Everette didn't seem to like the idea of splitting up which was fair enough. He didn't really agree with the sentiment of the people betraying them, there didn't seem to be much motif for it especially if all the water supplies were tainted, they were all in the same boat in this town. Furthermore if they had someone on the inside they didn't need to kill the guards. That they were waiting outside of town could still be a possibility if they knew they were here this would draw them out, but he wasn't entirely wrong. As Everette created the clones he felt a little bit safer not much as it only really protected Everette from getting targeted.

As they travelled down the road it wasn't very eventful, the light of the moon sometimes left them as clouds passed over it, but it would always return the sound of owls hooting and nocturnal animals rustling through the underbrush accompanied them and while Conrad was a little on edge being out here at night it had more to do with the fact they could be attacked out of the dark and having had some rather bad experiences previously on missions and that was without ambushes. They were getting closer to the river and there was a foul smell carried to his nose on the wind, the same foul smell the poisoned water had. If it were this strong here near the river how much poison were they using? His question was answered as he heard the hissing and saw the giant serpent loom over the trees, a big shadow against the moonlight, it's eyes glowing.

Samuel grabbed him by the shoulder and asked him whether anyone hadn't seen this before he hadn't heard anyone about a giant serpent. And they had checked the river out according to the Chief, that meant the Serpent had been hidden perhaps? The conflict in his head played up again wishing Lakoda were here with him to slay the serpent, as the two of them had gained a knack for casting down monsters. They would make short work of it if it were the two of them present but no matter they'd still take it out. "
I don't know, perhaps it hid in the river itself or somewhere else in these forests?" Conrad said keeping his voice down. "Either way we can't let this thing live. I'd suggest we try and blind it, eyes first tongue next, after that it should be easier to deliver the killing blow... unless you want to try and use a diversion while we kill it, but I'd say it's safer to just blind it." Conrad said, he had a good idea as to where to deliver it if he could get through the scales but either way they would do well to blind it first.

As Thea dodged through the fire, webs came bursting through her wall of flames. Since she didn't have the control to keep the fire hot at all time, it was more for a distraction and the flames let the web through without much of an issue, causing Thea to become caught among the webs. For a moment she was stuck and a little freaked out, but as she struggled against the binding effect of them, her body became a pillar of flames, burning away the webbing that was around her as the flames took over, flickers of blue flashed in both her wall and the red flames around her body. Soon after however the red flames settled and Thea took a moment to calm her breath and try and control herself a bit more before she shot out a few more flames from her wall, trying and hit the spider with more fire, perhaps even igniting it if she could.

As they walked down the river, Samuel stopped and Everette looked to where the boy was pointing, his eyes going wide. "That is not natural. I agree we need to take it down, and then perhaps see if it has any connection to the poisoning. But for now it is a danger to the town." Everette pulled out his sword and prepared for a battle as his clones mimicked his actions. Slowly the clones spread out from him, starting to form a semi-circle around the snake like creature. As he did he glanced over his shoulder at Conrad. "Unless you have a way to create light, I won't be able to help blind it. The moon doesn't provide that much light." Everette warned. Perhaps if it was sunny he could use his mirror to concentrate a beam of sun at the snake's face, but that was not the case right now and he would have to find another way. "I will do my best to distract it though, we will see what we can do." Everette prepared himself for an attack. If there was agreement among everyone he would go in to attack it, using some fighting styles he learned from other members of the guild. While it would do damage, the main purpose would be for his duplicates to copy his movements and trick the snake in focusing on the assaults taking him from 4 sides instead of looking at what Samuel and Conrad were doing.

Shawn looked up seeing the bird thing was back. He still had the fake box with rocks so they could still use that as a distraction. "Should I throw the box or send boulders behind us, or use sandstorm?" He asked both of them.

