Demons and Heroes

Twilight was smileing weakly but there were still tears in her eyes. She clasped his hand tightly for a second before struggleing to bring him closer to the fire. Her legs trembled underneath her as she set him down and through her cloak over him.
"You can't go anywhere without getting into trouble, can you." She smiled, leaning over him and patting his arm gently. She offered him some water and started a fire.

 

"Well mainly I stop the trouble that others cause, but I don't mind. I feel like I have been attacked by an army.A good rest and I will be fit again. It really is all over, the true evil that is. I am now the demon who laughed and loved as when I was young." He stared at the fire and tears formed in his eyes.

 

Twilight quickly wiped her eyes. "Then sleep." She whispered. "You'll start anew in the morning. Just sleep." She reached out and took his hand, unable to beleive what had happend in the last few hours.

 

He turned and smiled at her, his eyes glistening. He noticed that she was still holding his hand and this moved him. He struggled to his feet and staggered to his tent where he collapsed, exhausted. His eyes closed as he dropped into a sweet dreamless sleep.

Twilight curled up by the fire, tired but joyful all the same. Tomorrow would be much better. She would hope for it.
She closed her eyes and slept under the stars. But in her sleep, a voice called to her. The same voice she'd been hearing for several days.

ooc: c you later. I have school till 2:45 so it's gonna be this afternoon when im back.

 

Gharanth woke feeling surprisingly good. He got up, went fishing in his usual way and began to prepare breakfast. He wondered why everyone else was still asleep. This was a glorious morning and they were missing the best of it. He began singing to himself quietly, a guilty pleasure that he indulged in when he thought no one was around.

 

Natalie looked at Jecht...
"Jecht....you okay?" she asked...

 

Cole soon woke up and sat next to Gharanth.

 

Gharanth stopped singing. "How are you today? Things have certainly been interesting."

 

"I am fine." he said. "And how are you today?"

 

"Fine. It seems I have found someone who believes in me and has strength of faith. I feel very honoured."

 

"Well good for you!" he said, patting him on the back.

 

"It seems that you are getting on well with Natalie? Is she your girlfriend? I will look forward to the wedding."

 

"W-wedding?" he asked, getting nervous. He hadn't thought about marriage yet. Was she expecting him to propose to her?

 

"Come on man! She is so cute with you. Do the gallant thing. If you don't you'll regret it later. I'm an expert on regrets."

 

Twilight shifted in her sleep as she found herself in her bed instead of next to the fire where she remembered falling asleep. She yawned and pulled her blanket over her head, remembering why she was so tired.

 

"Fine, I'll propose later." he said. "What about you and Twilight? You two seem so good together!"

 

Gharanth heard her yawn and smiled. "Sleep in Twilight. You deserve it." He tried not to grin at Cole, who would take everything the wrong way.

 

Twilight nodded, still half asleep but knowing Gharanth couldn't see her nodding anyways. She didn't feel like speaking yet, too exhausted after yesterday. She lay back down and was asleep before her head hit the pillow.

"You didn't answer my question." he said grinning.
