You know that rumor where they say that the whole walk on the moon was a big fat lie, and how the Americans are all believing it.
    What do you think?

I lol'd when I heard about this, I mean why do we have to lie about the landing on the moon just to get brownie points and be "Awesome America" and stuff like that. I think it happened, but we will never really know, because we were not there.

This is the first time I'm hearing about this rumor [IMG] I've never doubted that man set foot on the moon. If it was just a hoax, then why lie about something like that?

Maybe to get popularity? Maybe to get money for NASA? I don't really know, but I heard this a few years ago.

    I think it was true.

For instance, the person would have walked on the moon, and laid the flag would still leave his footprints, and the flag there.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to discern when those footprints were made, so we're stuck with a half lie/truth.

Personally, I think it was a lie, that they did it shortly after announcing that a man walked on the moon.

I've not seen any footage of the landing or any interviews that relate to the moon landing, without either no one coulde make a reliable assumption on whether it waws a hoax or not.
It wouldn't surprise me that the American Government tricked the world into believing it really happened, but then again it's not easy to know what the government really want, maybe to win the Space Race and all, but it's not something that could be found out.

Maybe a few satiellite images from different governments and organisations on the spot where the flag was supposedly stuck into the ground, I might believe it more, but without seeing it and feeling it on the moon, I won't ever be convinced.

It's easy enough to believe it's real considering we can go to the moon, make a space station, send things to Mars etc. Really, if the moon walk didn't happen, we'd not be where we are today. This is one conspiracy theory that is just lame in my eyes.

I’ve actually heard about this rumor. The whole “landing on the moon” thing may actually be false. My Science teacher in 2007 explained to us how they never actually let TV crews and reporters plug their equipment into the video recording of the actual event. If you look back at all the evidence of the Moon Landing, you’d be able to see that all of it is quite blurry and not of good quality. Why not let them plug in their equipment to air it properly? I don’t think that it’s going to screw up the transmission, so it could all be a scheme/hoax, right?

There’s another thing that I’ve been wondering about, it’s the fact that if there is no atmospheric pressure on the moon and that everything that tries to come into contact with the surface of the moon will just float. So how did they land the rocket ship? Did they pin-prick it or something? Were there spikes that dug into the ground of the moon’s surface? Otherwise, wouldn’t Neil Armstrong and his team be screwed?

But then again, the solar system has been studied for hundreds of years now, so all the information that they have could and probably is correct. However, we have the Russians who said that it was too dangerous to land on the moon or something like that right? And then the Americans went and did it anyway…

You could argue both sides of the point here, but which one has more evidence to show? Me, personally, I think it could’ve been a hoax.

In 1969 I would think that it would've been quite tricky and dangerous to send a man to the moon. They sent a monkey and a dog or something didn't they? But now, with Modern Day technology and everything, who knows, maybe our next favourite vacation spot will be The Moon.

Yes we did land on the moon, If the Russias had even a slight hint towards it being fake they would have called foul and called us out.
The only think that makes me doubt is the fact we haven't been back in so long. With all the advances in tech we could go there and back easily.
Censorship. If they had died live on TV, with the entire world watching that wouldn't have been the best thing.
    Gravity and rockets
I don't think so, but the lunar landers base is still on the moon, I think
Not really. Yes the moon has no atomsphere, but it still has gravity which kept the the guys down to the surface.
They were going to do it themselves. They landed the first unmanned machine on the moon. They were going to go.
    Hopefully soon

Oh I remember this theory. Well, I don't really give a shit if the Americans faked it or not since they can be big headed when it comes to popularity, winning and everything else.
I've yet to see the clip myself but there is a good point about the flag seeming to blow in the wind and there’s meant to be no wind on the moon. So, i'm going to see the footage before I can honestly say that the rumour is true or not. But if you had to ask me "Do you think the Americans would fake the moon landing?" Then i'd say yes. But if you asked me "Did the Americans fake the moon landing?" then i'd say I don't know.

Besides, even if they did or didn't fake the moon landing, how come no ones gone back?

Though, i'm gonna say it again, I don't give a shit.
I'd say more but I don't feel like starting ****, as I know what I want to say in full would start ****.

I don't know, and personally I don't really give a crap anyways. I don't think there was a real point to put man on the moon, it was really the US and Russia competing to see how big each other's willy was. It was, in my opinion, a waste of money that could have been put to much better use.
I don't doubt it was real. Right now, I would lean towards it being real. But I wouldn't be uber surprised if someone proved it wrong.

Personally, I think the whole 'man on the moon hoax rumor' was a lie made by some fed up Neil Armstrong wanna be. We are on the moon today, we are not wasting our money on this, nor have we ever.

Honestly, I've never been a big fan of conspiracy theories. They all seem ridiculous. This one included. I understand the whole flag blowing theory, but seriously, what does it matter now? Even if it was a hoax, what is it going to change?

I agree with Ashwa, I never understand why people insist on questioning these things? If we do prove it never really happened what is it going to be, 'boohoo the government lied to us 40 years ago?' No point in spending time trying to disprove something happened almost a half a century ago when we could oh I dunno, cure cancer? o:

Who really cares anymore? I mean it happened ages ago. Even if we did prove it to be wrong, we would get over it in like a day. I haven't seen the footage so I can't go either way, but we proved we can go to space, so does it matter?

  19. To be perfectly honest, I don't really care whether it was truthfully a hoax or not. Granted, I've seen specials on it, and some proof as to why it is questionable, but that was too long ago in 1969, and, it really shouldn't matter now considering how much we've progressed on that area. It happened, did not happen, but it changed things nonetheless. And if we didn't back then, we do now. Whether it was an arms race between the US and Russia as to who can reach the moon first, the real answer does not pertain to the future. Except make Neil Armstrong a fluke, and give the US a bad reputation for being cheaters. As if we haven't got one already. It will be interesting to know more about the conspiracy theory, but at the very moment, it really should be the last thing on our minds considering we got bigger things to deal with and take care of.

    T
he people researching this must be having fun, however. Kind of like a court case: finding the proper "evidence".

It's been too long since this happened, and whether it really happened in 1969 or not, won't matter today. We've some a long way in space technology since then, and we can send more men and women into the moon now if necessary. Proving or disproving this conspiracy theory will not hurt anything other than the pointless egos involved.