Yukyo pulled the reins immediately as he saw the wall come up. The horses immediately stopped in their tracks. The young man immediately looked up and saw the same bird fly back toward. "Well that didn't take ol' Bird Brain that long." Yukyo immediately tried to calm down the horses before looking back to Lakoda. "Lakoda take the reins!! See if you can find an alternate path!" Yukyo handed over the reins to Lakoda as he made his way to the back of the wagon. Shawn had immediately asked the other two. "Should I throw the box or send boulders behind us, or use sandstorm?" Yukyo chimed in with an immediate response. "A definitive no to the boulder and sandstorm!! Not while we have the cakes and our own safety to worry about!!" He looked over at the bird before looking back at Shawn as he took the box. Yukyo jumped up from the wagon and immediately threw the box. "Does Polly want a cracker?! Here! Just for you!!!" Yukyo threw the box at the bird before making his way back to the wagon. He jumped back into the wagon as he went up to Lakoda. "We need to move!!"

Lakoda took the reins as told and listened in on the conversation. Why was Shawn asking what to do instead of doing it? Then again, Lakoda never been on a mission with him and figured he was learning on the fly. Still, it was better to act than wait to be told what to do in this line of work. When Yukyo threw the box at the bird, Lakoda wanted to slap her forehead. "Use your sandstorm! Boulders! Anything! They're pissed, and they're not going to fall for any more antics!"

Just as predicted, the bird caught the box in his talons, opened it up, squawked in dismay, and then threw it back at the group at full speed. Lakoda turned her head and snapped her fingers at the box coming towards them, sending a powerful sound wave at it and bits of cardboard and rocks went all over the place. It was then before Lakoda could snap the reins and figure out an alternative route that the wind around them suddenly picked up, the wagon and the group were caught up in a powerful vortex of wind that was gradually sucking the oxygen from the group. A blurred figure could be seen running through the currants and Lakoda snapped her fingers again, breaking the current and sending the one with the speed magic flying back. She then snapped the reins and started to go around, getting off the road and rolling on the bumpy grass to try to get away from the shadows.

"CAW! Heavy egg rain!" The bird suddenly unleashed an rain of eggs, sailing towards them at high speed. Lakoda was busy driving the wagon, so she couldn't focus on maneuvering the wagon off road and attacking. It would have to be up to someone to somehow make the oncoming eggs break open and be redirected away from the wagons so no man or animal would be harmed in the line of fire.

A Price Unpaid- Gavin, Zephyr, Thea

The spider was hit back by the powerful Wyvern’s Flare attacks by Zephyr, unable to dodge easily due to its colossal size. Its large legs were tangled within itself and then it fell on its back, screeching like a banshee and poison dripped from its fangs. While it was down, it was spouting poison out towards the group, but it only made a trail towards it. Thea's flames caught the trail on fire, and it suddenly ignited, spreading to the downed spider and caught it in a bonfire of flames. The spider squealed and writhed as the fire consumed it.

Izra saw that they had an advantage now and brought her flute up to her lips, playing a few shrill notes. The shadows snaked along the ground in the flickering light. A spike suddenly went up from the ground, impaling the spider in the head. The noise stopped all together, and the spider crumbled in ash. Izra lowered her flute and looked at the group. "Nice work. Is everyone alright before we move forward?"

Village in Peril- Conrad, Everette, Samuel

"Wait, Everette, I can blind the snake." Samuel adjusted his glasses on his nose as he looked at the snake and then back at the full moon that was out now. "True, I used most of my magic earlier to save Renza, but the sun reflects off of the moon. I'm getting some energy back as we speak. I can blind the snake, you two can go in for the kill. I don't know how safe it would be to cut off its tongue... Those teeth- those fangs are huge. We just need to try to cut off its head as fast as possible, or deliver some kind of blow through its head to end it." Samuel didn't like the smell in the air. It smelled kind of like death and decay, perhaps something acidic as well... "Whatever we do, we're going to be fighting along the water. If it's this thing that's causing the poison, do whatever you can to not inhale the water or swallow it. As much as I would like to, I don't have enough energy to save everyone. And I don't have an antidote to administer yet..."

