I was going to get it, but then remembered that I'll be buying new turntables in a month and found the entire DJ Hero soundtrack online.

Game looks sweet though, have fun with it bro.

Ugh, yet another type of game people are going to obsess over and post thousands of videos on Youtube on how fast they can scratch or whatever. Eh, I'll probably give it a try anyway.

Not like real scratching, but of course, I didn't really expect it to be. It was a very fun game though. I especially liked the Daft Punk music in there, and I want to get the renegade edition.

No. This is one game I'd love to rid of it's existence. It's just a new money grabbing scheme except instead of basing it on music that takes effort they based it on something 9 year olds can do after a night (resources being when I was a kid I knew someone who learned DJing over night at the age of 9 and did every bloody gig/disco/etc in the village for years before he learned the drums). But I have heard this game can be quite entertaining, so I guess it's just the theory of it that's off-putting to me.

The funny thing is, this game is actually extremely fun.

Also @ K'nuckles, you can complain about the videos when you can do better than the people that make them. Like GHP and Shade.

well if you don't have guiter hero or band hero then it is a good reason to get it and it is better then guiter hero anyway (but that is MY OPINION)

i also love the fact that Daft punk is in there too

    Yeah, this pretty much.
In all honesty, it seems to me that they're just milking the franchise now.

@ dragonkid - Why would you get this if you didn't have Guitar Hero? If you never played GH, how would you be able to compare it to DJ Hero?

    *Guitar

I meant if someone has never played Guitar Hero.

Again, I probably wouldn't spend money on this. It's like what's happened with Sonic and Spyro, developers didn't really know where to quit.

for sonic the games are getting dumb and they still make spyro games?! but Guitar hero games are the same thing but with new song so after you get one or two you have no reason to get a other one but dj and guitar are not the same thing i mean if it was the same thing and every thing but in a diffenrt form then it dumb

Try English. I hear you need to be able to speak it to post here.

I'm gonna try figure out what you said and answer it. I'm guessing your saying you either have GH, RB or DJH? But still, that makes no sense to the point that the developers are just trying to milk the <instrument> hero thing. I always keep saying they'll eventually make Orchestra Hero unless they kill the series in the next few years. It'll probably end up being like the Lego series at this rate.

I tried the full game at Best Buy. Actually surprised by it's lack of suck. Still, not something I would spend money on, but I guess for fans of that kinda music, it's pretty nifty, but not really something that warrants its current price (with the turn-table). It does get challenging, having to switch the...line thingy while pressing the buttons and such.

    Yay for Jay-Z though ;D

Meh. I don't think I'm gonna try it. I've never been a great fan of Guitar Hero anyways and I feel like DJ Hero will be like just your average spin-off.

Insomniac the original developers of Spyro actually sold their rights to Vivendi.
So guess who owns the rights to Spyro now?
Yes Activison the same people that are milking The "Hero" series.

I did not understand your logic there....

Anyways, DJ Hero looks like it has possibilities of Epic Phail. The scratching system looks pretty interesting, but what's with the 3 buttons(Red, Blue and Green I believe). If I were to create that game I would replace that with something to the effect of a "Sound Table".
I'll give it a try...but I know it won't be anything like real DJing.(I have experience with DJing btw. :P)

Left button is the left turntable. It controls everything you'd do with a turntable that's on the left.

Middle button is your effects button.

Right button is the right turntable and does what the left one would do but on the right.

It's the only way they could have done this since bundling two turntables plus the mixer would cost way too much. Although I'm sure Activision would love to do that just to charge us that much.

Unless you're left handed. The game is nearly painful to play if you're left handed.
