or do you have a broad range?

Me I have a massive broad range that people think is bizzare, because at my school we have people into hip hop, pop, or rock...

    how about you guys?

Narrow mindedness in music really pisses me off actually. Like the people who are like

"OMG POP IS THE BEST EVERYTHING ELSE IS ****"

that being said I also dislike the people who are like "OMG RAP IS SO ****"

Sticking to one specifici genre is kind of lame. There is so much music out there that it seems such a shame that you would miss it all as a result of refusing to step outside of your box.

I have a MASSIVE range of music that I love to listen to (sort of xD). I listen to stuff like classical music all the way to heavy metal. I love my music but I just can't get myself to like rap music, all the 'cool' kids at school listen to it and I keep feeling that if I listen to it I'll feel like I'm a sheep following the herd. Except for Linkin Park I don't listen to any rap.

I'll listen to anything, as long as it sounds good and I enjoy it.

While my collection is focused on heavy metal and progressive rock, I've been known to enjoy techno (such as E Nomine), pop (Some of TM Revolution's work is pretty freaking good), comedy (Wierd Al and Richard Cheese) and even jazz (such as Marcus Miller and Louie Armstrong).

I do need to get more non-metal stuff, but dammit, I am such a metalhead that I can't help it...

I listen mainly to country (Rascal Flatts in particular), but I listen to anything I think sounds good.

I sort of have a broad range of music genres, mainly J-pop, J-rock, video game music and others. One moment i might be listening to high and mighty color and the next minute i'm listening to the nico nico douga medley XD then i'm listening to piano versions of anime openings.

Me, I can't stick to one type of music for very long. I like having a wide range, from classical to rock. I mean, if I stick with the same genere of music, I would get pretty bored after a while.

Obstinacy when it comes to music is pathetic. What does sticking to one genre alone achieve, apart from making you look like an individual who's afraid to broaden their horizons and try new things?

I mean, I listen to alot of stuff. I go from orchestral, to Brutal Death Metal(Thats an actual genre, I didn't add the term brutal for further emphasis), to drum n bass and back again, and there's most likely a bunch of genres that I haven't yet explored. It just gives you a wider array of material to listen to that doesn't cover the same conventions again and again.

Restricting yourself to only one genre of music is like watching only one movie over and over; it gets boring. Variety in music is required: its what separates music from just noise.

As for me, I find myself enjoying rock most of any genre, mainly because it encompasses the most variety, be it subject matter, instruments used, or sound.

To be more specific, I listen to:

Alternative rock, oldschool rock (80's and earlier), hardcore rock, experimental rock, rock/hip-hop, industrial rock, metal, nu-metal, speed metal, symphonic metal, hip-hop, rap (scarcely), pop, techno, electronica, orchestral, a cappella, and occasionally classical.

Not really. When I was little, I was pretty into Rock. But when I entered middle school, I changed to Pop. But, I then started getting bored of some of the music in the area of Pop and so I started to listen to Rock again. Although, I might stick to Rock since most of the songs can, I guess, go with my style.

I like a little of everything, but my favorite is rock. Mostly alternative, punk, or hard rock.
