I wonder, what do people think of the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs?

It is not exactly recent but, I found it... horrifyingly interesting. A brief run-through, two Ukrainian boys were arrested and charged with 21 murders. They generally hadn't any tactic as far as I know, killing on a whim at random. Weapon of choice is anything they are holding, blunt objects; they murdered their victims none too gracefully. They've much history with past animal abuse. Their case is infamous in that they recorded some of their murders on cam, one of the videos leaking out onto the internet... and it is, still up. If you so wished to, you could google the video this very moment and watch it. I have not watched it and I haven't any intentions to, would make me sick. In it they murder a man with a toolbox, if I'm not mistaken, it has been some time since I've read up on it. A screwdriver through the eye. Sickening. Not PG-13, of course.

Hmm. I suppose I wonder, how many know of this case? Have any of you heard of it? I wonder just how notorious it is.

I have never heard of it, heard nothing in Norway.

Though I read a bit about it (just now). Some sick stuff... Incredible what people can do.

Yes, incredibly sick. I would like to study abroad, and Russia is on my list of possible places-- but I am shying away from that option, as I scare myself with my imagination. Thoughts of taking a midnight's walk out and being bludgeoned to death with a pipe, then my mutilated body is found days later, decomposed. American/Russian transfer student dies a brutal death, the papers would say. Bludgeoned to death.

However unlikely that may be, the homicide rates in Russia being so high are not quite convincing, not quite encouraging...

This was Ukraine though. But I'd like to add, there is an equal amount of horrible things happening in the US. You are just not informed about it in the same way. You're trained to fear anything Non-American. However, even if it's slightly off topic, I'd recommend going to Norway. Beautiful country with great people (when you get to know them).

Oh wow I remember this. It's so old.

Back in my early years of searching the internet I came across some site talking about this. I searched the video, randomly slid the timer to a random....time, and saw what was up.

His face was pretty disfigured and they kept smashing it. I think the poor guy couldn't catch any air. The dude they slaughtered was struggling in life trying to take care of one of his family members, and what happens? He gets slaughtered by some sick *******s.

    Truely sick stuff.

That is true. Though even not considering Russia's high homicide ratings, there is also the pollution to factor in, other crime, and such. The pollution I might worry about more, as that is not exactly avoidable; though truth be told, I would probably pursue Russia despite that, my health be damned, the cultural aspects too juicy to miss out on. Scandinavia I have considered... don't know much of each Nordic country individually. Czech Republic as well, I am considering.

Goodness we are getting horribly off topic.

I had actually heard of it,as I remember my mum ranting about it one day...or one week.
I think because she knew someone from around there,or something like that.
My memory is rather bad though,so meh.

It is rather disgusting I must say, just what some people have done.
And what people are still doing.
    Oh humanity.
