im curious because im looking around my room at my very limited shelf space thinking there's a lot here that i impulse bought, played like a couple hours of then put back on the shelf (mmz collection, super md, pq), and i'll probably never play again. that or games that i've played ad nauseam and haven't played in years and prob never will again and have no emotional connection to and are all but forgotten to me (dissidia). so im thinking why am i keeping these? i dont want to get too introspective and philosophical or whatever with something this simple, but i think its good to not be needlessly attached to material things that dont hold some kind of personal value, though i realize the hypocrisy in not wanting to be too materialistic in favor of selling things for money. so im wondering. do you sell off games? what are your criteria for deciding when/what to sell? not necessarily a case of not being able to make up my mind, but games are expensive yo and im a broke college student who needs to be smart with money which entails minimizing regret. so im prob gonna liquidate my already small collection to make room for stuff. and i kinda want a ps4. and money from my job in the summer needs to go to things like education and personal needs, right.
I used to when I was hurting for money, but not anymore. Even if don't ever plan on playing them again, I think of it as having a source of creativity around me for inspiration
I did for games that I new I would never play, but if I enjoyed it even a little, I would keep them. The ones I did when I was still selling them for money, I regret
Depends on the game. If I don't like it, I'll probably sell it. If it's a game I love, or just want just because, I'll usually keep it, especially if there's something special about it. Like legit I have all three versions of Chain of Memories and I will be keeping them until I'm dead.
Not anymore. The games I buy now, I generally want to keep and play again sometime, even if it's a long time latter.
I do. Either because they were impulsive buys I don t give a flying **** about anymore or because I need the money. I actually sold my whole collection twice so far (money was really, really tight). Made me realize just how few of them are actually worth keeping around. There' s a couple games I' d rather have kept though, had I been able to foresee their future worth: yesterday I spotted Zelda Four Swords at my regular store, it was sold for 120 whopping bucks. I sold mine for ten euros tops. They also had a bunch of 90 euros NES games.
I read earlier today that someone sold their Pokemon Soul Silver and Poke Walker for $5 when they were younger. My soul hurt.
