I wonder how many times I can say "digi-" in one post?
EDIT: Even if you're new to Digimon or have no idea whatsoever what the series is about, feel free to join. We can fill you in. And I'd be glad to give you an overview through PMs. If you need help decided on a Digimon, give me something to work with (an element or an animal or whatever), and I'll help you pick one (You have no idea how many Digimon I know about).
Don't worry about the various names throughout the post that are hyperlinked. They take you to the pages of those Digimon. That's just there so if you want a picture of who I'm talking about, but you don't have to look at the pages.

Premise

The Digital World. Unlike before, everyone knows about it now. It was discovered several years ago when a group of kids fell into it and came back with partners they called Digimon. Many scientists have tried opening more portals into the world, but with no luck. Passages into the Digital World open up at random places for short periods of time. However, it isn't uncommon for someone who accidentally falls into the Digiverse (sounds so much better than Digital World) to return, more often than not, with a partner. Digimon know of the Real World and they are plenty of good Digimon who are willing to help stragglers find a way back home. If they're lucky, they get a partner. Sometimes, Digimon even end up in the Real World! However, in the cases of wild Digimon, this may result in destruction, their capture for studies, or even: death.

Unfortunately, these aren't Digidestined. Only the original kids came back with machines called Digivices. Everyone else who has gotten a Digimon has kept it as a pet or friend. Because of this, these Digimon can't digivolve. Many facilities have been built around areas where Digiportals are frequent. Explorers are quickly armed with an array of scientific equipment, including a radio, and sent into it to gather information. Data is usually gathered and sent back or brought back when they find a way home. Casualties weren't as frequent as one would think. But that all changed exactly one month ago. Out of nowhere, all camera feeds in the Digital World went blank. All radios lost contact. Explorers haven't been heard from since. The next day, every Digiverse studying facility, while trying to get a hold of their respective explorers, got a message on their screens: "After this world, you're next."


Last week, in the middle of a large city, a portal opened. Many kids, wanting Digimon, rushed to the portal, but it closed instantly. It was open just long enough for an Agumon, beaten half to death, to fall through. The Agumon muttered one sentence, "The Demon Lords...are winning," before dying. Due to it being in the Real World, it wasn't able to revert back into a Digiegg.

Three days later, in another city, across the world, a similar incident happened. This time it was a Veemon who lived long enough to be taken to the hospital. The Veemon was hysterical, yelling things like "The Royal Knights are gone! The Sovereigns abandoned us!" The last thing the blue Digimon muttered before following Agumon's fate was, "Where are the Digidestined?"

No one knew what was happening.

But one thing was certain, a war was going on.

And whoever the good side is, they're losing.


Meanwhile, in the Digiverse:
An evil group of Digimon, led by Barbamon, known as the Demon Lord Digimon have amassed a giant army of Digimon in order to revive their God, Apocalymon. No one knows exactly how they plan to do this, but it seems to have something to do with awakening another Demon Lord from his slumber. The Digimon Sovereign, the four harmonious gods of the Digiverse, usually prevent such travesties, but they are nowhere to be found. However, their warriors, a group of 13 powerful Digimon known as the Royal Knights have appeared to battle the Demon Lords. The Demon Lords and the Royal Knights have been at each other's throat since the beginning of time. It is a neverending battle of good versus evil. The leader of the Royal Knights, Alphamon, did not take part in the battle as he only appears to battle his rival, Apocalymon. But for some reason, Examon, and Omnimon, have been missing as well. No one knows why this is.
Could the Demon Lords be behind this?

The remaining Royal Knights took on the Demon Lords, declaring the battle the end of their never-ending cycle, while digital volunteers took on the Demon Lords' army. The Royal Knights seemed to have the upper hand until the Demon Lords revealed their newest member. With his help, the Royal Knights were defeated. Claiming victory, the Demon Lords delivered the final blow and the Royal Knights were obliterated. Or so it seems....

No one knows who the mysterious new Demon Lord is. All Digimon in the vicinity who were survived the battle where either destroyed by the Demon Lords afterward, or captured to be destroyed later.

Preparing to put their final plan into fruition, the Demon Lords are unaware of what really happened in their final fight. The Royal Knights who were fighting knew they stood no chance. Before their "deaths," they gathered all their power into their bodies. Once destroyed by the Demon Lords, the 10 Knights' power traveled the Digiverse and embedded themselves in other Digimon. These Digimon are the next generation of Royal Knights. But they're still rookies. While they hold a fraction of a Royal Knight's power, the rest is hidden in special Digieggs spread across the land. If they only they had a partner to help them find these eggs....

Back at the Real World.

