Kingdom Hearts II Do you think Axel should have sacraficed himself?

I think he did it because he knew that he would die anyway if helped Sora or went against him so he decided to kill himself and he knew Roxas would be mad and come out to fight Sora because Axel wanted Roxas to meet Sora.

 

i say no,he didn't really have to,cause they could have taken those dusk hands down,but axel had to make up for the mistakes that he made,and to see roxas once more before he died.he also did it cause it would have taken awhile to defeat the dusk since they just kept coming after them.he made the choice to redeem him self for the wrongs he committed against them.but knowing how sora is,sora would have forgiven him for what he had done.axel proabaly knew this too,but i think he thought he didn't deserve his friendship and trust.although i am against him killing himself,i do think he did the right thing.

Axel made a sacrifice for his best friend, when he realized that Sora was actually Roxas. And he also looked for the redemption, I mean: "We'll take a lot for beating these guys, if I die you can pass and save your girl."

 

Axel didn't need to die, I guess.

...But I think he wanted to. Both for redemption and because of the fact that he knows he'll never see Roxas again. Combined with the fact that he's a nobody and didn't even exist...? Yeah, Sora and Axel could have beaten the Dusks. It's a bit depressing, but Axel's sacrifice gave him redemption.​

 

See, I think it was necessary, however I would have preferred to fight them myself. Yes they are tiougher that the heartless, however sora should be a lot stronger now too. I think I was about 20 or so levels higher then that I was at the 1000 heartless battle. They could have won. Especially if donald and goofy hadn't run off so sora could change form.

 

Eh, I wish he didn't, but, you know, Sora reminded Axel of Roxas, so of coruse Axel would do something for his Best Friend. It was sweet of him.

 

It may have been necessary for Axel to do it for himself, as a kind of redemption. Or, it could have made it look like he died, and he would be free to do as he wanted. It wasn't necessary to kill all the nobodies that way, but it did get Sora to Kairi faster.

There are some reasons why Axel did what her did. He sacraficed himself to save Sora (Roxas). It proves that he cared for Roxas and that he'll do anything to help a friend.

 

I don't think he had to. Sora might would have fought them all eventually but I think part of the reason he did it so Sora could do it faster, though. I think he sought to redem himself, but I do believe if the fight had dragged on he could have survived with Sora. Maybe there was no way of avoiding it, though.

 

i think it was for redemption and selfishness. but his selfishness was a good thing.

 

here are my reasons

1. what if the nobodies kept coming then sora would be toast
2. to get to kairi/riku faster
3. to maybe redeem himself
4. to show sora that he was not all that bad
5. and finally to apologize to sora for taking kairi

those are what i believe he did

Sora would of given up so Axel felt obligated to sacrifice himself. Though I don't think he realized it until it was too late. Afterwards he didn't care anymore, but at first he was still trying to get Sora to trust him so he could make him into a heartless. Then the redemption thing started when he started fading away in ashes. Should he have sacrificed himself? I am skeptical on that.

 

Axel was not trying to make sora a heartless... remember what he said?

Axel:" I was trying to see Roxas... He was the only one, who made me feel like i had a heart... It's funny... you make me feel.. the same way"

 

I said at first. Which is why he followed Sora in Hallow Bastion. Trust and deceit go a long way. That was at the end. I would like to see the actual japanese dialogue of it Axel fading away.

Axel, Sora, Donald, and Goofy probably could have killed them all pretty fast. When Sora did the thousand Heartless battle, it was just him, and he fought Heartless stronger than Shadows, which are the easiest. But it was only a thousand Dusks, the easiest Nobodies and there were four fairly strong characters. Also, where was King Mickey during all of this? Didn't he enter the portal with every Sora and co. and didn't he reappear after the cutscene ended? I might be wrong, seeing as I haven't played KHII in awhile, but I could have sworn Mickey entered the portal.

 

hard to argue with that, but axel shouldn't have died. he should have just fought it out with sora and donald and goofy.

 

If Axel didn't die won't the party just be stuck in the tunnel-thing forever.
Remember this, it was Axel who opened the exit and if the party wasted time killing the dusks Xemnas's plans would already be complete.

 

His intentions were good not just to redeam himself and yes he did it so Sora could get to Kairi faster in my opinion
