    -pops out of nowhere-

When I heard Roxas say that, i thought he meant DiZ. Because of the line that he said right before Sora woke up.

"I need someone who can move about the realm of light, and destroy Organization XIII."

...Then again, I never really did understand why Roxas said it. Up until now, I KINDA thought I did...

Nomura confirmed the names in an interview.

There's a lot of things that are going around, but the one thing I'm still confused on is why people think that Terra is Xehanort in some way.

They can't be the same people. Xenmas is still hanging around when you fight Terra, and Terra mistakes Sora for Xehanort...Terra also hates Xehanort's guts, cause when you go for a rematch against Terra, he states something like, "Will you allow me to ingrain my hatred of Xehanort into you?" or something to that effect.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that Terra did pass down the Kingdom blade but something around Xehanort muddles it up. Maybe it has to do with he chose Xehanort but Xehanort turned out to be an evil person, then lost his memories in a battle between the two, and Terra was trapped on the desert world, while Xehanort ended up with DiZ. The Keyblade, unable to function with Xehanort without his memories, went to the next most liable person, Riku. When Riku chose darkness instead of light, Sora got the Keyblade instead...

    Does that make sense?

wow so it was like passed down cuz everyone turned evil. Hm yea it would make sense for Terra thinking Sora was Xehanort since he had the keyblade... And I guess there's more at stake then we thought there was. I mean there is the past of Xehanort and Ansem The Wise. How did they get the study of hearts? What conjured up the interest? I don't know if that has to do with Terra and the others but it would shed some light on things. Perhaps Terra is conected to Xehanort somehow? Idk it might explain his changing eye color OR perhaps he had the power of darkness too.

I wonder why the keyblade was passed down from Riku to Sora, cause a keyblade is a keyblade.

    1. Strong heart=keyblade

    2. Strong heart + corrupted heart=keyblade

    Proof of this
    - Sora had the black keyblade in his hand before he stabbed himself and it didn't dissapear. Do you think it would really matter if it was reversed? Riku (dark) with kingdom key (light). It doesn't matter, so why did it end up with Sora?

It doesn't matter that Riku went to the darkness he could still use one, right? So why did Sora get it (uh-oh, I'm repeating myself). But is there a chance that Terra sent the keyblade to Destiny Islands thinking it would wind up with Riku? But instead Sora got it on accident because Riku dissapeared just before he would have received it.

    That make sense?

Riku's dark keyblade in KH1 was a fake keyblade, made from the hearts of the Seven Princesses : since he made it himself, it probably only has the appearance of a keyblade, not its powers, nature or origin.

The reason the keyblade went from Riku to Sora was not exactly because Riku opened his heart to darkness : it was because doing that weakened it. Darkness itself is a powerful but dangerous tool, since the emotions it exacerbates and unleashes are fierce, but can overwhelm your heart and blind it.

Riku opened himself to darkness out of fear of stagnation (that's why he wanted to leave the island and go on adventures) and fear of the unknown : the reason he wen to darkness was because he thought it would make him stronger, when it only enslaved him. In CoM he learned to use the darkness in a different way, by harnessing and mastering it.

When you're careless using the darkness, it will end up blinding you, overwhelming and enslaving you, making you a heartless. And a heartless cannot use a keyblade, since its heart has no willpower, only dumb instinct. And keyblades only go to strong hearts : in Hollow Bastion, Riku was able to take it from Sora because he was its original master. But when Sora confronted Riku, his light-filled heart was stronger than Riku's, who was already relying too much on darkness, he took it back.

A keyblade can be used by a heart strong enough, no matter if its master uses it for good or evil. The only thing that matters is the strength of the heart, which can be diminished by the enslaving power of darkness. Riku was afraid, deep down in his heart, and Jack Sparrow is not dedicated enough to use it. On the other hand, Kairi is a Princess of the Heart, so she can use a keyblade, and Sora's such a care-free, brave, and stupid hero, with a heart incapable of despair, that he's a perfect keyblade master.

This is all a lot to think about. But there was a recent trailer where the images of Sora, Roxas, and Terra flash across the screen with the message "with who does the next story lie?"

It makes sense if we say Terra chose Riku as the heir of his keyblade, and then Sora received the keyblade instead because Riku's heart became weak. But why would Roxas be asking Sora, "Why did he chose you?" To me, the nuance of the question isn't why was Sora chosen over Riku, but why Sora was chosen over Roxas. It feels like he's yelling over the unfairness of "Why do you get to exist, but not me?"

