Help Direct Searches

Sometimes when I search something i get something different come up and it does get annoying. Like once i tried to search the latest question time but other threads came up like rp's and creativity corner stuff. i had to wait till someone else posted until i could. This keeps happening and it's really hard to find threads sometimes considering everything else comes up first

well the point of what im trying to say is, are we able to change the search engine to something that will take every word we search for and show the threads in which those words contain, so its more direct. it may the site easier...

You can limit searches to a section. So say you wanted to find something in Creativity, when you go to search, go to advanced search and you can make it so only Creativity is searched for that particular thing.

You don't have to do a forum wide search.

I personally find the search function to be pretty useful as it currently is. ​

 

As CtR said, the search function can be made so that you can find threads in a particular forum instead of the whole board. The search to me works fine when I use the advanced search if I need to isolate things. Otherwise, it tends to also work well. Yes other things come up on the regular search but sometimes this can also be very helpful.

 

Wait. Did you say sometimes?

I tried searching for a thread, and typed in the exsact title of it. I never found it becuz there were too many threads that had used the words that I had listed >.>

But ya, not for nothen kh-vids, but your search thing blows. It is completely useless. If you can't fix it, then do us a favor and replace it with a different feature, cuz right now all it is doing is taken up space



And, as for what CTR said. Even if you do narrow it down, you still get huge amounts of results. It honostly has never helped me. Not once

 

There are many ways of narrowing the search down to find exactly what you want.

Those were just 2 examples of how you could narrow down a search. By specifying it, I've found the search function to be very helpful.

Just keep in mind that the search function is operated by computer; computers do completely stupid things unless you specify what you want and where you want it done. :)

 

Basically what Goimez just said. Know how to use the Search Function and it's a powerful tool. Get familiar with it.

 

Sorry but if you are seriously having that much trouble with it then you are doing it wrong.

The search is actually pretty damn useful if you use it right.

May I know the thread you were searching for? I would like to see if I can find it any easier.