Conrad quickly wrote out a selection of runes on his lower arm and was encased in heavy black armour, despite the look of how heavy it seemed it made him faster, which against this serpent would be rather welcome. After that he quietly drew his sword. "
Alright then, if you blind it with the moonlight, Everette and I will go for the eyes if possible, then I'll try and get on it's back this armour will make sure I am not in direct contact with anything." Conrad started and thought Samuel made a very good point, even with the speed from his armour he would be hard pressed to actually cut off the tongue and if it lashed to get out of the way of those fangs, his armour was strong and could take quite a beating but it wouldn't hold very long of those fangs came down.

    "
You're right, no need to increase risk, go straight for the death blow. If you blind it and Everette goes for the eyes, I'll see if I can get on it's back, try and sever the spinal cord." Conrad said through the rather imposing looking helmet. "I'm protected by the armour I can try and climb onto it or jump from one of the trees while you keep it distracted." Conrad continued, the smell was getting worse. With a snake that size piercing its skin would prove difficult to do with a sword and he didn't care any other weapons on him at the moment not even an improvised one like an axe, but he could fill in with magic. "That really doesn't smell good, if that's coming from the snake, I'd imagine it wouldn't be good to touch it directly... even with my armour I'm not sure but it's out best bet." Conrad said following along remaining wary, a serpent that big around and people actively poisoning the water supply he wouldn't be surprised if there were others and kept his eyes peeled.

There a brief feeling of accomplishment when Zephyr's attack had struck the spider head on. The mage remained ready though in the event the spider was able to counter attack. The flames from his magic had returned to his arm, coating his forearm in flames. From the corner of his eye he spotted the trail of flames that had spawned from Thea and igniting the beast in even more fiyah flames. It ends was dealt by a swift magic spike through it head by Izra.

All this considered that was well. To which he gave Izra a thumbs up to her question, "I'm ready." All that was left for them now was the actual demon behind all of this and it would be brought down by their hands.

After letting Zephyr out by cutting a path open he faced the spider ready to go in for another attack. It did seem like immobilizing this spider might be difficult. Fire and flames seemed to be everywhere. Lose web fell and were completely gone with the flames. Soon the spider was hit back by the powerful Wyverns Flare attacks. For a spider that big he was not surprise in how slow it moved. He thought on this and it was probably a good thing it moved so slow. It was faster they might have had a harder time fighting it. Suddenly the spider ignited. The spider was caught it in a bonfire of flames. The spider squealed and writhed as the fire consumed it. He just stood there and thought well that works. A spike suddenly went up from the ground, impaling the spider in the head. Now that the spider was dead they could move on. Izra then said, 'Nice work. Is everyone alright before we move forward?' He seemed alright and by the looks of things everyone else was too. He smiled at Izra. "I am ready." There was not much else to say so he looked forward.

Thea watched as her flames caused the spider to shriek in pain. She shuttered and back off from the sound as Izra added to it with her flute. It in the end helped kill the spider, but as her flame wall faded Thea was crouched on the ground covering her ears trying to drown out the noise. A few blue flames rippled off of her, but over all she managed to keep things in check as she sat there breathing heavy for a moment. Everyone else seemed ready to keep moving however, so Thea eventually stood up straight and straightened herself out, holding her head high like nothing was wrong at all. Nodding her head she looked over at everyone else, her eyes still bright and happy despite everything. "Alright I am ready to go!" She agreed, dousing the last bit of blue flames dancing between her figures, fully regaining control of herself.

Distract it. He supposed he could do that. Everette did not possess magic that was beneficial to offensive combat, he was an illusionist at best, and even that was barely. At the very least he had picked up a few fighting styles using his magic to mirror what he saw others do. Plus he could at the very least channel his magic into his sword, make it worth something. With that in mind he prepared himself, sword in hand, clones at his side. He took on a stance ready to fight, just waiting for the moment that Samuel blinded the creature to jump in and try and take out the eyes if he could. Hopefully even if the creature was not completely blinded, his clones would be distraction enough for him to get a hit in before it realized which one was actually him.

Holding his sword in front of him, Everette glanced over at Samuel, barely taking looking away from the creature.
"Okay ready whenever you are." He told Samuel preparing to go on his signal. It felt like a while since he had gone on a mission like this, had to fight. Everette just hoped he hadn't lost his edge. He was sure he hadn't, years of training didn't go away in a matter of months, but still it felt a little nerve wracking. Turning his thoughts away from doubt, he focused on the snake. He was an S-class, he could and would do this.

