i dunno. i divided the 3 numbers with the -4xy and put the numbers together and that's what i got.
it's one of the available answers, but that doesnt prove anything...

    here are the possible answers...

    -6x - 2y - 2
    -6x - 2y + 2
    6x - 2y - 2
    6x + 2y + 2

    (24x^2y) - (2xy) - (2)

Since the 24x is raised to the power of 2y, it's not divisible by -4xy. The first 8xy was squared, to you divide by 2 and leave one of the xy's. Then the last one is the same as the previous, but you don't leave the xy.

    24x^2y + 8xy^2 + 8xy
    -----------------------------
    -4xy

    -6x - 2y - 2

    Yep.

My bad, I was treating xy as 1 factor. DD's right.

    32x^4 - 12x^2 + 7x by 2x.
    this would be 16x^3-6x+3.5
    right?

Right, but never write the 7/2 as 3,5. You should always leave it as 7/2.

    16x^3 - 6x + 7/2

    I left 7/2 as a term since it's exact. But yeah you're right. :]