Suddenly, in the middle of large cities across the world, Digiportals opened up! However, no one was able to enter any of them. But a signal came from the portal. Selected people suddenly get a text message. "Come here," followed by a picture of a map. For their own reasons, whether it be boredom or curiosity, they obliged. Once near the Digiportal...they got sucked in. Waking up in groups near each other, they all see their cell phones transform into other kind of machines. Upon looking up, they find themselves in a dark forest, the sky a dark purple, roars heard in the distance. Upon hearing a noise, they turn around and find a Digimon. The Digimon somehow knows their name. It seems the new generation of Digidestined have been chosen.

"Why do humans look so weird?" asked the reptilian soldier Digimon as it sniffed the face-down person laid before it. Commandramon felt a pull towards the Dark Forest and knew his "other" must be there. Unfortunately, he simply found a human body. Commandramon knelt down sniffed the light black hair. "He kinda stinks, too," noticed the Digimon before the human stirred.
The first thing Wyatt did when he started to regain consciousness was wiggle his toes. What? The last thing he remembered was walking down the sidewalk towards the Digiportal, so why did he feel dirt underneath his feet instead of concrete? Remembering the sudden feeling of falling into water, Wyatt shivered before realizing he wasn't the least bit wet. "What's...ugh," he moaned as a small rush of air brushed through his hair. "What happen-" He started to get up and open his eyes before Commandramon freaked out.
"AHH, IT'S ALIVE!" Commandramon yelled before slamming his rifle into Wyatt's head and jumping back.
"OW!! What the hell, man-" Wyatt fell back to the ground as his hands reflexively reached to his head to cover the pain.

Ellen felt dirt under her sandal-footed toes, wait, her sandals were gone. She grabbed some dirt between them and sighed, she had no clue what happened. That Digital portal must have sent her to the digital world, but why? She listened to the low breathing of a blue being beside her,She wasn't alone, especially not next to her. She turned her head to her right and saw it, a digimon, a Vee-mon/V-mon. She stared at for a moment, and then realized it was sleeping . "Hey....GET UP!"she exclaimed, hesitating to touch the blue beast.

V-mon wasn't truly asleep, he was sniffing her, getting used to her scent. He opened his eyes from his concentration and stared at the girl. "Wow. Your a human? Humans smell a lot like pollution and smoke." he simply smiled. He wasn't of this human, especially a female one too.

It had been only a couple of minutes since Ryo awoke and met the red dragon Digimon who was standing right beside him. "so...this is the digiverse. Never thought I would meet Digimon, let alone actually reach where they come from" Ryo said gazing at the forest he was in and was still found it hard to believe that he was actually in the Digiverse. All he could actually remember was the feeling of drowning in water and awakening in the forest

The red Dragon Digimon named Guilmonstood beside the human he found. It was threw a quick stroll that he found this human laying on the ground.The thing that he found strange was that he not only knew this human's name but also felt as if he knew him a long time "Its not often that a human comes here although I have heard a lot of stories about how Digimon usual find portal that lead to the world of the humans" Guilmon said and looked up at the human "say why don't you stick with me. It is dangerous for a human tom travel the digiverse alone" Guilmon said

Ryo looked over at Guilmon "yeah that would be great. From now on we shall be traveling partners" Ryo said with a small smile. He knew going alone would be foolish so it was better off if he had a digimon to travel with

 

Marcus sat down. It was tough realising that he had been taken to the digiverse. "So,BlackGuilmon, why exactly are you here?" he asked.
"To help you,human" was BlackGuilmon's reply.
"Ok..well,lets get exploring then. I mean,there's gotta be more people here right?" Marcus asked half heartedly.
BlackGuilmon sighed. This human was certainly a strange one.

 

"You scared me pretty hard there. I thought you were dead." Ellen laughed un-evenly. The digimon seemded to laugh with her.
"I'm Vee-mon! I saw you crash here, and I knew instantly who you were! Its great to meet you Ellen!" he jumped onto her lap and hugged her. Finally a way to become stronger, this girl would help him surely.
Ellen smiled and put a hand on V-mon's head. "How do you know my name?"
"Your my partner of course! I must know your name!" he exclaimed as if it made all sense. Silly humans.
Ellen didn't want to get anymore in it. "Then I must be in the digi-world."She looked around, stilling rubbing Vee-mon's head and found her sandals four paces away. "LEt me get my sandals on, then we'll go look around and talk more."she stood, V-mon clinging to her stomach.
"Dude! Totally! I'll tell ya all about me! And this super cool scar I just got! I was running from home right!?"he started his life-long story.