Shawn looked up as Yukyo grabbed the box. "wait don't." but it was to late there one chance to surprise them was now lost. He quickly cast sandstorm tiring to blind the bird thing, so hopefully it couldn't see them, he then used boulder bash controlling the size of it so the eggs and rocks would just cancel each other out it small parts of dust, he then made a spear (weapon make) and shot it at the bird thing still in the sandstorm cloud.

Izra nodded her head and decided to proceed with everyone else. She remembered the way to Xislyn from this area, having ventured here one or two times with Kyo. "Stay close," she warned. "And try not to touch the spiderwebs... It could be hers or her little... spiderlings." She shivered at the thought and held her flute tightly in her hand as they went deeper into the swamp. There was a thin path through the thickets and spiderwebs that forced the group to walk single file. There were many spider sacs of different sizes appearing around them; some looking like helpless insects that ventured in too close, forest creatures that made the mistake of coming this way, or unsuspecting birds being ensnared. But the group couldn't be too sure what they were since they were wrapped thick in spider webs, just the sizes appeared to be those things.

The group came closer to a large clearing overshadowed by trees where the spiderwebs became bigger and draped
everywhere around them. Only thin streams of moonlight shone through the trees to light the area around them. There were spider cocoons in the size and shape of small and medium humans everywhere one would look. Right in front of them was a ginormous tree lined with red and black candles ablaze in lanterns, and a familiar figure wrapped in black silk webs that glowed with a sort of blue aurora that disappeared around the huge tree. Her head was down, her arms outstretched on either side of her body being held back with thick string-like substance while her feet hung straight down.

Izra stopped only for a second, gazing at the figure for a moment. Seeing the familiar blonde hair, her face lit up and her eyes widened.
"Selena..." She was about to rush forward when someone stepped from around the tree.

"Not a step closer, or the girl dies," Mayor Nudgav declared. He had Muriel with him, but it appeared she didn't come willingly. One of Maliel's arm pinned painfully behind her back by Mayor Nudgav to keep her still, and a knife pressed dangerously close to her throat. The guards that were in the village earlier also appeared from around the tree, pointing their spears at the group.

Maliel looked to the group with wild eyes and then she closed them for a moment. "J-Just get Selena! Don't worry about me-!" She cried out when her arm was pulled more behind her and the knife dug into her skin barely.

"Silence, traitor," the mayor hissed. He then looked to the group, his eyes landing on Izra. He raised an eyebrow, and then saw the flute and the cloak on her. Soon, the man broke out into a smile and chuckled darkly. "So this is Necos... I assumed all of this time you were male. And you fell right in my trap..."

    Izra clenched her fist.
"Let them go! And we'll walk away peacefully."

"Bah!" Mayor Nudgav blurted out. "After all the trouble you put us through? You've taken most of our precious children away from us. Why surrender now? You've meddled too much in our affairs... Now. You have something I want." He looked over to Thea. "If you really value Maliel and Selena's lives, you will hand over 'Necos' and that fire mage to me... If not, I will slit her throat right here. And Selena will become a dry husk in a matter of seconds instead of a few weeks..."

"That's not a fair trade!" Izra argued.

The knife barely grazed across Maliel's skin, making her gasp as a trickle of blood went down her neck.
    "I'm getting impatient..."

The group must decide what to do. Somehow ambush the mayor and get past the guards, go through with the trade, or fight. The choice is yours.

Village in Peril- Conrad, Everette, Samuel

Samuel nodded his head at the two and then rubbed his hands together. "Alright, here we go..." He went on the embankment of the river, and found a sort of rocky ledge to stand on. He then put his fingers in his mouth and let out a shrill whistle. "Hey you overgrown reptile! Over here!"

