Demons and Heroes

Gharanth stood at the bottom of a flight of steps leading up to a temple. Had he any sense of awe he would have stopped to admire the artistry, but he just stopped to rest. Pulling out food and water he relaxed. It had taken a long time to get here and he had no idea what was inside.

 

Cole soon drifted off to sleep.

 

Looking up at the temple Gharanth decided to nap before completing the task ahead. He lay against a wall and closed his eyes. Nothing was nearby that he could sense which was strange. He could normally sense animals and humans as well as demons if they were close enough.

 

The snow was still comming down but Aroe knew staying in the tree was a stupid and weak thing to do. Gharanth wouldn't be hiding from a little snow. He'd be braving it.

He crawled down the long trunk but his wounds pulled and he found himself laying facedown in the ice instead of landing on his feet. He rolled over onto his back, watching the flakes spin around towards him. They were beautiful. Almost the most amazing thing he'd ever seen. He sighed and rested his eyes. It didn't make sense that something so beautiful could be so cold...like Natalie.

 

Natalie started to have nightmares..It began to snow harder...and the wind speed picked up..

 

Yochi saw Natalie and sensed that she was having a nightmare. He went over to her and tried to comfort her.

 

Cole woke up to the cold. His hair was frozen solid.

 

Natalie continued to have her nightmares...She couldn't wake up for some reason.. She the snow got heavier and the winds whistled...

 

Fearing for their safety, he picked her up and brought her inside.

 

Natalie was shivvering... She continued to sleep.. All her energy soon left her body after the snow storm slowed down...

 

He had nothing to cover her up with, so he took off his shirt and put it over her to try and keep her warm.

 

Feeling desperate for Natalie. Yochi bent down and kissed her.

 

Natalie woke up and saw Yochi kissing her... She blushed, and was very nervous..
"Uhhh.." was all she could say...

 

Aroe shooved a tree branch aside. The storm had knocked some trees right out of the ground. He pulled himself out of the twigs and tree limbs and stood up, dusting off his shirt and running a hand through his hair.
"You are not worth the effort. You are a disgrace to the name demon. Go join the heroes and be as pathetic as they are. "
Those were Gharanth's exact words and they still clung at Aroe like brambles to bare skin.
Maybe he was right. And if he was, Aroe needed help. Despite how much he hated to. He needed help from Gharanth. He wouldn't be weak anymore. He wouldn't be afraid.

 

"Wow." he said, surprised.

 

Yochi pulled back and blushed. He ran out into the storm and kept running. well....it woke her up...good He found a small hidden cave and went into it. He sat down, leaning against a wall.

 

Natalie sat up as he ran out... She saw Cole's shirt. She then looked at him...
"Thank you," she said reaching it back to him...

 

"You're welcome" he said. "Are you going to go after him?"

 

She nodded.. Once she stood up she fell back because she was exaughsted from loosing so much energy.. She stood back up and slowly made her way out of the cave... She walked outside and soon slowly past Aroe without seeing him..

 

Aroe could barely keep himself from gasping as he watched Natalie pass. By her face she hadn't seen him.
'She'd probably be running if she had...im such an idiot.'
Aroe swallowed, unable to hold himself back, jumping from tree to tree above her, he trailed her into the forest.
