    Wow. How blunt.

Apparently, (I watched this from CSI LOLOLOLOOL)

    You have like 4 stages.

Beta Stage, which is the most conscious state, is what we're in right now
Alpha Stage, which is the meditative state.
Theta Stage, which is the dream state.
Delta Stage, a nearly coma state.

Apparently the person who's being hyptonised must have the thing they're about to be doing in their nature already. Otherwise it wouldn't work.

It seems to me like a 50/50.

It might work, it might not.

Well, as an amateur hypnotist myself, I can honestly say that it does work. I even have a PDF of inductions, deepeners, and all kinds of things.

I'd like to know what your opinion is.

@tS Guardians: Actually, you can make someone do anything that they do not morally believe to be wrong. I once made someone forget the number 2 for a whole 15 minutes.

That derren brown thing was weird - the only one affected was my brother. My whole house tried to get him off the damn sofa but he wouldn't move xD

I think it works; it just depends if you want it to or if you don't.

yes it's used all the time though they tryed it on my mum once and it took 3 hours and the hypnotist said that she was unable to be hypnotised that was cool

  5. I believe in hypnotism, because I've witnessed it myself in my high school graduation party: funded by the school. One of the hired entertainers was a hypnotist. I wasn't skeptical at all, really, since I have a penchant to believing this type of surrealism. The first thing the hypnotists said to us was that we have to want to be hypnotized, no doubts, no refusal, and follow what he was saying. Or else, he won't be able to do anything. He put it as "I do not hypnotize you. You hypnotize yourself". In other words, yes, it does depend on the mindset you have at the moment. If you refuse subconsciously, obviously, you're holding back from being manipulated (especially that, even if you're hypnotized, you probably wouldn't do something that you wouldn't normally do i.e. killing someone). A lot of my peers volunteered (I wanted to do it, but I never got to), and needless to say, it was amazing. And freaking hilarious as hell. Never laughed that much in my life. And the real show was that they did do it. Like they were in a trance, and they just performed what was told. In the very beginning, most of them, when the hypnotists was telling them to let go and sleep, some really did fall asleep. In fact, some woke up faster than others when they were done with a demonstration.

    Neat stuff.