The giant snake lifted its head and turned to Samuel. It nearly towered over him, and suddenly the mage felt tiny compared to it. It hissed and then opened its mouth to show pearly fangs glinting in the moonlight while bobbing its head back and forth looking for a chance to strike. Samuel acted as fast as possible and held out both of his hands towards the snake. "Eat this!" Samuel yelled. A radiant ball of light glowed in-between both hands, cascading light in every direction. The snake threw its head back in the air, blinded by the radiant glow coming from Samuel. Now was the time to move.

Thea was tempted, so tempted to just burn all the webs as she walked. It would be so easy, though ill advised. She knew better than to pull a stunt like that, especially when there was so much on the line. Tucking her hands behind her she forced herself to behave as they approached a larger clearing, filled with even more of these webs. Thea was really starting to get sick of spiders and webs and didn't want to see another one for a very long time. At the very least they found Selena, and it would be easy enough to get her out. Or it should have been if things didn't change so quickly.

As they got closer and Izra went to save Selena, the mayor stepped out holding Maliel, using her as a threat. Thea froze up for a moment, looking to the others as he demanded her and Izra as payment for Selena and Maliel. She couldn't let him hurt more people, she couldn't do that to them. Turning from her friends, she turned back to the mayor and stepped forward towards him.
"Just... just take me. Don't hurt anyone else, please. I will go willingly." As she stepped forward she had her hands behind her back, lighting up a single finger, trying to tell the boys that she was planning on fighting to get away as soon as she could. That being said she couldn't do it when there were people too close. She could feel her magic bubbling. When she fought she wouldn't want anyone else near, it would turn into a disaster.

As Samuel moved Everette started to channel his magic into his sword as he jumped forward slashing at the beast several times before several mirrored copies appeared around it. He made sure to move as he attacked in order to leave the snake confused by the time it was able to see again. There were four clones on the field as well as the real copy, if he was lucky it would hit some of the clones before ever getting to him, and maybe during that time Conrad would step in with his attacks as well, if all went well, they would finish this quickly.

Zephyr remained ever vigilant as they ventured deeper into the swamp. The spider webs around them were a sign that something could lash out at them at any given moment. Even stepping on the narrow pathway didn't help either, only grouped them up to make them an easier target in theory. His magic wouldn't be able to do much this this current situation unless they were given more space to move about. Then they had arrived at the tree, found Selena and all ruined by the mayor stepping out with Maliel as his hostage.

It was cause of his self control that he didn't use his magic to form a weapon to attack them. That would be a poor decision right now and would result in lives lost the moment when the Mayor had made his demands. He was clearly taking advantage of his position he had over them. When Thea had stepped forward, he spied the single light finger she made behind her back which further held back his gut instincts. He would trust Thea, she was a member of their guild after all and in the end wanted the same thing they did.

He started to walk with the others. As he walked he got the sense that there was something wrong. He wanted to cut the webs but Izra said not to touch the webs which ruled out cutting the webs. They seemed to be going deeper into the swamp. There was a thin path through the thickets and spiderwebs. As he walked he saw that there were many spider sacs of different sizes appearing around them; some looking like helpless insects that ventured in too close. He knew that these spiders might come a issue latter on but to kill them on the spot just seemed ill advised. They came closer to a large clearing overshadowed by trees where the spiderwebs became bigger and draped everywhere around them. Only thin streams of moonlight shone through the trees to light the area around them. The tree that could be seen was huge. Well if they had to burn this place down having that tree on fire would be the place to start.

As they walked into the clearing the He could see Selena. This happiness did not last long as the mayor soon came out from the tree and was holding Muriel with him, but it appeared she didn't come willingly. One of Maliel's arm pinned painfully behind her back by Mayor Nudgav to keep her still, and a knife pressed dangerously close to her throat. Welp. It did not surprise him in the slightest the mayor was here. He wanted to wipe that stupid grin off the mayor's face. Thea then steeped forward to offer herself up. It was not like he could stop Thea even if he wanted to. Which at this point he did not. He soon spotted a single finger light up with a flame. He then walked to a spot when he could see what was going one better, looking around before he picked the spot as he was sure the mayor had some sort of plan. It looked like he had been right about not trusting the mayor. As he stood in his spot he looked at the mayor and those that were around him.

