Ryoji fell asleep.

 

Nina fell asleep after putting her arms around him.

 

Ryoji held her close.

 

Nina cuddled up to him and smiled.

 

Ryoji slept soundly.

 

Nina woke up when she heard Yumi crying. She went to go feed her.

 

Ryoji remained asleep when she left.

 

Nina finished feeding Yumi and put her back in the crib. She went back to the bedroom and laid back down.

 

Ryoji moved slightly.

 

Nina kissed his cheek before falling back to sleep.

 

Ryoji smiled and slept.

 

Nina woke up the next morning and went to make breakfast.

 

Ryoji woke up and yawned loudly.

 

Nina finished cooking and made a pot of coffee.

 

Ryoji read the newspaper and noticed. "It's the anniversary of your father's death."

 

"I know. I was planning to go visit his grave later."

 

"Too bad neither you or Minato remember him. He died when you were both so young. Risking his life to give one of his children the life he really wanted."

 

"Yeah. I read some of the entries he had written in his journal. He said at first, he really didn't want to marry mom because he was in an arranged marriage with her. Hattori's mother made him realize that he actually loved mom, though."

 

"But didn't he loved Hattori's mom much more?"

 

"Mom told me he loved Hattori's mom a lot. She ended up breaking off their relationship after she met his father, but said she would always love dad."