Also, Roxas may have visited the Room of Sleep. He was an Organization member after all.

If you look at Kanji's theory that Roxas was talking about Terra when he said "he" and you also look at the fact that Terra says "why did it pick you" then I realize that he could be talking about Riku. Riku was meant to be the original Keyblade Master, that's *maybe* who Terra chose (we know they are connected) and he is wondering why someone else other than Riku is standing in front of him.

But doesn't he confuse Sora for Xehanort?

    Let's review what he says:

Sora arrives with Donald and Goofy. Terra senses someone else there, so he says the first two names that pop into his head, his old companions:

    Aqua...Ven...

Sora pops out his Keyblade at the guy's words, and Terra notices.

    Keyblade...

He doesn't recognize Sora's aura however, but he can feel the keyblade which he has sensed before.

Who are you? I can feel it...

He then confuses him for someone else...

We have met before...It was when...

Then he realizes it wasn't Sora he met before, it was someone else that he had chosen (perhaps for the keyblade).

    No...it isn't you...it isn't you that I have chosen...Why is it not him...

    Now this is really weird.

    Xe...ha...nort...is that you?

    He's confusing Sora for Xehanort.

    Xeha...nort...Xehanort!

He than attacks Sora and after you beat him, he says:

I see. Your strength is...What I sensed in you is...

Then he bows. It seems he realized that the strength in Sora is different than Xehanort's...

    When you return, he says:

So you have returned, young Keyblade user. I have no further power to give you. All I have is my hatred for Xehanort. Will you allow me to engrave that into your heart?

So, he seems to confuse Xehanort for Sora. Why is it not him...Xehanort...though is really confusing, unless he's asking if Sora is Xehanort. But even then, why is not Xehanort, is it Xehanort? No, it's Sora, but it's rather confusing and strange.

If you don't mind, I'd like to kinda change the subject.

The rumor going around (or maybe it was a rumor) that the voice you hear in the Awakening is Terra's.

I really dont know what to say about this

    It's not...

It just doesn't add up. The only two voices I could see it being would be King Mickey, or the Keyblade itself. I tend to lean towards King Mickey, especially after the scene with Riku in the darkness (I mean, King Mickey is supposed to be there already, gaining the keyblade for darkness, right?).

I doubt that's Terra. And why did the voice go away in kh2? I liked it.

That voice was useless anyway. It just randomply spoke to Sora in KH1 and near the end of the game, Donald and Goofy can't hear it, so it's talking about Sora and no one else.

I had numerous guesses about who it was. Mickey, Kairi, Xehanort's Heartless, DiZ, Xemnas, even Yen Sid. Who do you suppose it was, anyway?

Well let's see...The one who made the keyblades must have spoken to sora...So i believe one of the chasers was the one who spoke to sora...I mean he says:Don't worry, you have the mightiest weapon of all.And with that he means the keyblade right? And only the creator of such a weapon would know its power...On the other hand there is that org member that shows up at the secret place. But that's xemnas right?Ah it's too weird i don't really get it...

As stated by Sora in Hollow Bastion, he doesn't need the keyblade, he has a greater weapon: his heart. I believe what the voice is stating is that Sora has the greatest weapon of all: a strong heart. And further, it's not Xenmas who visits Sora in the secret place, but Ansem the Heartless. Riku gets taken over by the same person and turns into Ansem so...it must be Ansem!

Hello! Allow me to introduce myself: I am Terra...well, not really :D. Anyway, i'm a HUGE fan of the Kingdom Hearts series and I hope to be a fan of the new series that Tetsuya Nomura announced. The trailer itself is enticing. Well, I just wanted to stress my grettings to you all. I plan to post on this thread A LOT. I may be new to KH-Vids.net, but I am DEFINITELY not new to the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Happy Posting!

    Yours Truly,

    Terra

Almost nothing in Kingdom Hearts is useless. At first (meaning even before chain of memories) I thought it was Mickey, but now I don't think so. Mickey's powerful, but not "all-knowing," which is the sense that we get from the voice. Also, since Donald and Goofy have a much stronger connection with the king than Sora does, it would make sense that they would be be able to hear him at the end of the game as well. So, probably not Mickey.

Definantly not Kairi, since the voice speaks to Sora so formally.