With Conrad in his gear he waited for the plan to start. Samuel attracted the attention of the great serpent blinding it with his sun magic. Everette followed suit leading the charge with his copies. Following suit Conrad made his move, he charged to the river side then went up a boulder and leaped, the extra momentum from his speed caused him to sail through the air with a faint purple glow trailing after him. As he flew he scribled the runes across his sword. He sailed through the air and headed for the snake's back, as he got closer he saw the moonlight reflect on it's skin, except that it wasn't its skin that was reflecting but rather the sheen of some liquid that covered the serpents hide. As he got closer the smell only got worse, it smelled like the water but the stench was overpowering even in his helmet. As Conrad landed he jammed his sword down into a snake's skin unleashing the rune's powers in a flash of purple.

As Conrad got a solid grip and found his balance he withdrew his sword from the creature's skin. And started to move towards the head of the creature charging a ball of lightning within his free hand. He had to get around the spikes on the rather slippery back of the serpent heading for the head. As he moved forward the rows of spikes turned into one and he had to clamber over them then finally reaching near the head Conrad used the lightning ball like a hammer to beat away one of the spikes and the scale it was on. Conrad started to feel tired but that was just from using his armour spell wasn't it? He focussed on getting the spike away. If it was away he could jam his sword down with ease to pierce the spinal cord and end the threat immediately, he just hoped Samuel and Everette could buy him enough time.

Lakoda was moving the cart back on solid road. This was very nerve wracking to say the least, especially with pretty much two against three since Lakoda was focused on driving safely as possible. It was then shadows grabbed on the back wheels of the cart, stopping it in its place. The horses tried to move forward, but they were being held in place with the magic.

"Hand over the delivery, and we'll let you go!" The one with the shadow magic shouted from behind them. His hands were out, controlling the shadows to have an iron grip on the wheels.

A Price Unpaid- Gavin, Zephyr, Thea

Izra was the last to see the flame behind Thea's back as she stood behind everyone else. These mages weren't going to do things willingly, at least they were smart in that regard. Izra sighed and placed her flute down, kicking it to the nearest guard who picked it up right away. She then raised her hands and was about to make her way over to the mayor with Thea when she suddenly felt a searing pain in her right side. Izra gasped and froze in place, unable to speak as she stared ahead. Her ears were suddenly ringing, and her vision became cloudy.

It was then Maliel was squirming in the hold, not caring about the knife to her neck.
    "IZRA! NO!"

Izra eyes rolled back and she collapsed on the ground in a heap. She clutched her side, and blood was showing through her fingers.

    "That was unusually satisfying..."

A woman with a creepy cowl over her head and blood red eyes was standing casually behind the group. She was eyeing a knife in her hand with blood on it and traced her fingers along the top of it. "Spiked with my own poison... I wonder how long it will take for her to actually die since I did not hit vital organs..." She smiled and casually licked the knife clean, handing it to one of the mayor's shaky guards standing to the side. "Welcome to my domain, hatchlings. I am Xilyn. When I heard of your arrival, I knew this would be interesting to say the least. And you brought me a banquet I see..." She pointed a finger towards Thea, chuckling darkly.

"They're all yours," the mayor declared. He then took his knife from Muriel's throat and shoved her towards the group. "Do with them as you will."

"Oh I plan to... They've interfered enough as it was and killed my precious pet..." As the guards and the mayor stepped back into the shadows, walls of spiderwebs popped up, making it impossible for the group to leave easily. Izra was on the ground, writhing in pain and turning pale. "I do prefer young blood," Xylin said as she gestured to Selena, "but my children can feast on your corpses as well." It was then Selena's unconscious body glowed brighter, and the girl lifted her head, crying out while unconscious as more of her life source was painfully taken from her. Xylin glowed as well, smiling evilly at the group before outstretching her hand to the side. "It's time to feast, my children!"

There were the sound of high pitch screeching, and spiders the size of medium dogs began to rain down on the group. These spiders' bites could temporarily disorient any unfortunate target and make them even feel temporary sick. Four or five bites from these things, and one would start to feel the poison effects more strongly. They also had very sticky spiderwebs that could temporarily trap targets but people could get away if they used their magic and hacked away at it. It was up to the group to get rid of these pests, protect Maliel, and save Izra and Selena.

