Digital Persona Saga - Mask of Longing

"Well I see you have a sister." Snow takes the bullet. "Yep, just what I thought. Its an ordinary bullet. But, it was imbued with the powers of Arisa's persona." Snow takes a closer look at the glowing bullet. "She's still in the early stages of learning how to do this. We have to kill her before she nows how to blow a hole in the moon like I can."

 

"Wonderful........" Suki said, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

 

Cara shook her head and pulled tighter on the bandages, "Hey that's nice info and all, Snow, but what in gods name does that mean for treatment. Hello, I died when I was seven! Not been here all that long, really."

 

"I'm just saying I'm gonna go find her and kill her. You guys need to apply pressure to the wound. Then try and stitch it up somehow and bandage it."

 

Cara snorted, "It's like dealing with a child. Single-minded." her form wavered, "Lesa, I'm going to need some help. Pretty soon I'm going to fade back. I need another pair of hands." Lesa shook and nelt beside her. The sisters looked almost identical except Lesa had dyed her hair a blue and purple colour and Cara still had her natural light brown hair. Cara moved Shori's hands and quickly threaded a needle, "This is going to be bloody so I need everyone to stay conscious and not panic."

 

"You're one to talk. Anyway when you're done with that, bandage her with some kind of air tight wrap. That helps against infections."

 

Cara waved the threaded needle at him, "Do not get cute. I am holding a potential weapon." Cara fell silent while she stitched her up. "We'll have to remove the stitches once it's healed. Lesa," she quickly glanced at her sister, "Can you help me with something?" Lesa stood, "Sure, anything." Cara sucked in a deep breath, resting the needle on the bed, "Help me summon Zalera the Death Seraph." Lesa froze, "But...he could kill you." Cara shrugged, "It's worth a shot. I love Zalera, he wouldn't hurt me."

 

Shiori watched her carefully.

Minato continued to float within the empty space. "So, what going to happen to me?"

"You can't head home, just yet."

 

"That's right. You've still got business to take care of there."

 

"We'll give you some of our powers to help you return." Suki smiled.

Minato looked at her Hattori. "I just kept missing you at the lake."

 

"I would have come to see you sooner, but I've been too busy with the kids. You hurry up and finish your business so you can come home."

 

Cara stood and formed a circle with Lesa. she started chanting in latin and a dark armored skeleton persona shimmered into reality within the circle. His large wings were folded against him and his skull head looked down at Cara. He didn't speak but Cara seemed to know what he was saying, "Yes, I've asked you here for your power Zalera. I ask of you to, please, guide my friend, Minato back from the other world to us. We need her." Zalera turned his skull head and passed a dark eyeless gaze over everyone before resting on Minato.

 

Suki, Ryoji, and Teddie gave her some of their powers. Minato got ready to leave.

 

Hattori also gave her some power and faded away.

This worlds Hattori stood outside, smoking a cigarette.

This war has gone on far too long. I'm surprised my essence has kept you animated for this long, Hattori.... Metatron thought to himself as he looked at his master.

 

Minato woke up and looked around.

 

Hattori flicked the cigarette away and walked back inside.

"Good to see you back with us."

 

"Glad to be back."

 

"You all better get some rest. We head out at dawn. I'll stay up for the night watch." Hattori said before going back outside.

 

Minato went into a different room and fell asleep.

 

Zalera bowed to Cara, his whispered words from his mind to the sub-consciousness of Minato gave her family the ability to give her some of their powers and kept the reaper from her soul. Cara smoothed his wing with a bulge in it and softly crooned, "Thank you Zalera. You're generosity is great and I am gratful you ask not as much in return for your services." Zalera's skull head laughed horribly. Lesa had a horrible sinking feeling as Cara stared at her persona.
