    I know that if I tried this then I would immediately fall asleep, books do that to me but it nevers crosses my mind and usually to start reading the book I would have to leave the bed. That wakes me up- this thought unnerves me so I never do it xD I may try that next time though.

    I've done this many times before. xD They were all usually with Darren Shan's Demonata Series, as well as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. While both aren't scary by themselves, sleepyness and night time kinda keep you awake much longer than you want. ;;

    I always stay up reading,if i dont read or listen to music,i find it impossible to sleep. Any book is fine for me to read,like i dont get scared from horror books or anything,but old books that ive read a 100 times always help me sleep better and give me good dreams :D

    If I can't sleep and have a book or manga that I haven't read yet, then yes, I do read in attempt to fall asleep. But sometimes it takes several hours and I end up getting only like... Three to five hours of sleep D:

    The only time I recall reading while attempting to go to sleep was when I read 'A boy called it' I read it all in one... laying? Because I couldn't fall asleep. then when I had finished I could sleep, I guess I just wanted to see how it all ended that badly.q

    I do this like every night but I think I have insomnia or something cause I stay up reallllly late reading. There were only a handful of times when it worked though.

    I've never read before going to bed in order to lull myself to sleep. Quite the opposite, I'd stay up later in order to read. I know, I'm weird.

    I've tried to read something to put me to sleep a few times, but never seemed to work. But than again I don't have much reading material and thus I never really try to do this much. But sleep isn't really a problem for me any more :P

    Sometimes I'll read reeely boring school assigned books in order to fall asleep. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, depends on what I'm reading.

    I have to say, I've done this. When a book is REALLY good I will stay up until very late in the morning just reading it, that's what happened with The Hunger games series, I must've finished the last 2 books within 2 days each. I wouldn't do it when I'm really tired though, I would just fall asleep right away, I wouldn't be able to concentrate, the book has to be amazing so I can get stuck into it and not fall asleep.

    The duller the better for me. It's like yawn therapy XD

    I sometimes read long fanfiction (with acceptable grammar) on my laptop in bed too but sometimes I just melt at some dull television I've recorded.

    If I'm reading a book and I really enjoy it, I prefer to read when lying in my bed anyway. However, there comes a point i.e. when you're still reading at 4.30 am and you have school that day that you need to STOP (in all caps apparently). I've been in that situation ... a few times more than I'd like.

    A lot of times, this doesn't work for me. If I try to read a boring book, I just get frustrated that it's so boring and then set it down cause I get mad that it's not going anymore and I'm still wide awake. If I pick up a really, really good book, that's a danger. Even though my eyes are bloodshot and my brain is telling me to go to sleep, I have to stay up and read through the whole thing until I'm done. By that time, it's like 3AM or 4AM. But hey, at least I'll fall asleep that night. So I guess it kinda works, but not the way I want it to. ^^;
