Demons and Heroes

"I'm up to it, as long as I have you," she said

 

He kissed her and helped her up. "Then lets go." he said.

 

She kissed him on the cheek and held his hand. She walked along with him

 

He smiled at her and gently squeazed her hand.

 

she stroked his hand and kissed his cheek.

 

He kissed her on the lips.

 

Twilight let Gharanth's words sink in, relaxing in his strong but warm arms. She had nothing to say, just listening to his wisdom and letting her mind soak it up completely. She wanted to remember every word, every sylable he spoke. She never had wanted anything more.

 

"Once I believe that battles could solve everything and that ruling by force was always the solution. As I have gotten more experienced I realise that war causes pain and true enlightenment is found in peace and balance. Sadly this is not a widely held philosophy and many will fight and kill to get what they want."

 

Twilight nodded against his chest. "Pain...that's all it causes...suffering and destruction. I don't understand why it has to be that way..."

 

"That is why we must never turn away from helping those too weak or helpless to protect themselves. With power comes responsibility and I have a lot more power than before. I guess that I'll do my utmost to protect those that need it." Gharanth kissed her cheek. "I will never run away, I have something worth protecting, you."

 

"I guess I have something worth protecting too." She smiled up at him, eyes sparkling happily.

 

"I have lived long enough and seen enough to know exactly what I want in life. I am looking directly at my hearts desire." Gharanth gazed in her eyes. "Should the oceans dry up and the mountains fall, my love for you is eternal."

 

Twilight's ears burned red and she smiled brighter. "You spoil me, Gharanth." She giggled. She loved him with her entire soul, more than anything in the whole world.

 

"Never, I merely treat you as you deserve to be treated. I know the true value of love and I also know that you are a treasure beyond value or mere money."

 

Twilight let out a breath. It was undeniable. He was perfect in every way. She closed the space between them, wrapping her arms around his neck and staring up into his large red eyes.
"All the treasure and gold in the world is nothing compared to what you have given me, Gharanth."

 

Gharanth's breath caught in his throat. She was so beautiful and he was not worthy of such a blessing. He leaned in and kissed her on the lips, losing himself in the moment and holding her like he was afraid she was a dream and would disappear, leaving him empty.

 

Twilight sighed against his lips, kissing him back passionatly. His arms held her as if she would run away but she wasn't going anywhere. Not now and not ever.

 

"You are so precious to me that it defies description. You are my day and night, the very air I breathe. It seems that everything good in my life is linked to you."

 

"You are my life, Gharanth." Twilight whispered, out of breath. She clung to him gentally, remembering all the bad memories she had picked up from him a while ago. They seemed to not exist anymore. She couldn't feel the fear wafting off of him anymore. It was just him. Just Gharanth and her.

 

Gharanth smiled and stroked her hair. All the nightmares had gone, chased away by love and warmth that Twilight brought into his life. She was his very life, and he would only truly live when she was with him.