Marcus was walking with BlackGuilmon. He hadn't been walking very far when a thought occured to him. "Why exactly are you helping me,BlackGuilmon? You could just as easily be helping other people" he said.
BlackGuilmon looked at Marcus. "You are my partner. I will help you throughout your time here in the digital world" was the reply.
"Works for me" Marcus said. He wasn't 100% sure,but he thought he could hear excited voices nearby. probably nothing, but i'd still better make sure he thought. He started to walk towards the voices. "Where are you going Marcus?" BlackGuilmon asked.
"Over this way,i think i heard someone..or something. Follow me!" he said cheerfully as he broke into a run towards the voices, with BlackGuilmon running alongside him.

 

Ellen slid on her sandals, hitting the tip of them on the ground to secure them between her big toe. She looked up and instantly heard the sound of running. "Are we alone here? Are there more people?"she asked in a stoner like tone, leaning back slightly. She really didn't want to act like a true 'Brit' now.
"Of course Bro! Probably millions now! I saw some portals open up here and there, and some peeps dropping out of them! But I was attracted to you most!"he jumped off from her stomach and pulled up his shoulder. "From what I can smell, its another digimon and it's partner!"
"Right....Right..."Ellen nodded. "Hope the dude can hang loose."​

 

Marcus was still running. After a few moments,he saw a girl and a Veemon in the distance. He kept running, and stopped a short distance away from them. "Well,hi" he said. He turned to look at BlackGuilmon,who had stopped next to him. "See,there are more people here!" he said.
"I never doubted you" BlackGuilmon said seriously.
Marcus looked at the girl and Veemon. "How long have both of you been here?" he asked.
"And have you seen any others?" BlackGuilmon added.

 

Haruka fell from the sky in a torrent of water.
She hit the ground hard... no it wasn't the ground... it was something soft... sorta...
"Owowowowouch..." she stuttered. Suddenly she heard a muffled noise come from beneath her.
"Mmmmmffph!" it cried out, "I'm not exactly the softest thing you could have chosen to land on!"
Haruka jumped up with a start, revealing a yellow/orange-ish, sort of... lizard thing. "I'm sorry! are you okay?!"
"I've been better." It told her while standing up. "Are you okay Haruka?"
"Oh don't worry, I'm alright. I-... um... you just... said my name?" she said suddenly realizing the fact.
"Yeah? ...and?"
"I don't get it... um, how do you know it?"
"Well, why wouldn't I?" He asked her, clearly confused at what she was making a fuss about.
"But... Well..." she looked for the right words. "We've only just met right?"
"Well, of course... so?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.
Haruka sighed. "Never mind..." She stood up and stretched, "So... where exactly is this place? One minute I'm skating to school... and I get this text, I followed what it said thinking it would be better than school... and suddenly I'm here."
"You're in the digital world." He told her like it was obvious.
"The digital world?! That means, you're a Digimon!" She suddenly face palmed... of course he's a Digimon she told herself, it's not every day you meet a talking lizard right?
"Well yuh! I'm Agumon."
"Agumon huh? ..." She stared at him. "Um... I guess I should say thanks for breaking my fall."
He laughed. "It was nothing..."
"No, really, thanks, I mean-"
He interrupted her "I mean... I wasn't trying to catch you, I was just walking through here. I felt compelled to come here, like this exact spot, and then... Bam... I'm flattened into the dirt."
"Oh..." They both started to laugh really hard at this.

 

Gatomon looked over at the girl who had fallen from the sky. She wasn't moving. She stalked over to her and reached out a paw, to see if she was breathing. As soon as she was about to get close enough...

The girl blinked, she sat up instantly, she knew exactly where she was, and couldn't be happier. She let out a girly squeal.
The cat-like Digimon was startled and jumped several feet back. Then walked back over to where the girl was, "Was that really necessary Alana?" She asked looking up at her with a smirk on her face.
"Of course it wa- wait. How do you know my name?" She looked over at the Digimon.
Gatomon simply smiled and said, "We're partners."
Lana let out a squeal again and grabbed Gatomon in a tight hug. "We're going to be the best partners ever! Oh, and you can call me Lana, most everyone does." She held the Digimon out at arms length and smiled widely at her.
"You don't seem so bad." Gatomon said to the smiling girl, and gave her a small smile back.

 

Junichi lay on his front on the ground as a small digmon, Hyokomon was poking him with it's toe, checking if he was alive. "He doesn't smell much." Hyokomon said as Junichi's hand twitched and he could feel the ground...wait..the ground felt like grass, wasn't he walking before?

"Grass?" Junichi first thought and brought himself to his knees, taking in the surroundings, it was a forest no less but everything was green, not pink like the sakura back home then he turned his attention to a small chick with a very small sword who was sizing him up. "...A Digimon?" He asked and Hyokomon nodded. "Yeah! I'm Hyokomon and I'm your partner Junichi!" He said with a smile somehow.

"Yeah that's my...wait...I never even told you my name." Junichi said as he thought about it and Hyokomon stared at his partner. "It's just a gut feeling I had and happily, I was right!" Hyokomon said cheerfully.

