In the U.S. the gun laws are far too lax. Anyone can get their hands on a gun or two. I'm surprised by the way people act when people get shot on the news. People get shot every day and they die, it seems silly to act as if something has changed when it gets put on the news like the VA Tech shootings.

    Input? Death threats?

There is no way gun control laws are good these days. I bet ya, some 5th grade kid could get a gun off a gang of 18 year olds. And in the shops..horrible.

No cause it seems like now a days any one can just get a gun. Its horrible that things have come to this in society.

Here in the UK it's illegal to have a gun so we don't have as much trouble with them. But people can still get them & we've had a few major shootings, but nothing compared to the States. One of the reasons why i'm glad i live in the UK.

It's bad. In Australia, people can get guns. My dad has a rifle. He let me hold it. And, people at my school let brag about have already fired guns. It's horrible.

If everyone had guns there'd be less shootings. People would think twice about trying to shoot up a school full of people with just as many guns as you.

Or if people didn't have any guns there would be no shootings. But that would never happen.

No, that one 6th grader, I think, got one at the gun shop. Even had a background check.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.- The Second Amendment

The sum that up for people who may not understand what that means, we have the right to bear arms, it's up to the weilder to use it wisely though. No one can change this or take it away, and I'm proud we have this.

Likewise. If we start taking away the key freedoms, we wouldn't be the United States of America anymore... We'd be the Communist States of America.

Don't start with key freedoms s**t. I think it's much more important to be able to speak freely than kill freely. See illegal wire-taps and other wartime instances of rights being abridged. But no heaven forbid anyone not being able to shoot the hell out of another, 'cause after all guns are such a key freedom. Has anyone ever once tried to jump on people with guns, no they'll attack you for race, religion, and the use of free speech but never will they worry about the actual threats.

    Glad you agree...

Your ignorant in this case... It shouldn't be the guns and the right to own them that should be outlawed, it is up to the people to learn to use them right. Also, if they took away the second amedment, what's next? The first? Hell, if even one of our amedments were taken away just becuase they could do it, they could get rid of any of them, and losing just one of them makes us no better than places like Afghanistan...

well...i personally wouldn't mind guns being gone, if everyone were nice, we wouldn't even need them. and i would trade some freedom in exchange for the ridding of guns, it's worth the price is u ask me. and the governor in my state proposed a law to limit gun sales to only once a month per person, however, the stupid NRA protested and the law was never passed :( stupid NRA!!!! they are such a*swipes

I live in Canada and when i hear about Gun Violence in the States, only one thing comes to mind: Why don't people Limit them?
I agree with Evilman89: Stupid NRA!
Also they might want to REALLY crack down on gang violence everywhere.
We tell children not to fight, it doesn't get us anywhere, but are we doing that ourselves? no.
why must we kill to get what we want? God values each human life, with war we gain, but what do others lose?
(Call me a hippie if you want, I just think we shouldn't have war)
9/11 caused this whole Afghanistan Mess, instead of dealing with it in other ways US and Canada take more lives, now young kids are in the battlefield? this is madness (Madness?... THIS IS SPARTA! had to say it) Taking lives is wrong, Taking more lives to even it out is even worse.
    What do we gain?
(mock me if you want, it's only my opinion, you don't have to think the same)

exactly. 85% of the time, guns kill somebody that didn't even do anything wrong. i think we need SOME guns (like for cops for example) but someone who buys about 100 at once is obviously up to no good.

You guys need to understand people and politics more. If we limit guns, there wll still be shootings, just like how we limit drugs and when we did more came around. How about when we banned alcohol? Organized crime started, more people were killed, nascar was invented, and even more people drank. You can't stop things, ever. You need to just raise and trust good people. That's what our freedoms try to do.

As sad as it may seems we live in a country, no, a world where we feel safer with weapons at our side. Guns may provide a sense of fear, but they also have a sense of security. Consider a father who's handgun is the only thing defending his family from intruders, or even consider the average guy who just enjoys a good Turkey Hunt. Guns ARE a part of our lives, and just because some crackpot went psycho at a university doesn't mean that should be taken away. Should the limits of firearms be increased? Perhaps. Would it be right to take away one of our principle freedoms that this nation was founded upon? Hell no.

well....it's better than nothing i suppose. and the raising good ppl isn't happening, at least not in America. in other countries, their gun murders are in SINGLE digits. it's obviously a cultural problem in America

well....if NO ONE had guns, we wouldn't need them. and there are other ways to defend urself. ever heard of karate?

You think there are so many shootings and so many people who want to kill, it's rare. Just because a shooting happened recently is why your freaking out about it...

Psh, I'd like to see Karate stand against a few guys robbing your house, beating your family, raping your wife and using knives and steel bats...
