thats true and the three armored unknowns weps that they have at first look like keyblades with no keychain

 

a keyblade is still a keyblade, ceychain or not. in kh1, sora battles maleficent. right before she turns into a dragon, riku says "need some help?"

then sora comes in.
"is that a?"

"a keyblade, yes. but unlike yours, this keyblade hoolds the power to unlock peoples hearts. observe"

then riku stabs maleficent with the keyblade.

sometime in there, if you paying any attention at all, you would see that it doesn't have a keychain. you would also notice that riku says it is a keyblade.

That's the Dark Keyblade, and isn't the same as Soul Eater/Way to the Dawn (which are the same Keyblade).

Yes, the only three with Keychains are Sora's, Riku's and Mickey's in the centre (as confirmed by Nomura). Each of the knights are already holding Keyblades without Keychains before they pick them up. As far as I've seen, none of the ones that make up the crossroads have Keychains either, so they must have some importance.

A keyblade is just a type of weapon that has the power to lock or unlock any door, be it to a heart, to a world, or just to a chest. I'm pretty sure the keychain just makes it more powerful.

I wonder what would happen if you took the keychain off kingdom key....

yeah they must be keybladers or when they pick up the three keyblades they dont disapper like what would happen when someone else would

Have you guys ever noticed that the only keyblades WITH keychains are Kingdom Key, Mickey's kingdom key, and Way to dawn? (The keyblades the chaser pick up from the ground in the beginning.)