Xehanort's heatless seems logical, but still not very likely...The voice seems friendly espiecally at the end since it says something along the lines of "this is the last haven you will find here..." I don't think Xehanort's heartless would express concern for someone he is about to fight. Also, the voice speaks again when the three are chasing after Pluto (right before chain of memories). At this point, Xehanot's heartless is dead...

Xemnas, yet another possibility, but probably not .In kh1 final mix, when Sora encounters Xemnas, Xemnas treats it like their first meeting.

Yen Sid, another definite "no." It may seem like it's him when he says to Sora (in Twilight Town) "You are the Key that will open the door to light," but he's just not that important to the story, so I don't think they would give him such a big "alter-ego" if you will.

DiZ/Ansem the Wise is a good candidate. We know that he, in a way, used Sora to get his revenge on Xehanort, so it would be in his best interest to start Sora off. But this still depends on which "door" they are referring to..."Kingdom Hearts" or "The Door To Light" seen at the end of kh2 (which sends Sora and Riku back to Destiny Islands. There wasn't enough emphhasis put on this "Door to Light"...It was mentioned ever since the Pre-COM scene ("You are the one who will open the door to the light") and was not discussed much since. If he referred to Kingdom Hearts, (correct me if I'm wrong) Ansem would mean for Sora to complete his vengence. As for the door to light, I'm not too sure what that would mean, since Ansem wouldn't directly benefit from Sora returning home.

I think Terra is the most probable choice. Though we don't know for sure what the purpose of the awakening is, we can assume that it is an initiation for the new Keyblade Master. If the theory of Keyblade weilders chosing their successors is true, this would make sense that Terra would speak to Sora personally. It also makes sense that Sora would be the only one who could hear the voice, since there's a connection between Sora and Terra. The kh1 opening sequence foreshadows what happens between Sora and Riku on the Destiny Islands Departure. The water can come to represent darkness (note how Riku does that same hand gesture in the intro and departure). The tidal wave swallows Riku, and Riku accepts it, while Sora tries to save him. The same theme follows through on the departure. Shortly after, Sora is ushered into the Awakening. Riku is gone at this point, so maybe the awakening was originally meant for Riku, as well as the Keyblade. Another interesting concept is the name of their home town: Destiny islands. Riku was destined to get the Keyblade. However, on the night that their island was destroyed, so was Riku's destiny, hence Sora being the new Keyblade Master.

We see a strong connection between Riku and Xehanort, not only in kh's plot, but in appearence as well. Perhaps there is a reason for this connection that we are currently unaware of. So maybe when Terra physically encounters Sora and sees that he weilds the Keyblade, (when it is really Riku who is supposed to have it) Terra assumes that Xehanort had interfeared with Riku's right to the Keyblade. Seeing that there is no one else who could've taken the Keyblade from Riku, (again, this is provided that Xehanort and Riku have another connection that we are unaware of) Terra mistakes Sora for Xehanort. If this connection really does exist, we cannot blame Terra for making this mistake.

(Sorry, I know that last bit was rather wordy and not very well explained, so if you have any questions about this theory, I'm all ears!)

A simpler reason for Terra being the voice is the way that Kingdom Hearts normally functions. Square Enix in general enjoys making big twists in their plots. If Terra turned out to be the voice from the very first game, it completley changes what you thought you knew, and gives people an overall "Holy s***, that's trippy!" feeling.

(Love that scene before the battle with Terra btw, just when I thought Kingdom Hearts lost its dramatic effect...)

So, what do you guys think?

    Welcome Terra ^^

    Thank you for gretting me.:D

Now on to the matter at hand:
Personally, I believe that the voice is either Xehanort or Kingdom Hearts itself.

It could be Xehanort, because he has done extensive research regarding the heart. Some of you believe that a dead man can't talk, but who's to say that his soul can't? I believe that the term "Dis-Soul" can be used here. Xehanort's soul might be calling out to Sora saying that his heart is the strongest weapon anyone could dawn.

On the other hand, maybe it is Kingdom Hearts. This could be true, because Kingdom Hearts is the heart of all worlds, which also means that it is a living being itself. As long as the other worlds are alive, so is Kingdom Hearts and vise-versa. Kingdom Hearts could have spoke out to Sora and proclaimed that the keyblade is not the ultimate weapon, but that the heart is stronger than any material object.

I haven't really talked about the voice as much as I have talked about the Secret Trailers, so please feel free to argue what I say.