 

Sakura simply stared at the fox creature who took down the large dragon that was about to attack her. The fox digimon turned around at her and held out her hand, "Here, let me help you, Sakura." Sakura was surprised at the digimon knew her name as she accepted the help, "How is it you know my name? Who are you?"


"My name is Renamon and I am your partner," Renamon said, helping Sakura stand up. "I just simply know your name, that's all."

 

Ellen shook her head, she hadn't seen anyone but him. "No one but you bro. I'm Ellen, this is-"she held out a hand to the blue digimon beside her.
"I'm Vee-mon! Ellen's partner! Dude its cool to meet ya both. Especially a black version of a digimon." V-mon happily finished Ellen's sentence. "You two look strong. Even if your just starting out."
"I just landed here. Then I met this little dude." she smiled politely. She was happy she didn't have to bring out her 'British charm' and be etiquette.

"I'm Marcus. This here is my partner, BlackGuilmon" Marcus said as he introduced BlackGuilmon. "We haven't seen anyone except you here either" he said.

 

"I wonder... who sent the text... why am I here?"
"I don't know who sent the text. But I do know why you're here." Agumon told her.
"You do?" Haruka said with interest.
"Yup."
"... Um... aren't you going to tell me?" she asked.
"You're my partner" he told her looking up at her happily.
"Me? but why me? I mean... wow..."
"I don't know why... All I know is who you are and that we're partners. I don't remember anything else really... My mind is blank... I just woke up in the middle of nowhere one day. I don't know how I got here, who I was... If I had friends, family or what..." Agumon said sadly.
Haruka felt sympathy for him build up immediately... She completely understood how it was... she had been through exactly the same thing, she woke up one day in the middle of nowhere to find she had nothing... everything was gone... lost.
She picked him up and hugged him close to her chest. "It's... fate..." she said.
Agumon looked up at her with a questioning glance.
"Agumon... Let's do our best. I don't know what fate has planned for us. But... you and me are partners." she smiled.
Agumon nodded "Hmmhm" he sounded approvingly.
Haruka hugged him tighter to her chest still.
"Um... Haruka?..." Agumon said, sounding slightly muffled.
"Hmm?"
"I can't breath..." came the muffled voice of Agumon again.

 

"Owww, that hurt" Ren said All he remembered was following a voice whitch led to a digi portal
"You Okay Ren" A voice said above him
"Yeah... wait how do you knpw my name" He asked
"I know it because I'm Shoutmon, your partner"
"Wait, so i'm in the digital world"
"You got that right boss"
Ren then stood up from the ground and looked arounded "So this is the digital world huh"

 

"would you guys wanna group up with us? We were just about to explore a little ways up." Ellen tilted her head to the left slightly.
"Dude, I think there might be a village over that way. I ran the opposite direction, and this is where the others of my village were running." Vee-mon pointed behind them. "And then you guys came from up ahead, so maybe we'll find more people."

"Yep,see that place over there" Shoutmon said pointing to a nearby village.
"Yeah, what about it" Ren replied
"Well thats our next stop"
"Why"
"Don't you want to see the rest if the digital world"
"Of course I do"
"Then lets go" Shoutmon said going on ahead
"Whoa, wait up" Ren said running after Shoutmon

 

Wyatt was still rubbing his head as he looked at what hit him. "Whoa! You're a Digimon?"
Tilting his head, Commandramon answered sarcastically, "No, I'm a person with a complexion problem. Yeah, I'm a Digimon!" He waved his gun around as he talked. "I'm the one and only Commandramon! Well, not the only one, but the best of course," He grinned and showed his fangs. His pixelated skin changed to a lighter color. "We're partners, Wyatt! Though, I don't know why I got such a weak looking human..." He said, disappointed.
Commandramon? Like commander? or commando? That explains the gun... Wyatt said, somewhat excited as he watched the Digimon. "Partners, huh?" He repeated as he stood up until he realized what he said. "Wait a minute. What do you mean 'weak'?" Before he could receive an answer, his cell phone beeped and vibrated in his pocket. "Hm?" He remembered it was his cell phone that had led him there. That's right...that text... He reached in his pocket, but instead of pulling out his cell phone, there was a small dark blue device, shaped like squarish circle. "What is this?" He patted his other pockets, but could not find a cell phone anywhere. "What the hell...?"
Commandramon leaned forward and sniffed the device in his partner's hand. The area around his nostrils darkened with his huff before changing color back to normal."What is that, Wyatt?"
Wyatt shook his head. "I have no ide-wait," Wyatt looked up confused. "How do you know my name? I didn't tell you."
"Geez, are you weak and stupid? I thought I told you!" Commandramon replied, exasperated, "We're partners!"
