Demons and Heroes

He held her hand gently and led her out.

 

She looked at him every few seconds and smiled.
"So where do you want to go now?" she asked...

 

"I don't know, I was about to ask you the same thing."

 

She smiled and laughed softly...
"Well....how about," she said then thought of somewhere.
"Hmmm....well...since i have no use of my powers, it's not going to snow for a while. How about the river?" she asked

 

Twilight stopped her practicing as she watched a rather tough looking deamon pass. (gharanth) She raised an eyebrow and approached.

 

Gharanth walked slowly along the river bank. The water was relaxing. He wondered who he should show these emotions to. He was alone in life and had no real friends or family. He sat on the riverbank and threw pebbles into the water.

 

"That sounds good." he said.

 

"Hello, Starnger." Twilight stepped up near Gharanth, watching him. "I'm sorry, this is probably not my buisiness, but are you lost?" She paused. "Physically or mentally."

 

She smiled...
"Then lets go," she said exitedly

 

"Okay." he said, smiling wider.

BIC: Natalie then walked with him towards the river...

 

"Lets just say I have a lot on my mind at present and I'm not in the mood to be crossed. Who are you anyway? Another orb seeker?"

 

Twilight frowned a bit. Her navy blue eyes examining Gharanth. "I'm not after power if that's what you're asking. You just look troubled and i came to talk." She sheathed her feather looking blade with a sigh. "But if you want me to leave..."

 

"No, please stay. It seems everyone else is collecting orbs to increase their power. I am protecting orbs so they do not start wars. Power can easily be abused. Innocents are hurt in the process. Innocents..............such as Aroe."

 

"A friend of yours, i am guessing." Twilight sat next to him, holding him with her eyes. "A friend you had hope in." She paused, the corner of her mouth dropping as if she was trying to understand his pain but could not. "Power...physically strong...can sometimes tear apart the closest realationships...but that's not any reason to give up on life. You simply keep your memories close and try harder. Cause you know it is never the end."
Twilight flattened her pants leg, apparently feeling a little uncomfortable but not showing it. "But you don't need to listen to me. Why should you? You don't even know my name. Im..." She held her hand out to him, "Twilight."

 

"Hello Twilght. He was a student in a way. He picked a fight with an orb seeker who was too strong for him and lost. I buried him with my bare hands. I shall never forget him. He taught me to remember I had emotions."

 

"And it's good not to forget." She dipped a stick into the water. "I'm sure he is happy...wherever he is now...and eventually, you will see him again. For now, just remeber that he is probably happy you live to move on. To see another day." She smiled at him, trying to make him feel better. "That's the thing with friendship. If one is happy, so is the other."

 

"The problem is I don't belong anywhere. I thought I needed no-one else and could go it alone. I have strength and power but these are nothing. I can fight, heal and survive but I couldn't save my friend. It's so unfair. I don't know where to start. It's been so long since I cared and I don't know where to start."
He threw a stone into the river with a splash.

 

"We don't choose who lives and who dies. You didn't fail your friend, it was just his time to go. He must have fulfilled his purpose somehow. In some way." She stood up, looking down at him. "Listen my friend. You may come with me if you need somewhere to go. I have a small camp to the west and i could use a companion. But please. I do not yet know your name."

 

"Forgive me my rudeness. My name is Gharanth. Yes the one that is supposedly cursed. Knowing that may change your mind about being my friend. If you hold any orbs I suggest you require protection. I will be honest with you if you are with me."
He got up and followed her. He towered over her but kept a respectful distance.