Village in Peril- Conrad, Everette, Samuel

With each blow that was given to the snake by Everette, the creature writhed and hissed outloud, slapping at the water with its tail and sending waves up on the shore. By that time, Samuel had to move out of the way in order not to be dosed by poisoned water. Just as the snake came out of blindness, it was impaled from behind by Conrad. It curled up shrieking in pain before trying to slam its own head against the rocks, but then one of its spikes started to be hammered away.

On top of the creatures head where Conrad could see, a mark of sorts was there. Not any ordinary wild creature such as this would have it...

The snake, having enough of Conrad's antics, smashed its own head against the rocks to try to get the pest off of its head, sending water everywhere as it writhed and rolled in the water to try to be free of the sword and person on its head.

Walking close to the mayor, Thea's heart hammered. She thought she knew what she doing. Thought that she was going to save everyone, but now, more than anything, The found herself terrified. Her hands were shaking at her side as she slowly lifted her gaze, waiting for the mayor to let go of Maliel. She then heard Maliel scream out and Thea whipped around to see her new friend collapsing. "No!" Thea screamed, her magic echoing it. Those who knew anything about her magic could feel it growing, see it in her face, her cheeks becoming slightly red as the head of her own flames started to take its toll on her own body. Thea clenched her hands at her side, trying her best to keep the flames in control as she looked back to the group then the mayor, before the lady appeared and started to talk to them.

Thea was frozen for a moment, not long, but long enough for the mayor to slip away, after handing over Maliel, but Selena was not free to go.
"No! Stop!" Thea screamed and cried at the lady, listening to Selena scream, and seeing Izra slowly dying on the ground. Her pale blue and gold eyes seemed to dance with a blue flame as Thea stepped forward shooting of a flame towards the lady. At first it was a red arrow, but moments after leaving her body it was a ball of blue flame instead, lashing out at everything around it, uncontrollable wild fire. The same wildfire, that, unbeknownst to her, killed her own family. She was so focused on the lady doing this all she had not noticed the smaller spider that had crept up behind her. Thea let out a yelp of pain as the fangs sunk into her thy. Blue flames shot back out at the spider, incinerating it where it stood but Thea already found herself a bit dizzy as now blue flames danced around her, seeming ready to harm anyone near the child who was having a bit of a meltdown.

As the water splashed the first of Everette's mirror clones faded away as the water hit it. Everette kept on the move though, he could see how much Conrad was hurting it, and he could see how annoyed that the creature was getting. Just a little more time, he needed just a little more if Conrad was going to do this. He couldn't keep up mirror clone trick forever, so instead he took up a fighting style he had seen someone else use before. If he kept changing the way he fought it would make him unpredictable. This style was more for damaging, and while Everette knew that wasn't his main goal. Maybe if he hurt the snake enough it would draw attention back to himself instead.

Taking a step back, Everette channeled a large amount of his own magic into the sword as he held it with both hands. He wasn't very quick moving with this fighting style, but it was more meant for damage than anything else, and he was certain that with the amount of magic he had poured into his sword, damage would be fine. Waiting for an opening, Everette launched himself forward at the snake taking a few large swings at it, putting all the force he could behind each swing before praying that Conrad would finish the thing off quickly before he tired himself out too much.

