

for example: the world's name is Gaia. Fields, forests, ocean scape, city, any type of terrain you could want in one world. you crash your Gummi ship there (slight malfunction) and ask Balthier to fix it. while youre there, Zidane gives you a tour, you run into some Heartless, some Nobodies, dispatch them. You're granted an audience with Queen Garnet and Princess Sara (III), who rules the neighboring kingdom. They tell you that theyre having trouble with Kefka and Kuja, who are on the verge of becoming VERY strong Heartless. you offer to defeat them, vanquish the darkness, ect. Kuja goes insane-r, turns into a Heartless and Nobody that you have to defeat later in a different world, Zidane convinces Kuja to stop being evil. world saved. expand as needed

 

i would to say i would like to see more ff such as ff10 world blitz ball would be a cool mini game for kingdome hearts

I think it would be nice to see more FF characters in the game, since they already have quite a few here and there. I would really like to see maybe an older Tidus, definately Jecht, Auron, Rinoa, and a few others that stick out a bit.

 

The sheer volume and diversity of FF characters, timelines, and outcomes makes it unlikely to be a solid choice to incorporate anymore into the world(s) of KH. KH stands out because of the integration, and by disrupting the balance between Disney and FF heroes/villians, then Sora's story becomes lost in everything FF

 

There's a certain point, though, where enough Final Fantasy would be TOO MUCH Final Fantasy. This is Kingdom Hearts, not Final Fantasy Crossover.

 

yeah, but come on, the most Final Fantasy we've seen so far is Leon, Yuffie, Cid, Aerith, Cloud, and Sephiroth. Auron was nice, but he didn't seem all that major compared to the others. I think they could do with a little more, because compared to how much worlds we play in, we hardly see them at all. Granted there were quite a few more in KHII compared to the first, but that was just because they added the Disciplinary Committee, Auron, and Tiffa. I'm not saying add so much that it becomes a Final Fantasy Crossover, but I don't think it would be the same without some Final Fantasy Characters

 

I don't think we need anymore Final Fantasy -characters- as we already have Aerith, Auron, Cid, Cloud, Fuu, The Gullwings, Leon, Moogles, Rai, Seifer, Selphie, Sephiroth, Setzer, Tidus, Tifa, Vivi, Wakka, Yuffie and Zack. That's at least 20, when counting the Gullwings as separate people. However, I do think there needs to be less Disney worlds and more Final Fantasy worlds. The game really just seems to be three characters being made teh *****es of people who can't do things for themselves, while trying to deal with an evil league of villains constantly attempting murder. In the first KH game, fighting Cloud was all "Yeah Cloud!" Now his cameo on KH2 was like "Yay for you..." Birth by Sleep replaced Cloud with Zack, in an attempt to rekindle some Final Fantasy lovin'. For me, it's getting kinda boring, seeing the same characters again and again. Perhaps, instead of having the same characters, they could remove the old ones, and replace them with new ones, like the cast from 12 and 13 and bring back older characters from 1 - 6. Honestly, Final Fantasy 7 wasn't that good, so stop using them as a main sales point, right? But that's what I think.

 

It isn't so much a matter of my desiring that Final Fantasy characters play a larger role in the games. I just want to see more of them in terms of variety. Zidane or Garnet would be cool additions, or even characters from XII or Tactics. Heck, just throw a few in as colosseum matches for hidden easter eggs. That would be cool. Outside of KH II, all we have gotten is a handful of characters from VII and VIII. Last I checked, there were thirteen major final fantasy installments and numerous spin off titles. Square clearly isn't using all of their resources. ​

 

Oh well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But I partially agree with you guys; I just like having Final Fantasy with Kingdom Hearts. And I think they used characters from VII and VIII because they were one of the most famous. I wouldn't mind having characters from other games, but I don't really know how they would fit in. I might just like having Final Fantasy characters in it because I basically grew up with those games. I hardly played anything else. I would play them hours on end, retrying the whole game or whatever. That...and it might be because Final Fantasy is one of the things Square Enix is best known for

I would love going to a final fantasy world in Kingdom Hearts, but they won't do that

 

I really think there should be more FF, less Disney. I mean, Disney is kind of what makes us embarrassed to play Kingdom Hearts.

 

I actually think that S-E did a pretty good job with the amount of Final Fantasy characters they put in the game and don't see the need to put in any more than they did. I'm glad they were able to create an entirely new cast of characters because if there were more FF characters it would almost seem like a FF spin-off and I think that's just too much since the game is called "Kingdom Hearts" and FF already has so many spin-offs.

Probably because of the time shift to ten years prior to Kingdom Hearts 1. The Final Fantasy heroes would have been in their teens most probably.
