Well if you didn't know Dissidia's english Demo is coming out today on PSN. Its not out at the moment but it will probably be out at 6:00 EST http://na.square-enix.com/dissidia/
But usually for something as popular as Dissidia, PSN will wait to release a demo until 11 EST for shits and gigs to mess around with fans Edit: To my surprise it is available now. Going to download shortly.
Downloaded it a few hours ago. IT'S FUN! The game can be hard. Oddly, Sephy's 'black materia' attack is slow as hell! If it wasn't for that, he'd be a complete monster.
Has anyone got any news about when this will be coming to the European PSN? Or direct me to somewhere I can download this one? I'd appreciate that...
I heard its not coming out on the European PSN As for what I think of the demo well it is very fun. To my surprise I enjoyed playing Sephiroth. It seemed they made his moves more faster then the Japanese version. I just wish Garland, Warrior of light or Golbez were playable
FFFFFFUUUUUUU- nah, actually, I don't mind. I set up an american account on my PS3, which allows me to get to the american PS Store (despite the fact it knows it's an english machine... whatever) and downloaded the demo. WOW THIS GAME IS AMAZING!! Seriously, I have no complaints about this game, other than Cloud of Darkness spamming the hell out of one move, and I've hardly put the demo down. I have to agree with the Sephiroth point, massively fun to play as. I've been wondering though, whose absent from the demo? I mean, we've got the five we can play as (OK, Cecil, Terra, Cloud and Sephiroth), and most others as enemies, but is there anyone you lot haven't seen/fought against? I haven't seen Mateus, Bartz, Exdeath, Ultimecia and Kuja. And there's Shantotto/Gabranth, but I didn't expect them, TBH.
I fought Jecht. Or however you spell his name. Play as Cloud and you'll most likely see him. And then there's Leon who appears a bit too. Eh. Cloud seems to have less moves than other people but I dunno why...but he seems to be better than most characters. XD I dunno. Maybe I'm just being a fanboy but Sephy and Cloud are amazing. Oh! And playing in hard mode unlocks different/more powerful moves. Well...only as long as you're in that mode. In easy Cloud fires only one Comet...thing. In Hard, he fires three and they move faster. Sephiroth gets the Black Materia(I don't think I can make him use that attack in easy) and this one...stabbing...move. The Black Materia's fun but it's slow. <<;
The demo was really cool. I actually took the time to play through all of the characters and difficulties to feel each style of gameplay. Here's my two cents: Onion Knight: It was actually one of the easiest to manage for me because of his fast attacks, despite them being weak. I think I'll play him right after I play Cloud in story-mode. Cecil: As a Dark Knight, really hard to pull off attacks. His only ranged attack is pretty slow and overall his speed is really slow. So I always ended up turning into a Paladin and creating more speed for him. I believe I heard that Saint's Fall was nerfed but I couldn't really tell. It was also hard to actually pull off as well. In Hard Mode there were more attacks but the same problem sometimes occurred. Overall, one of the more harder characters to control. Terra: Really nice long range attacks but I feel as if Tornado was harder to pull off than the Japanese version (at least, it looked like it). But pretty easy to control, nonetheless. Cloud: Of course my favorite, Cloud was my first character to use. Although, in both modes he had very few moves to do so I was always using Braver or Cross-Slash for HP attacks. Still, it was pretty easy to break opponent's BP because of his enormous strength, which was a great advantage to defeat them. Sephiroth: Surprisingly, Sephy was both easy and hard to control. His Brave attacks were the easier ones, breaking opponent's BP with no hesitation. However, I can tell that most of his HP moves were toned down and changed. For instance, Hell's Gate as a shorter range striking down which bothered me a lot, 'specially since I kept on using the move to attack. But I admit, I think I may consider Sephiroth as one of the top characters for me to play first. The voices were better than I expected. Cecil's voice, however, sounded too much like "a heroic knight" or something along the lines of that. Otherwise, I was pleased with the demo and cannot wait for the release. Just only a month to go...
It seems like I dont have a memory card to play the demo DX But I have seen the videos, and by far it is going to be the best game for the PSP for a bit.
There's a lot more places in the demo than I thought. Apparently it seems like almost every stage is in it. In a Sephiroth VS Kefka fight(the fourth round is a random map) I ended up fighting in...well...some sort of building. There were a lot of...capsules or something in it. Still. My favorite place is that one stage where in the middle there is this golden-ish crystal platform thing. Running on walls there is so fun. And I think that's the only place where you can hear the epic FFIX battle music. 8D Although you might have to die and retry the stage to get the music. @-@ On another note, a few days ago I found out that in Hard Mode, when you're in the air as Cloud, holding down forward(on the stick) and pushing circle does a move called Getsugatenshou. It if connects, it looks like Omnislash V.5(the Omnislash Cloud uses in Advent Children) but faster. 8D Can't wait to use the real thing in the actual game. And the blade beam. And meteor. Gr. In normal mode Cloud has Sonic(or whatever it's called in FFVII) but not on hard mode. DX I like stabbing people. D:
Holy crap. Jecht is one awesome mofo. His attacks just seem to continue on and on. I didn't even win against him on hard mode with Sephiroth. So I barely survived against him in normal mode with Terra.
