Designer Babies

Well I've never head of this but I find it interesting. (Which doesn't neccessarily mean that I'm for it though.)

The only thing that I've heard that closely relates to this is about the Mammoth that we could bring back to life. And it only relates to this because people also believe on this that we shouldn't "play God".

Though I really don't think I would pick what traits for my child. Sure, I'm like everyone else and don't want my kid to have a medical condition. But that would be the only reason I would change the traits. I wouldn't want to choose any other trait for my kid because, well, I don't know it just doesn't seem like it would be as...surprising? I'd like to be surprised when I see them. Not see what I picked just because I like those traits.

To me, it seems like unique-ness would disappear. Odd traits would be lost because parents wouldn't want their child to be a "freak"

No wonder there is a lot of controversy over this. Jeez.
