Kingdom Hearts II DiZ, Kairi's Grandfather?(spoilers ahead)

Kairi, in kh1, is revealed to be the princess of Radiant Garden(hollow bastion).
DiZ, or Ansem the Wise, is the ruler/king of Radiant Garden, yet he shows no inclination that he is Kairi's Dad, and Kairi said she never remembered ANYTHING from her home world. Her grandmother is also briefly mentioned in the library.Kairi could just be orphaned and be with her Grandmother. Still my theory is that if Kairi is the Princess, and Ansem the wise is king, Ansem the Wise or DiZ is Kairi's grandfather and Kairi just was too young to remember him, or it could have been that she saw him for like two seconds before he blew himself up. Your opinions?

 

It's difficult to say whether Kairi originally was born in Radiant Gardens or not and is actually from there. Yes, she is there with her grandmother and was also obviously staying at the castle since her memory showed that she was listening to a story from her grandmother in the library there.

I'm not sure if Ansem the Wise was ever declared a 'king' or if he was a regent of some sort. It is clear he ruled there but it didn't seem that he was a king necessarily. I have pondered if maybe he was the regent and something happened to Kairi's actual parents so he was leading until perhaps she would grow into the duty, or if she actually was brought to the castle to stay and sought refuge along with her grandmother.

I would have thought Ansem the Wise would have said something to Kairi or at least mentioned her in his own notes in more detail if she was actually blood related to her. He did care about her but well, there's just nothing in the true Ansem Reports that shows relation and Xehanort also doesn't tie her at all to Ansem. He just says he thinks she's a Princess of Heart and sends her out to find the Keyblade wielder. This is why I don't tend to think that Ansem and Kairi are solidly related as in parent or grandparent and child. I doubt he's actually Kairi's grandfather too because he seems quite a bit younger than her grandmother was.

 

you make a solid point, butt if Kairi was not a princess of that world, where could she be from?

 

The last paragrah of Repliku L, explained it well. They are not related, or else the relation would've been mentioned, if not, be a important focal plot point considering most of the connections. It's just not possible.

A part of me did wish it was so, however. I would find it quite the thrill to see that Ansem The Wise would be Kairi's grandfather, or even, father. Anything blood related. It would have put Kairi more into the game, give her a very exact, et mysterious, past, that has somewhat to do with the main storyline, and maybe learn more about her own family, and who she was living with, etc. Great development, in my opinion, and that is something her character terribly needs.

I just find the thought of Kairi being of Ansem's blood quite nice. A sweet reunion, and for her to get closure. I mean, she barely does remember her past, after all.

 

but if she even Knew Ansem at all, she may have been able to talk with him, but remember that she doesn't remember most anything and she had never heard of him from anyone other than Riku that ONE time and he called him DiZ then Ansem the Wise, and kairi caught a glimpse of him before the machine blew up.

I don't think that they're related. Just because Kairi is a princess of heart doesn't mean that she was going to be princess of Radient Garden. Also, there was no indication or hint from Diz that there was any relation. If they really were related, I think he would have hinted at it somehow.

 

If you read the secret ansem reports, he refers to Kairi as a "young girl", not "my granduaghter."

I agree with this. She's not necessarily the Princess of Radient Garden, just because she's a Princess of Heart.
And if they were related, I really think he would have said something.

Maybe somethings are meant to be kept secrets.

But they might be somehow related.

Like, Her grandfather is the friend of Ansem.

To tell you the truth, I think they're not related. Kairi is known as the princess of heart, not the princess of Radiant Garden.
I really don't think they're related, even the way they act as well to be honest XDD.

 

WOW. I didn't know she was the princess of THAT place. Lucky person...but I don't think she would be the princess of that place, becuase in the end of Soras adventure she'd have to go there...unless she wanted to stay at Destiny Islands.

 

Maybe they will eventually explain what this is all about.Where Sora,Kairi and Riku came from in Birth By Sleep.

Whatever your ruling; you don't have to be related to the king or queen or prince or whatever.

She was the princess of radiant garden; and so?
And don't you think he would've told her before the machine exploded in Kh2?
Someone would've told her eventually..

 

Well, there's no proof that Kairi is the princess of RG. We only know that she is a PoH.

 

Just got to leave it till it's announced. Birth by sleep will most likely be when.

 

That sound a lot more likely then Ansem being her granddad
