I quit about a little over a year ago after I started working out again. I've got enough s*** going through me as it is.

No, never, in this day and age with the information our generation has that the previous lacked it's idiotic to even think about smoking.

It takes a lot of rationalizing to smoke in this day and age
And unlike a lot of personal choices, as far as I'm concerned it's perfectly okay to judge someone for doing it because it affects everybody around them no matter what

IF anyone wants to smoke, they're better off just doing electronic cigarettes and getting the nicotine without killing themselves as quickly.

I've not tried and never want to. I've got a pretty hefty family history of asthma and I sorta like this whole "breathing independently" thing without having to worry about getting real messed up real quick. :'v

    It also smells plain awful.

I don't smoke, I did try it once but absolutely hated it. I don't judge people who do as it's their choice but as long as they are considerate of those around them, I find it incredibly sad when I see a pregnant woman smoking (or drinking). Of course I can understand that it's an addiction and at least the "stop smoking" campaign is quite large.

Dude, electronic cigarettes are just as dangerous, if not more so.

Probably among the few who don't in Eastern Europe, there are children younger than I smokin' and drinking.

(Chaste as a nun, twice as sheltered. My own grandmother smokes at social outings before I do, which is kinda hilarious. But I don't see the appeal.)

I do. I just wanted to find out what it was all about. Didn' t plan to make it a habit and for years it wasn' t, but nicotine got me hooked eventually.

I have friends who manage to smoke here and there without ever making it a habit, but since you can' t predict how likely you are to get addicted to drug X or Y I' d say just don' t even try them. Or just once if you' re that curious, but that' s it.

How would you know ? Last time I checked there was no credible study yet, did I miss something ?

I am way too poor to take up any drug related habits.

( I find smoking pretty vile because of the smell and obviously it's stupid from a health perspective... But I also find cigarettes kinda sexy. Not the smoking but like... The act?? Does that make sense?? )

    @Misty aw yeah i love watching people char up their lungs and yellow their teeth c;

kidding aside, it's understandable. smoking has always looked cool to people, but for what it does to your health, it's not worth it imo.

Never have, never will for me. It comes from the fact that my body is already messed up as is, so it'd be kind of stupid to make a decision that will only make me feel worse in the long run. Yes, it's someone's choice to smoke, and I'm fine with that. I have friends who smoke, and they are courteous enough to not do that around me. But if some random guy just sits next to me and is either smoking (like at the bus stop) or just smells of the stuff, I'm going to move. It sounds harsh to say, but I find it better to appear rude and save my lungs instead of sitting there, trying to be polite, and cause what could eventually become long term damage.

Find that weird. It's like those jackets or scarves that make some people look really cool. Or a breeze that makes hair wavy. What is cool about it? I mean I get it, but it's kinda strange to consider.
Huh, I think I've just realised I no longer recognise cool and just sexual attraction. I wonder if cool and its equivalents are early forms of attraction. Would make sense as a sense of social conformity.

Anyway, no, don't smoke, don't care to. I'm far too lazy to pick up an addiction to anything.
