Yes, I know this question is very random, but I've noticed something: that during Winter, sometimes Spring, and Fall mousquitos aren't around, but during the Summer there all over the place. So I sorta think they migrate. Any thoughts?

Mosquitoes are cold-blooded creatures and do not generally bite in temperatures below 50F. In Connecticut, some adult mosquitoes become inactive with the onset of cold weather and enter into hibernation before the first frost. Other mosquitoes die in the fall but have winter-hardy eggs, which hibernate as embryos.

They don't migrate. They don't live long enough to really go a long distance. But, I can answer your question.

Durig the winter, all mosquitos in mild areas are killed off, cold areas don't even have them. In warm areas, the mosquitos are around 24/7. They live for like 2 days then die. At some point during those two days, they lay eggs. The eggs will hatch very quickly, then spread as new mosquitos. This giant spreading will take palce accross the nation, filling in the newly-heated areas. Whic I guess you could say is a migration is a sense, but one that takes place over many generations of mosquito, so I don't tihnk it quite counts.

Actually, mosquito's have very short life spans.

They die out for a while in one area, while another part of the world that is rich with water and is warm grows and abundance of mosquito's. Then once the colder area becomes warm again they come back.

Mosquitos don't really migrate being they don't live that long to move very far.

But they do cause the Elk Migration every year.

I do know that Britain has been getting more mosquitos over recent years, last summer I got bit so bad it was scary :( I don't think they migrate though, I think it's just like what the others said its to do with temperatures.
