Demons and Heroes

Gharanth swung further and further though the rope groaned in protest and scarily began creaking. It was desperate all or nothing move. Gharanth knew he was seriously pushing his luck but he was due some. As he reached vertical the rope snapped, hurling him towards the wall. Grabbing the remains he made a loop and hooked it over a carving. His face collided with the wall and his nose crunched. Well at least he was alive. Pulling himself slowly up he grabbed several ropes and swung to the exit which he threw himself through. His shoulder ached and he had blood pouring down his face.

Her stopped to rest and drink a little water. He could not go back now, not that he wanted to. He would get that orb and dimension walk home. Some barrier prevented him dimension walking in. It was probably some test of worthiness. The unworthy died. He crawled along the corridor to the next room. They had to be kidding. The floor was some liquid which obviously was impossible to swim in and the victim sank in and drowned. There was no rope or bridge and the entrance was on the other side. This was a test of worthiness then Gharanth knew what to do. He smiled and closed his eyes, imagining what he saw, not allowing what his eyes told him to deceive him. He stepped out onto the liquid with his foot.

 

Cole took a deep breath and walked back a few steps. He then ran alongside the wall and started running on it.

 

ooc: What wall? Have you read all the posts before. The building is sealed and the plot is now pointless. If it was that easy he would have just walked in. I'm not carrying on as it's not worth the effort...

 

Aroe...is still just walking. It had been a boring day. No one was around and he hadn't spoken since he'd shouted for Cole to help Natalie the day before. Time sure flys when you're doing nothing at all.

Cole woke up from his dream and looked around.

Aroe stops walking for a moment. The quiet was deafening. He closed his eyes. He didn't mind the silence. But being alone was his worst fear.

ooc: anyone can cut in...please...

 

ooc: Then there is no point. The whole thing was it was really dangerous to get to. If everyone else is going to just walk in I can't be asked to put the effort in to writing the final challenge.

Now for my last thing to ask....

Gharanth felt his foot hit a firm surface. Using his arms and swords for balance he carefully and slowly moved forward putting one foot in front of another. A small mistake and he would sink without a trace. This was a test of faith, but not he feared the final test, that would be much more complex. Eventually his foot hit rock again and he climbed into the doorway. Turning to look he saw a mirrored surface of deadly calm.

Turning again he entered a small chamber. In the centre was a raised dais with nothing on it. Above this was a mirror with the orb and four women reflected in it. Gharanth grinned and smiled at the mirror. Nice magic, cruel to the unwary. He caught a rat and threw it onto the dais. It was immediately transported up into the mirror where the women turned into harpies and killed it. Gharanth nodded. Tricky indeed but with only one solution. Taking his flame sword he swung at the mirror with all his might. The mirror smashed releasing the monsters and the orb which was suspended in a holder. He liked the last test. Harpies hated fire. He burst into flames and attacked the first two with the swords. The second two braved the flames to rake at his already injured back with their claws. After killing the first two he fire balled the second two, killing them. Retrieving the orb he felt the barrier lift as the ceiling collapsed. Gharanth gathered the last of his strength and dimension walked out. Outside he used the seeds of the orb to heal himself and then sliced his side to hide the orb with the others. Tendrils appeared and knitted the wound. Gharanth smiled. It had been worth the pain.

jecht walked up to the door pushing it open he ducked dodging bullets

"ah your here"

he threw the orb at him

"what is this its a fake ..... you were fooled again"

he snapped his fingers and in the distance a women screamed
