Well, considering the fact that Nomura is the character designer of Final Fantasy and the director of Kingdom Hearts, its got to have his personal "touch" on the character appearences.

They do. But that goes for every Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts character.

Looking at a picture of the two (which I tried to post here, but had trouble doing so) they don't really look that much the same. I mean, they do, but not like an OMG! THEY LOOK THE SAME! kinda way. Their hair color and style are distinctively different (Kairi's is longer and dark red, Yuna's is a little shorter and light brown), their eye color is very different, and Kairi has bigger eyes. Nothing really worth noting.

That's like saying that Terra and Zack look the same. They do, sort of, but its irrelevant and debatable.

Um...think that every Square-Enix character is based on another one. Take for example Cloud and Sora. Cloud's descriptions and Sora's descriptions created the perfect new character, Roxas. And also, some of all the Square-Enix characters are created by using descriptions of others.

 

Actually when I think about it, They are similar.

 

Yeah, let's not compare facial structure similarity as being significant in any way. Nomura recycles faces. Constantly. True Story.

Nomura needs to expand his horizons. There's too much Cloud Strife, there are even females looking like him now (FFXIII heroine what?)

 

Yea they do look quite alike, exept the eyes. Yuan has really weird eyes. Two different colour, *sudders*.

 

You're absolutely correct. Now look at Rinoa, Tifa, and Garnet.

Square-Enix's heroines all look alike, and have the same personality traits, etc. Dumb stereotypes.
