Gharanth crying!!

 

"Hang in there kid. If only I knew how the nature orb worked. I can create poison and heal myself but I don't know how to control it properly yet." He attempted to treat the wounds and bandaged him. His sight was blurred but he gritted his teeth and attempted to create the healing seeds from the orb. Seeds appeared and he realised he might have chance. They might work. He placed them in the wounds. "Heal kid, make me proud."

 

Aroe's face twisted but nothing seemed to be happening. He caughed some more. "Please...please..." He reached up and clutched Gharanth's arm, making him look into his eyes. "I've done horrible things to you...forgive me..."

 

"You've done nothing to me. You're like my son. I've been hard on you, I'm sorry. It's a tough world out there and I'm not exactly the best father figure. There's nothing to forgive. I'm the cruel cold one. Live kid and teach me as well. Aldo will pay. Once I'm strong enough I will wipe him out of existence. Stay with me."

 

Aroe swallowed, tears filling his own eyes but not from the pain. It was what Gharanth said.
"I wish...I wish you could've been my father." Aroe closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened them, they were glassy and far off. "I...you're..." Aroe's face twisted and he grunted, hand tightening on Gharanth's arm.

 

Gharanth held the boy against him. "No, don't die. You have so much to see and do. We will go together." Tears poured down his face and he didn't care who saw him. He was beyond caring as the boy was dying and he could do nothing to stop it. All his strength and powers could not stop the inevitable. He didn't want the boy to die alone.

 

"Gharanth...I want you to live for me...I want you to forget everything and just live...forget your past...just..." Aroe reached slowly into his pack and pulled out his wind orb, pressing it into Gharanth's hand. "Keep this for me...please...keep it safe..." Aroe squeezed Gharanth's arm. "And emotions aren't...weakness Gharanth...they aren't..." Aroe was trembleing now, trying to keep himself together a little longer.

 

"I'll live.......for you. Forgive me Aroe.........I let you down. Always remember that I care though I never know how to show it. I'll learn again for you. My son.........I never had." Gharanth choked up and the emotions overtook him he held Aroe against him. The world was getting colder and he swore to change it so that he would make a difference. He would use the wind orb and the others for good, and stop the tyrant Aldon. No one else would suffer if he could help it. "I.......swear."

 

Aroe smiled weakly, blood dripping from the side of his mouth. "Thank you, Gharanth." He stared up at the white sky above them, looking without really seeing as the deep grey of his eyes began to fade. "Maybe we'll meet again someday." he sighed.
"You know?...I'm not feeling alone anymore."
Then his body gave a shudder and his hand fell away from Gharanth's arm. His last breath escaped his lips and with a look of peace on his pale face, Aroe knew no more.

 

Gharanth collapsed into a heap, still clutching the lifeless body. The poor child never had a chance. He would respect Aroe's wishes. Life was too precious.

He realised he had been there for a long time and the sun was setting. Digging a grave with his talons for the cold body he built a cairn and marked the top with a sword that he never used as it was too small for him. "Farewell young friend. You taught me what it means to live."

He slit his side and inserted the wind orb. It was the most painful thing he had done, but not because of the injury. He never wanted possession of this orb, he wanted Aroe to master it.

 

ooc: well that raps it up for today. Thanks for the help Gharanth. You'll probably see my new character sometime this week. :)

Other:She is wise and sweet. She is a deamon but considers some humans, 'Okay, once you get to kow 'em.' She has stunning eyes and with them, can get anyone to stare back at her, and she has amazing grace. She fears enclosed spaces.

Gharanth walked back into the forest. He would seek out the others and see how they were faring. He had failed Aroe but he had promised to follow his emotions and see where they led. Strangely for him they led to loneliness, which he hated.
