I wonder if anyone here still likes Pokemon and has memories of what was their first Pokemon game, so here I go.
I started liking it at age 3 or 4 from seeing my brother watching the anime. I never got to own my first Pokemon game till 2007 which was Pokemon Blue (I dont care for graphics that is why I didn't get FireRed or LeafGreen).
Now that Im 17 Pokemon is kinda dying off me recently due to the new Generation. It wasn't bad the story was good but the new Pokemon are a bit..... unexpected due to the way they are made (they dont even look like Pokemon anymore). I enjoyed Diamond and Pearl even though many didn't (I dont remember where I read that).
The fate of my Pokemon days will be decided when a 6th generation is out and see if GameFreak can win me back because Digimon is still going strong with it's 6th season (Xross Wars) and season 7. There is also Digimon re:Digitize coming on the PSP in 2012 that will be a interesting game because they went back to their roots (using Digimon World 1) and try to make Digimon great as it once was with that game.
So my question to you KHV people..... do you still like Pokemon and remember your first Pokemon game(the RPG games not the side games)?

Yes, I still enjoy Pokemon. Granted, the fifth generation bored me a bit, but I still enjoy replaying an older entry from time to time.

My first game that I can recall ever having was the original Gold version when I was about three or four. I can't even remember how many times I played through all eight gym leaders before the age of five. I was also hooked on the anime, as most kids were at that time.

My first game was the Red version. My mom bought it for me for doing so well in school. I was probably 5 or 6 when I started. I never got Gold or Silver, so I skipped that generation, but then I got Ruby, then Sapphire, and then Emerald(lost Ruby and Sapphire somehow), and then I went to Diamond, Platinum, and now White.
I really don't get as much out of them as I did then, but I guess it's because it's more fun when you battle other people, instead of doing the same story over and over and over again.

I still very much enjoy Pokémon, and I've been playing since Red and Blue first came out.
Granted, I don't like some of the Pokémon, but who honestly likes all of them? And yes, the 5th Gen games were different in their design aproach, but I actually rather liked the storyline, and most of the Pokémon look perfectly fine. Zekrom is pretty rad, for example, as well as being a unique type combo, which is nice.
As long as they keep bringing out games, I'll keep playing, just because there's always going to be some 'mons that I like, and want to kick the new Elite Four's butts with.

Love it. Played Pokemon Black not too long ago.
Genius show/movies, not to mention the games.

I've always loved Squirtle, Wartortle and ultimately Blastoise. Never played the platinum games, found that gen to be meh.

I like Pokemon but I've got a friend that is somewhat obsessive about it and is kind of ruining it for me.

My first game was Red which I kinda stole from my brother. I would play it more than he did and somewhere down the line it just unofficially became mine. Then I got Gold which I lost and replaced with Crystal. And that's all she wrote. After that it stopped interesting me; although I hadn't given it much of a chance after that, just decided I was done.

Yeah, I still do. I played up until Ruby and Sapphire came out, at which point I laughed and said "Oh geez, those creatures look failtastic". Plus, I was in the midst of high school, and didn't want anyone finding out I still played Yellow.

Then college came around, and people were playing Diamond and Pearl, and even a league was forming. That rekindled the love I thought I'd lost. I got Diamond, then Soul Silver, and finally White. Still play them now (actually I'm still not done with White yet...).

Yes, I miss the good and old times. I think my first was Red version, the one for Nintendo.

I always loved the anime, when I was little I watched it every and every day. And sometime after, I begun to play it. Very fun, even with that bad graphics.

I've always liked Pokemon, but in truth, I liked the show and the cards more than the games. The games were fun and I always got the new ones when they came out, but to this day I have yet to beat a Pokemon game. I always get bored of it somewhere down the line.

Call me old-fashioned, but as someone who loved Pokemon during the first generation, I started losing interest when they added more than 150 Pokemon. So as far as I'm concerned, Pokemon is nothing but an obssession I had until the year 2000 or 2001.

My love for pokemon is actually dying.
I don't like all these new characters that pretty much either named what the are or random keyboard Rap(e)ing.
    I haven't played it in a while,Either.
    So yeah.

What's wrong with having more? It makes it so more people get together and stuff, and it makes it even more diverse in strategy parts of the game. I mean, yeah the designs keep looking more and more like digimon every time, but even still, I like some of the new pokemon. Where would Kyogre be if we didn't continue? Or Latias?

I think just about everyone was hocked into Pokemon at the time xD
Graphics are not everything in a video game ya know?
I have to agree. Squirtle is and will always be my very first starter Pokemon.
That is true, I could remember them all back then at the time (you forgot about Mew so there is 151 silly). I wonder how in the world they are going to make a new Pokemon Rap with 600+ Pokemon x_x
The same thing is happening to me, it is very sad. First Harry Potter now Pokemon will vanish from my life.

I enjoy the new Pokémon, but I definitely see what he means. Some of the new Pokémon are just ******ed. Like the Ice-cream, the Candle and all that crap. Also, the first 151 were the most fun, in my opinion, but that's just because that's what I grew up with. I enjoyed the new ones fully up until, and including 3rd gen.

Pokemon is still one of my favourite RPGs of all time.
I remember my first pokemon games being Pokemon Fire Red and Pokemon Emerald.
Of course I sucked so badly at them because I was quite young :p
But I've purchased all the other handheld games to date past generation 3 and I still love it.
Just I don't find Pokemon B/W as enjoyable whilst replaying as I did the other games.

I've been obsessed with pokemon ever since I was 10. I started off playing Pokemon stadium and when I got my first Game Boy Color when I 12 I played Yellow for my first time. I had all the games, Silver, Gold, Yellow, Red, Blue, all of them within 2 months.

When FireRed and Leaf Green came out I couldn't afford games like I was when I was little. Same with Sapphire and Ruby and Emerald.( My cousin had all the games and liked to rub it in my face -__-)

I've played them all besides the ones for DS, (sad cause I kept up with the updates and statues when Black and White came out) cause I don't own a DS and the pokemon on there look ridiculous.

I'm a first and second gen. fangirl.

I loved playing the games on my GBA and the first season was fun to watch.
Lately I just really dislike the designs and the games are becoming fairly repetitive as well.
I didn't really attempt to "catch em' all" after Diamond/Pearl.

I love the original two generations, and I even think Gen3 was pretty decent, but it started to go downhill after that.
Then someone told me to take off the "nostalgia goggles" and relook at the series.
The new generation isn't that bad. I used to complain about the designs of some of the Pokemon, but then I went back to first generation.
I mean...Ratatta? It's a purple rat. Squirtle? A turtle on two legs. A bunch of the original pokemon looked like straight up animals, which is something the new generation gets crap for.
Then we have things like Jynx and we complain about the new generations' designs.
I haven't fully played any game from any generation after 3 (main series anyway), except for a few hours on someone else's game, but Pokemon isn't going downhill to me after I look at it again. Though I wish that they would change something drastic from now on. I don't know what, but just...something.