As he watched Thea walk slowly towards the mayor he knew that there was something wrong. Something just did not feel right. The air felt stale and he was sure that the mayor had some sort of plan. He then watched as Izra placed her flute down, kicking it to the nearest guard who picked it up right away. He was not sure what she was doing any advantage they needed and giving up a weapon did not seem like the best idea. The mayor did say that he wantted Izra too. So soon Izra made her way slowly over towords the mayor. He watched as Izra got stabbed in the side. Welp this was not going well. He could feel anger fill him but he need to stay strong and think or people could die. A woman with a creepy cowl over her head and blood red eyes was standing casually behind the group. She was eyeing a knife in her hand with blood on it and traced her fingers along the top of it. 'Spiked with my own poison... I wonder how long it will take for her to actually die since I did not hit vital organs...' Xilyn he thought. Muriel was now standing by them so she need protection. How he wished there was more then three of them at this moment. Even if he could get a message to Midarah by the time she got to where they were it would be to late. Soon the mayor was gone with his guards so following them was not a option at the moment as the path was cut off. It was then he gave a nod to Zephyr with a unspoken plan. This was not good. He started spinning his weapon like a helicopter blade as wind began to flow through the area. Any spiders that were unfortunate to cross his path were soon thrown several feet away. As he spinned his weapon he then pointed it towards Selena as wind rushed towards her cutting her free. Then as Selena dropped to the ground he cast a wind shield around her. He made his way over to Izra who did not make it that far from the group. He did not like this. He sat her up slightly and put his hand on her side blood going on the ground, but he did not care. He watched as the cut began to close. He keep a eye out for any threats that might come his way.

Zephyr had been on guard the moment Thea started walking towards the Mayor, even if he did have faith in her he didn't doubt that something would occur after Thea made her move. It was a gut feeling he had and one he was fully willing to act on. Then Maliel had screamed. He spotted Izra falling to the ground next to them. He could feel his anger grow and his magic surge throughout his body at what was behind them. How? How did she get there, he didn't feel any sort of presence behind them.

His instincts were feel him to attack, to fight the demon that was before them to stop all this. However the situation itself was in ill favor to do that and he knew that. When the four spiders than had been blown back by Gavin's wind magic had bounced off the webs around them and right for him, Zephyr had made his move by cutting them all down in a single strike from his flame coated sword. "Hold her still." He may not have been able to help with the physical injury, but the poison he was able to deal with. He grabbed the vial that he'd gotten from Selena, opened it and dripped some of it past her lips and into her system. Zephyr stood back up and once the vial was away, went back to cutting away the spiders that leap towards him and Gavin. All while keeping an eye on Xislyn.

Izra grunted in between clench teeth when Gavin sat her up. The open cut rubbed against itself as she was moved, making it even more awful to deal with than it was. Everything was disoriented, and it was getting harder to breath. Even with the wound closed, she still felt off. It was then a shadow loomed over her, and she felt something cool pass her lips. It shot through her system immediately, dispelling the poison and fixing the rest of the injury that Gavin couldn't fix (though it was mostly taken care of thanks to him). Izra sat straight up, gasping for air as the effects of the potion took hold. "Thank you," she breathed out to Gavin and Zephyr. She wasn't sure what happened, but she felt better than ever and wasn't going to question it for long in this time of crisis. One look around, she could see that Thea was doing her best to stand on her own against the small spiders. Izra furrowed her eyebrows and pulled out a smaller flute, playing a quick tune. Shadows rushed forward, helping the girl dispel the rest of the spiders around her by ripping their legs to shreds, or bashing them against the tree stumps or ground around her.

Meanwhile, Selena was floating lifelessly in Gavin's windshield, not moving at all. Maliel scrambled up to her feet, avoiding the blue flames and spiders the best she could as she sprinted toward her sister.
    "Selena!"

Xilyn growled when her magic boost was taken from her. The blue flames would prevent her from getting to her desired target, but the other one was just being guarded by a wind shield. Smirking to herself, Xilyn crossed her arms over her chest and suddenly acceded into the air past her spider children.

As Maliel was about to get closer to her sister, she was suddenly struck from the side by a large spider leg and into the spiderweb wall close by. The air was knocked out of the poor girl, and now she was suddenly stuck.

"Whoops. Clumsy me..." Xilyn chided as she descended to stand close by Selena. The windshield was proving to be a problem though. Looking to the source, Xilyn outstretched her hand towards Gavin, sending a wave of spiderlings towards Zephyr and Gavin that were spitting out small spats of poison and spiderwebs to ensnare them.

Meanwhile Maliel struggled against the webbing, trying to break free. Even more spiders now made their way down to their target in the webs. Maliel started to be encased with the spiderwebs, crying out in frustration as her vision was becoming obscure with webbings.
