I personally believe guns shouldn't be legal in the first place, expect to the tight arms forces and police. Guns can't make peaceful transactions just descrution. The UK is seeing a rise in gun crime (though there is a ban of gun we need to be stricter) and it's making the streets unsafe especially in London. Look at Japan they are very tight on gun laws and crime in Japan is relatively low.

I can see the right to people having a gun but whether I see a gun I get uneasy. You say it won't make a difference by restricting it, but every little helps. Even if it gun crime only lowers a little bit it's done it's job and help save a few lifes.

Take away guns and there will be more stabbings. Take away knives and there will be more bashings. Take away clubs/hammers/random metal poles and there will be more beatings. Take away peoples' hands and noone can live.

ARGH, its not the laws that are the problem. the insane people will still be able to get their hands on weapons even if they are illegal. when something is made illegal a black market springs up in its place (although its probly already there in america) so anyone who really wants a gun eg criminals will still be able to get them. my point is that theres something wrong with the american publics mindset that seems to be causing this problem, possibly children growing up with guns all around them? thats what needs to be addressed, although taking the guns out of normal peoples hands (ie making them illegal) would certainly help

Insane people, in my opinion, are born of society. A government's people are only as strong as they have been taught to be, only as sane as they have been taught to be. If a person is taught at a young age that killing is right, they will believe that killing is right. While there is a conscience in everyone, some people are taught to suppress it or, more often, are forced to. Often times it is not entirely the criminal's fault they are how they are, it is the people around them's fault. Bottom line; America is full of jerks, and that is why many people die. If everyone were a bit kinder to their cousins perhaps less people would be murdered.

EDIT: Keep in mind I am not blaming the government. I am blaming the people within the country as a whole.
