How does one go to a prom without actually...going to a prom? (and yes I read it as pron first too and was then disappointed)
I don't know man, Tumblr ain't my thing. It's like the cool new car that's cheap and everyone's got, but I don't really want it cause it'll be another thing for me to maintain like my dead Youtube and my deader deviantART accounts.
I don't go to real proms, so I wouldn't go to something like this. This makes me glad to not be a part of mainstream internet.
I've never heard of the internet being called "mainstream" before...didn't even know they have online proms, though it doesn't surprise me now that I think of it.
the internet has grown so large and become such a huge part of society, that the internet itself is more or less its own society, with its own rules and everything else, and just like real life there are parts of the internet that are mainstream and parts that are not. You cant really generalize the internet as a whole anymore, at least when putting it in terms of mainstream or not. Things like social media websites and things that get mainstream attention in real life would be internet mainstream, while things like forums would not be considered mainstream.
Despite what may seem the internet does have rules. It's just that so little people, myself included, follow them due to personal opinion or whatever else. The internet has changed over the past years. The government as a larger hand in what happens and how strictly the laws are enforced. It's still not on the same level as real life, and hopefully it never will be.
