    Everything else is supplemental to the films and not integral to the story. I'ts possible to judge a movie series without reading the 50 billion books that were made afterwards.

    I just want to bring up the fact that Disney bought Marvel Films several years ago, and that brought us the new age of comic book movies (Iron Man, Thor, Avengers). While they didn't exactly produce the movies, Disney helped create "Marvel Studios" and fund the movies.
    The same will probably happen with Lucas Films and the new star wars movies.
    This'll be fine, most probably. Can't be worse than the prequel-trilogy anyway.

    That's not what I said. I said that as the films are now nothing is needed, and to understand the movies reading the books is not necessary.
    There are no questions that need answered, no loose ends that need to be tied, nothing.

    Most sequels aren't meant to tie loose ends. When the Avengers movie project started with Iron Man, it was supposed to stand alone with the extra credit scene simply being fanservice.

    Episodes I - VI cover the Skywalker saga. It really depends on where/when they want to set VII onwards, but there's a lot in the EU about Luke and Leia's children (NOT TOGETHER). Still Skywalker So there is grounds for continuation--or they could go somewhere else (OLD REPUBLIC PLZ).
    Speak for yourself, I'd love more Star Wars movies, long as they're good. And hey, if they're bad, they're fun to laugh at. and secretly love
