I remember last year(8th grade) I got really depressed and nothing seem right. Nothing really seemed worth it anymore. I would get upset or mad easily. I felt like nothing and everything I did wasn't good enough. It took a while but I snapped out of it. Still i do feel like that sometimes but not for a long time.
Anywho I think it's stupid how people who are "gothic" call themselves "depressed" or "emo". It only adds to the problem of people lableing others who wear dark clothes "emo". this makes people think that only "gothics" get depressed when they don't. Everybody does at some point.

i have never in my life been actually depressed. sad, but not depressed. I take life very lightly, the way i see it, is that wat will happen will happen. Why get sad over what happens?

I'd just like to say that not all Goths cut themselves or are depressed all the time.

Now that that's out of the way:

Most of us have felt 'down in the dumps' 'blue', that sort of depressed. But this type of Depression is very serious. I suspect I have it since I was bullied in school since my fellow students found out I had epilepsy when I was younger and thus was branded a '******'. Nevermind I got better grades then they did and constantly made the honor roll.

But anyway, Depression is not something to take lightly. Particularly 'Major Depressive Disorder' because of the high mortality rate tied with it {15% if left untreated}.

It's when they also have what is called Dysthymic Disorder paired with Depression. Yes you can have more than one at a time. This is called 'Double Depression. Dysthemia is less severe, but longer duration. Usually they have trouble getting out of bed. 'it's not worth it.' 'No one cares about me.' 'I'd be better off dead.'

I think Depression is more likely in the world today because of the high priority we place on image. Women needing to be a certain way to be attractive to men. Men thinking they need to not show their emotions, or be not a man.

Speaking of, Men are more likely to not admit they need help if they have any sort of mental disorder. Seeing it as a weakness to admit that they have a problem.

Sorry I made this post rather long. :o
