I tried to do them again and followed some advice, since Im taking some tuts right now...and I was bored and named them if there were like Drinks or Paint XD Peach Tea Terra: Green Sorrow Cloud: Fab Purple Kuja: Hellish Red Kefka: Yellow Onion Onion Knight:
To be honest, I think you just used a gradient and lowered it's opacity. In my opinion, I preferred the white ones. This isn't to say they are bad, they just look bland; that can work for some avatars(like the first dissidia batch), but not on these. I think you should experiment with your brush and filter arsenal, and try new things...trial and error is sometimes the best way to get around.
Persoanlly, the only decent one is the first, cause the color isnt over taking the whole icon. I think I liked your first batch more because of that reason alone. Render the image itself and THEN add a background if you wanna go the extra mile. Pretty sure thats the only problem.
Much better with the contrast, but the backgrounds are still boring. Try using some light brusheing to make some effects and spice it up.
I see, But I dont know what to do with the brush, and when I use it the color comes out think and noticeable...so I dont use it. I tried this also:
Another easy way to get around not-rendering the image is by creating the background layer and setting it to multiply, I think. For the avatar I have now uses that method. As I said, just try some more gradients, effects, filters. Use your imagination, the possibilities are quite expansive.
I see, and I can use this for any color...It seems everytime I do it it comes out with the brush strokes showing.
I'm guessing you know how to create layers, right? After you create one, then you can change the layer mode, to overlay, screen, dissolve, ect. Just set the color you want the avatar to have and then set the layer to multiply. But from what I'm hearing, I'd advice you read some tuts, and experiment with your arsenal of tools. I know it's tempting to try and post anything and everything, but it's essential to get a good grasp of what you're doing, too.
Same here, I'd recommend you read tuts to understand the extent of your tools. I don't know much of Photoshop, but it's not that different from GIMP.
I did, I edited the colors and such.. I didnt alter the picture in anyway, I just changed some colors and the lighting
kool, those are really good, but really boring xD i think you should add a gradient pattern to the background and smudge the background in with the pic. other than that nice 1 !!
